I don't know where people get all these nonsense from. Yes, the catholic church is a product of roman paganism and christian theology, sanctioned by the ancient roman emperor Constantine I. But insinuating all these doomsday theories and hasty "prophetic" interpretations is really not presenting mainstream christians as rational or intellectual people |
tuniski:The Nigerian voting people, many of those singing the PDP music on social media will end up not voting on the election day. Elections aren't won on nairaland, twitter or facebook. |
kimjongJezebel:In 2015, people saw Buhari, not Tinubu or Amaechi. Many people didn't care if corrupt elements like Saraki, Tinubu and co were in APC, they thought the mere presence of Buhari will eventually wipe away all the grime of corruption that was clinging to the party. It was well crafted propaganda.PDP on the other hand has no such advantage. |
Under which political platform is he planning to contest? |
Except PDP presents a strong and credible candidate, it will lose in 2019. I think the wisest thing the PDP can do is to field a popular northern candidate, and change the name of the party. Politics is all about perception, and the perception people have about the name PDP right now is not flattering at all. |
Governor Bello is a very confused and incompetent politician, it is quite unfortunate that a young man like him is performing with such abysmal level of intelligence. |
It is unacceptable for lawmakers to earn such sum, we are not saying they should live as paupers, but budgeting about N400 million per annum for each lawmaker is obscene and an act of systemic haemorrhaging of our commonwealth. |
Aaronsrod:You sound incoherent, I don't know how fanatism has robbed you of your humanity, its a big pity indeed. |
Rome, and then later the Ottoman empire. |
Too much oil money. |
Mariangeles:Well, ask jesus. |
Mariangeles:Who is talking about insulting jesus?, I was simply addressing the misconception that good christians should not keep the company of percieved "sinners". |
It is very shameful that our intelligence structure is now subject to such scandals. If the president is truly serious about his anti-corruption campaign, the he should have swung into action, suspended all the parties involved and set up a panel of inquiry into the whole affair. Anyone found culpable should be sacked and put on trial. I don't even think it is right for the head of our intelligence agency to hold dual citizenship to any country. |
The OP has really said nothing we don't know already. The issue is; how are you going to implement your plans for sustainable power generation?. We already know that there are numerous fossil fuels and renewable energy resources that can be used, but how do we finance such an expensive venture, especially with our current nose-diving economy?, talking of coal energy, are you planning on pulling Nigeria out of the Paris Climate Change Accord, seeing that the instruments of that accord countermands using combustible energy sources like coal to generate power?, you spoke of pipelines across the country, how do you plan on both financing and securing them against sabotage?. What about the issues on privatization of power assets?, how will you deal with broke DISCOs and GENCOs?, do you plan on decentralizing the national power system, allowing states to have their own grid, generate power and transmit excess to the national grid?. These are the pressing questions that need answers, not those empty words. |
Nukilia:How do we know that China is the lesser evil?, because they are doling out loans?, or because they are selling us arms?, it may look like they are doing us a favour, but they are expanding their circle of influence as well. Everyone now buys chinese technology; cars, phones, laptops, and other appliances, Africa-China volume of trade has shot up astronomically and the balance is tilted in the favour of China. Africa consumes more chinese products than China itself. Even construction of road, rail, airport and power infrastructures in many African countries is in the hand of chinese multinationals. It may well be an illusion to believe that China is giving us loans without preconditions; truth is, chinese loans are tied to chinese companies(mostly owned by the chinese government), which then remit the money back to China. I am not against China, only cautious. |
@SSGN, I don't think the problem is America, neither do I think the solution is China. Both the problem and solution starts and ends in Africa. Nigeria must enpower itself against the world, China is as much of a threat as the U.S. LGBT rights isn't the problem, its the U.S. using it as a precondition that made it an issue. I think that a third force must arise, a raciogeopolitical bloc of the black race led by Nigeria, beginning from Africa. The African renaissance must begin, free from the padded shackles of China. We can partner with them, but at the same time, we must seek our own agenda, otherwise we will simply be trading one wicked exploiter for another potentially more wicked one. The U.S. meddled in our 2015 elections and helped install the current government, this wouldn't ever have happened if we had patriotic politicians. China on the other hand is encroaching on Africa through infrastructural loans, money that still ends up going back to China through chinese multinationals. |
life2017:Perhaps, but if he ever hopes to win public support,he needs to softpedal on the bellicose rhetorics. I like El-rufai too, despite allegations of corruption levelled against him(when he was FCT minister), I like his resolve, dedication and willpower which are rare qualities in our political system, but he needs to be more of a politician than a radicalist. Especially in a country as polar as Nigeria. Any statement can be dangerously interpreted to mean anything, depending on the perception of the interpreter. |
These statements are too raw for a man that has presidential ambition. |
godisgood200:Jesus kept the company of Zacchius, he kept the company of Mary Madgalene, who he encountered as a renown harlot. Jesus took Matthew, a tax collector(who were known to be very corrupt in those days), as a disciple. He promised a hanged thief paradise at Golgotha. He healed the children and servants of Roman pagans. He even had a cordial debate with Nicodemus, a great scholar in the sanhedrin council, the same sanhedrin that sought his arrest. So if you want to justify your bigotry, don't use jesus, he just doesn't fit into your petulant narrative. PS: Jesus said "love your enemies", how can you love your enemies and still shy away from their company?, that makes no sense. |
fineguy11:France has considerable military capabilities, and can carry out air and naval strikes on key Syrian positions. Russian SAMs are not omnipotent. |
Elpacino481:Well, its all about national interest and international politics. I would do the same thing if Nigeria were the U.S. and I was the president. It is left to Assad to strengthen Syria against western meddling. |
Blue3k:Well, the U.S. and its allies have proven willing to work with Al-Nusra and other syrian rebel fronts and "moderate" terrorists, in the case that Assad falls, the U.S. will support a rebel faction. |
