The event was scheduled for 1st to 7th of April 2023.

We applied for visa and she went to Johannesburg with the National director.

After a week of rigorous trainings, she emerged the winner of the Mini Miss Africa 2023.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected traffic robbers, Usman Mohammed, Azeez Adeleke and Solomon Odiya, in Ikeja.

The spokesperson for the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement in Lagos.

Hundeyin said that the suspects were arrested at about 8:00 p.m. on on June 19, at Mobolaji Johnson Road, Ikeja.

“The suspects were arrested by officers of Alausa Division of the Command following a distress call received by the police about an ongoing robbery attack at Ikeja

“They were apprehended while escaping with their loot after robbing their victims.

“Items recovered from the suspects include one Tecno mobile phone, one dagger and N5,400,” he said.

Hundeyin said that preliminary investigations rrevealedthat the suspects had previously operated in the area a couple of times, snatching belongings of unsuspecting passers-by.

He said that the suspects would be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigations.

Hundeyin assured residents that the Command under the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, would continue to do everything possible to ensure the safety of life and property in the state.

EARLIER: His name is Chukwudi Opara popularly known as Rabbi in our estate. When he moved in newly no one knew his wife and children for at least a year plus.

He locks them inside and does everything for them himself. The wife was not allowed to associate with anyone. An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Wednesday, ordered that a 29-year-old man, Aliu Oladeji, be remanded in a custodial centre for allegedly beating a thief to death.

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the police charged Oladeji, who resides in the Ayedaade area, with conspiracy and murder.

The Magistrate, I. O. Osho, who did not take the plea of Oladeji, ordered that he should be remanded in the Abolongo Custodial Centre, Oyo town, pending legal advice.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Osho adjourned the matter until July 4, for mention.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Inspector Foluke Adedosu, told the court that Oladeji conspired with others in the area to commit the offence.

Adedosu said Oladeji on March 4, around 2.30am, caused the death of one Sodiq, when he beat him up.

According to him, the offence is contrary to Section 316 and punishable under sections 319 and 324 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has alleged of plot to frustrate his governorship ambition through the judiciary.

The Enugu lawmaker made the claims in a statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General of his campaign organization, Hon. Ogbo Asogwa.

He said a suit has already been filed at an Enugu State High Court to stop his guber ambition with an injunction.

Ogbo said in the statement that, “We have in our possession, court processes already filed at the Enugu State High Court, with the aim of using the Enugu State Judiciary to obtain an injunction barring the Senator from contesting the Enugu State gubernatorial election.

“In the suit marked E/254/2022 with Ekweremadu as the Respondent, the Applicant, Chief Oforma Mbannaji from Nike (For himself and on behalf of other members of Enugu East Senatorial District, Enugu State) wants the former Deputy President of the Senate stopped based on a zoning agreement supposedly reached at an expanded Caucus meeting of the Enugu State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on 7th July 2013).

“The matter filed by the Applicant’s counsel, Dr. Peter Aneke, who also hails from Nike, will be heard by Justice Harold Eya on April 28, 2022.

“Sadly, this is yet another display of unmitigated and unconscionable desperation by a people hell-bent on ridiculing and desecrating virtually all critical institutions of democracy just to stop Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s aspiration and impose their lackeys and relations on the people of Enugu State.”

He said the attempt to also drag the Enugu State and Nigerian judiciary into several other plots against his guber ambition “is the height of it and one that the Enugu State Judiciary, the Nigerian Judiciary, the National Judicial Council, and the Chief Justice of Nigeria must never allow to happen.

“We, therefore, call the attention of the Chief Judge of Enugu State, the National Judicial Council, and the Chief Justice of Nigeria to this latest effort to bring this revered arm of government to disrepute.

World Cup 2022: Super Eagles disqualification, good for Nigeria – Williams Uchemba

Nollywood actor, Williams Uchemba has said the disqualification of the Super Eagles from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after losing to the Black Stars of Ghana is needed for Nigeria to realise it is in a ‘hell hole’.

A former head of British spy agency, M16 Russian division, Christopher Steele has said President Vladimir Putin of Russia miscalculated with the war over Ukraine.

Steele said the crippling sanctions on Russia by the international community would have an adverse effect on the country which may lead to the use of a chemical weapon.

He noted that Putin’s regime would ultimately collapse due to the sanctions imposed on Russia by the international community.

Speaking with Sky News, Steele said the sanctions imposed on Russia may lead to protests in Moscow and across the country.

He said: “I don’t see him surviving this in the long term. I think we’ve gone over a watershed here.

“An operation on this scale is really beyond Russia. I think there are several gross miscalculations here by Putin.

“As people’s living standards start to fall, they will be increased protests on the streets of Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities. And I think that will play into probably an elite attempt to remove Putin in due course.

“As the Russian army becomes bogged down, more desperate, and clearly not realising its objectives militarily, you’re likely to see more indiscriminate killing and bombardment and possibly the use of a [chemical] weapon.”

Two weeks ago, Russia had begun a war against Ukraine over its decision to join NATO.

Putin, however, called the invasion of Ukraine a military exercise.

Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church declared on Saturday that Nigeria's future president would not be beyond 70 years old.

Primate Ayodele stated that the next president of Nigeria will have a better administration than his predecessors. DKV.ng Reports

He did, however, advise the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against using the rotating method to determine Nigeria's next president.

In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele stated that God does not support rotation or zoning to determine Nigeria's next president.

He revealed that zoning or rotation would plunge Nigeria into more conflicts than ever before.

The cleric stated that the parties should let aspirants, regardless of number, to compete for the position and allow the public to vote for their preferred candidate rather than invalidate them through rotation.

Primate Ayodele stated that he will provide a more detailed description when God reveals it.

"Rotation or no rotation, the next president of Nigeria will not be over 70 years old."

"The next president will have a better administration than the previous ones, but the parties should not make the mistake of deciding through rotation."

"God is not in favor of it; they should let as many hopefuls as possible to compete and allow the people to select."

"Parties should be concerned with finding the best candidates, not with rotating through them." Rotation will place an incompetent individual in charge, resulting in another catastrophe over the next four years. Let the parties choose the best candidate."
