Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, has named the two players he would vote for in this year’s Ballon d’ Or.

According to Jorginho, he would vote for his Chelsea teammate, N’Golo Kante and Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne to win the Ballon d’ Or this year.

Jorginho, alongside Kante and De Bruyne, was among 30-man nominees recently shortlisted for the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.

The trio will battle the likes of Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, among others for the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.

Nigeria is a country that is blessed with several natural resources. We'll be looking at the natural resources that can be found in the South-Eastern States of Nigeria.

1. Enugu State

This South-Eastern state is blessed with different natural resources which include limestone, gypsum, ironstone, glass sands, coal, oil shale, alum, and clay minerals.

In 1909, a British mines engineer identified as Albert Kitson discovered Nigeria's first coal in Udi Ridge, present-day Enugu. The other natural resources can be found in different communities of the state.

2. Abia State

Apart from crude oil, this state is blessed with gold (though in a small quantity), gypsum, kaolin, lead/zinc, laterite, copper, bentonite clay, limestone, and oil shale.

3. Imo State

This state is blessed with lignite, lead/zinc, gypsum, Phosphate, Marcasite, fine sand, limestone, natural gas, and salt (though not in a large quantity).

4. Anambra State

Natural resources like bauxite, ceramic, natural gas, and crude oil can be found in this state.

In 2021, this state officially joined oil-producing states in Nigeria, following an approval granted by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

5. Ebony State

This state is blessed with lead/zinc, salt, and kaolin. Research shows that there's a large deposit of salt in the state.

For clarity, I'll be explaining some of the natural resources mentioned in this article.

Oil Shale

Oil shale is a type of sedimentary rock formation that can be used to produce gas and oil. This is possible due to the presence of kerogen, a type of organic matter that burns when exposed to flame.

Gypsum

It is also known as calcium sulfate hydrate, and it's a naturally occurring mineral found in layers of sedimentary rocks. It is used for the production of drywall, chalk, and is sometimes used as a fertilizer.

Kaolin

This is a fine soft white clay, resulting from the natural decomposition of other clays of feldspar. It is used in the production of many things, including papers and paints.

Just like the South-Eastern states, every other state in Nigeria is blessed with natural resources.

Yes, I have graduated with an LLB Second Class Upper from Baze University.

Tough journey. Imagine moving from Federal Executive Council to classroom with under 20s. I wore black trousers and a white shirt daily. Made an effort to enter the class before the lecturers, submitted assignments as at due dates.

It was humbling, but it brought order to my life. After eight years of high-octane service, from FRSC to Aviation, Baze University was therapeutic.

School was not without distraction. I Left to run for Governor, came back. Left to manage the Atiku campaign election centre, came back.

School was not without its setbacks. On the campaign trail for the 2019 elections, I struggled with school work but thought I could wing it. Alas,
I failed Evidence 1 taught by my friend Prof. Ojukwu. He refused to give me makeup midterm tests that I missed. Whenever I approached him, he would cheerfully gist and analyse the elections with me.

After each discussion, I went away confident he would reconsider. He did not. I went into the exam with 0/30. It was humbling, as I had not experienced examination failure before then. I nearly withdrew.
I persevered. I re-registered Evidence 1 and attended Prof Ojukwu's lectures, participated in all class assignments and followed his teaching style. I passed very well. Setbacks and failures are part of life. Face them squarely.

At Baze, I got no preferential treatment, and the school enforced rules. I highly recommend the university to aspiring students.

My wife can't wait to form a law partnership with me, Chidoka and Chidoka, where she would be the senior partner. Chidinma daalu, for all the support and tutorials, I hope your seniority ends at the bar and not near our bedroom.

To my Children, thank you for all the support and be reminded that I will not accept a degree less than a second class upper. If I can do it at old age, you have no excuse.

Today, I attended the convocation with pride. Hopeful of the future, proud that I applied Uche in learning and Uchu in Perseverance and commitment to earn a law degree.

Insecurity has made a lot of people to device different ways of being safe. Everyday people come up with different creative styles of keeping themselves safe when they go out. Some people protect themselves with different weapons, some people move about with bodyguards, some people even move about with charms just because they want to protect themselves.

There are some places that you will go to and you have to be very careful, because it is prone to danger. Imagine walking on the street at night alone, you would be really scared because someone might come out of nowhere and attack you at any moment, that is just how messed up life is.

Those people that cannot defend themselves in public either employed someone that would protect them in public, or even move around with dangerous pets so no one would come close to them. This is one reason why you see people moving about with huge dogs to protect them from outsiders.

Going to the ATM machine these days can be quite risky because, anybody can come out of nowhere and attack you even at the ATM machine. Someone can just walk up to you with a gun or even without a weapon, and ask you to withdraw all your money and give to them, or they can steal your ATM card from you and to take your password. Someone might also be at your back and keep staring at your transactions to get your ATM card number from you.

There are times when some of these criminals get caught due to the fact that there are security men around, but sadly a lot of people get attacked at the ATM almost every day. this has made a lot of people to think of different ways to protect themselves at the ATM stand. Most people have started moving around with big and dangerous dogs to stand guard for them while they withdraw their money peacefully.

Nigeria is a country filled with the most exciting things. One of the most exciting thing about Nigeria is our street food. They are so delicious, easy to get, affordable and spontaneous. Here is a list of street foods that will blow your taste buds:

SUYA

Suya is a popular Nigerian barbecued meat, sold by the road side and junctions by Hausa men. Suya is sold only at night as it is said to be very delicious only at night. It is sold in different form either on a stick or diced into pieces. Suya is eaten with onions, tomatoes, and other suitable veggies and is known as the king of street food in Nigeria.

AKARA

Akara is a deep fried beans ball made with grounded beans mixed with pepper, onions and other spices. It is called “Kosai” in the northern part of Nigeria. Akara is sold with yagi ( suya pepper) or sauce and can also be eaten with fried yam or puff puff or pap.

ABACHA

Abacha is also know as “African salad” it is originally owned by the Igbo people. Abacha is made with dried shredded cassava and other ingredients. You’ll always see Abacha vendors on the streets or around some market angles. Abacha is best eaten with any cold drink of your choice.

ROASTED CORN

Roasted corn is sold in the afternoon or evening of the day. It can easily be found at junctions, bus tops or road sides. This street food is mostly sold with coconut, or any other thing of your choice and it is best eaten hot. AlThough, corn is a seasonal food in Nigeria but when it is out, it is most sought after.

WAINA/MASA

Masa is a street food which is mostly sold at junctions, bus tops or road sides by female food vendors. Masa is eaten either with yagi, sugar or waina soup with biscuit bone(kashi). Masa is made out of rice, salt, sugar. It is a northern Nigeria food.

ROASTED YAM WITH PALM OIL SAUCE

Roasted yam with palm oil sauce is another most sought after street food in Nigeria. It is very filling and delicious and can be eaten at anytime of the day. This particular food can mostly be found at street corners prepared by female food vendors.

BOILED GROUNDNUTS

Boiled groundnut is also a seasonal street food. Boiled groundnut serves for different purposes like while talking to your friends, walking on the road, working at your shops, etc. Some are boiled with salt, which makes them more tasty. This street food is mostly hawked around but it sellers.

PUFF PUFF

Puff puff is one of the most popular Nigeria street food. it’s always spongy, fluffy and delicious. It’s made with flour mixed with sugar and other ingredients. Puff puff is also known as the king of small chops and it mostly sold by those vendors who sell Akara.

PLANTAIN CHIPS

Plantain chips is a crunchy, spicy street snack, sold by hawkers on the streets. They are made either with ripe or unripe plantain or banana. These chips taste so delicious and they are best eaten with cold water or drinks.

DAMBU NAMA

Dambu nama is simply shredded cow meat spiced with pepper, salt an seasonings, sold mostly in the norther part of Nigerian. It is mostly packed in brown envelops and take away packs, Dambu nama is a delicious street snack.

Meet an Igbo Boxer that returned his British Empire Award to Queen Elizabeth because of Biafra war

Richard Ihetu, professionally known as D*ck Tiger, a world renowned Boxer from Imo State in the Eastern part of Nigeria, returned his Commander of British Empire Award to Queen Elizabeth II, in protest against the United Kingdom's involvement in the Biafra war which resulted to death of millions of Biafrans.

The United Kingdom and other countries supported and provided aids and weapons to the Nigerian Army during the war which gave them upper hand against the Biafran Army that were only using locally manufactured weapons to fight the war.

After he returned the Commander of British Empire Award to the Queen, he left Boxing and in solidarity joined the Biafran Army as a Lieutenant whose primary job is to train Biafran soldiers on how to attack the enemies through hand to hand combat.

He was diagnosed of Liver cancer shortly after the war and on December 14, 1971, he died at the age of 42 in a hospital located in Aba, Abia State.
