patches689: Yes It seems you dont understand what load shedding is my oh my....the coconut has sprout wings!.let me break it down to your level of comprehension: for example,if you generate about 5000MW in a second along a medium of tension, and you shed about 900MW of electricity at every primary grid,if the point of convalence is located about 500km from the generation point, and there are primary grids{high tension modulators} at every 100km of displacement.you'll end up distributing{contributing} about 1000MW of energy to the central{national} grid!. do you now understand the physics behind load shedding?,yeah?,splendid!!.... |

patches689: And yet in reality we have taken over your economy and you only produce 3% of the power we do. SA companies control less than 5% of our economy, your main strength in the nigerian economy lies in the telecommunication and real sector.but its of no consequences,56% of our economy still remains in indigenous hands.but to SA,i can only say: welcome to the hegemony my son!. #NigerianHegemony |

Msauza: There is a power that we are distributing to the whole of SADC. We have wires that cross to our neighbouring countries to distribute electricity.
http://www.miningmx.com/multimedia/radio_wrap/843237.htm now,you barely have power to feed your failing grid.how can you shed power and distribute it at the same time? |

stillchris: guy, i wouldn't worry about chad if i were you.
we have beaten a chadian invasion in an offensive that was led by buhari. we almost marched to their capital before france involved the UN and we had to pull back. i'm sure the chadians don't have a short memory like south africans.
they are likely to rejoin the MNJTF to retake baga or might just be the usual wester media overhype just to spite Nigeria as usual. indeed.that is a possibility.but i wonder why the NA is delaying the recapturing baga?,mubi is 8 times larger than baga, but our gallant troops recaptured it in a day,and sweeped it clean in less than two weeks!,what is holding the NA back this time? |

Henry120: Nigeria's combat readiness isn't in doubt. The Nigerian military is not weak, our military was not weak yesterday, it isn't today, and it would not be tomorrow. We have a strong military and are currently re-arming, re-tooling our assets.
We have a combined military asset which is 3 times the size that of the entire west and central Africa region combined.
We messed up the chadians in 84, and militarily occupied bakassi for 12 years.
This is a fact.
A concerted media campaign is what it is, a media campaign. The facts are most of those towns initially occupied have since been cleared of insurgents.
You are a Nigerian, just like myself, we have and would continue to have a bad media representation. It didn't begin today, it won't end tomorrow. i understand, the overenthusiastic media reportage always end up unknowingly feeding BH propaganda and undermining the gallant effort of our troops. |

I understand our combat readiness. |

agaugust: Our artillery will roast Chadian army, we are built for conventional warfare and that is what Chadian threat will be, conventional, not Boko Haram style unconventional hide and seek warfare.
Our air defense will sh.oot down Chadian MiG-29 jets. Our F-7 can go against a MiG-29 if the Chadians have no BVR missiles.
Chad does not have a single tank and we can roll our T-72 tanks into Chad's capital city supported by Palmaria artillery and Roland SAM.
NAF can speed up JF-17 Thunder jets delivery from current Pakiatani stocks.
Let's not forget, Chad has been given limited rights to cross into Nigerian border because we both signed agreement on joint multinational force, it can cross into a border town but not too deep into Nigerian territory, we too can send our army into Chad with a border segment limit. good.lets just hope that the NA isnt pushed to the extremes to retaliate,a war with chad would distract us from more important and dangerous enemies. |

mzilakazi: SA is a social-free market system. http://m.treasuryone.co.za/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.treasuryone.co.za%2Feconomic-viewpoint-2%2F#2887 SA is not broke. Just only because they cannot fund for some military projects does not mean that the government of SA is broke. The only government in Africa which gives free medical insurance, pensions, houses and grants to its citizens every month non-stop. Nigeria does not have the capacity to do that. SA has SOEs which can fund for any project no matter how big it is and as well as large private sector which operate in Africa at large which also helps to relieve the government in its duties by funding for some projects. We are the only country in Africa that has the infrastructure that meet the standards of developed countries. Fact!!! So who is broke now? Nigeria or SA. SA is the richest government in Africa, Fact!!! hahahaha...what is your new claim now?,that your country is located in the swedish alps?....haha |

MikeCZAR: They're threatened not experiencing piracy.
They'll call out for help if things heat up, like Mozambique just did with the floods.
Like DRC in the late 90s and now.
Like Tanzania did in the late 90s, when their training teams were stuck in the DRC.
SADC isn't ECOWAS. a tiger with a goat's teeth will surely chew grass.SANDF is just a shiny army with no performance. |

agaugust: AFP and REUTERS posted the correct report, only Cameroon bagged Chad for military help in combat...same Cameroon that was boasting last week that they killed about 200 Bokos, now they are afraid of Boko Haram retaliation .Only Nigeria can stand alone to fight Boko Haram in West Africa.See Cameroon that was laughing at Nigeria for years now, they see small Boko threat and President Biya is already down on his knees begging Chad and France for help with soldiers.Where is that foolish Cameroonian girl that was boasting here last week that their military is better than Nigeria's? LOL!!!You know cowards when the war enters into their bedrooms with RPG and 23mm cannon playing music inside their living rooms.Even Chad, let Boko Haram enter N'djamena with 1,000 battle hardened Boko Haram men and equipment,Chad will beg France for help. All those laughing at Nigeria, their own time of weeping and gnashing of teeth is coming one by one do you think we can prevent chadian invasion? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by EVarn(m): 7:49pm On Jan 19, 2015 |
NaijaPikinGidi: You don't need to worry over what the news says on doesn't say! Talk is cheap! The same western news hounds consistently have portrayed the Camerounian army as more effective ... not so? How come they are now crying out for help from a lowly Chad? Make no mistake, we are operationally in-charge of the situation in the North East -- otherwise Cameroun would still have been comfortable and taking things easy. What you are seeing currently, is the impact of the NA pressing the insurgents hard ... leaving them on the run with no option but to find soft targets over the border in Cameroun while trying to cool-off.
NA is cracking down on the spineless insurgents and the result is what you see happening across in Cameroun. At ease!! espi d'cole, what of the chadian threat?.i trust that they are being monitored to prevent sabotage? |

mzilakazi: Our government is not a banana republic. It has its own companies to run tertiary services to the people at a cost. Services which have been monopolised. The revenues that are made belong to the government of SA. So, tell me how is that business? SA is a mixture of social and free market system. In other words our country is run by communists and capitalists at the same time. Someone who has more money to pay for postage, electricity, telephone, etc is also indirectly paying for the medical bills and building the house of the poor. dummy.
Perhaps, Nigeria is a banana republic since it does not have perfect policies to regulate its revenue base. hahahahaha*i laugh in swahili*..oh my!,how can a government be both communist and capitalist at the same time?!...man,you've got the cluelessness award for janaury.your government conducts business.simple!,your country is broke.simple!,your economy is like a chipmonk sniffing its a.ss.simple!. |

Msauza: The only person who appears to be clueless is you. Here is the extract from the source that I have posted.Cape Town -The government and state-owned enterprises will spend more than R800 billion over the next three years on new power stations, road networks, dams and water supply pipelines, rail and ports facilities, schools, hospitals and government buildings, the Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan has revealed in his Budget Speech. It is clear that the SOEs are also involved in building infrastructure. so you now admit that your government runs businesses?.anyway, that still doesnt explain where you intend to get $100b. |
