The Unitary Decree 34 of 1966 and the The Land Use Act of 1978 are the bane of our problems in Nigeria today. This article placed more emphasis on land with no mention of the Oil rich Niger Delta. The Land Use Act transfered ownership of land from the natives to the (military)Governments

duni04: Its very simple, boko haram's defence budget is definitely more than the $14billion Nigeria has spent on defence in the last 3yrs. How else can you explain our defeat?
Yeah
It seems Boko Haram has a fatter account than the Nigerian federation
PoliticsRe: ABEOKUTA: Ex Governor, Others Set To Dump APC For AGN by Evergreeen123: 6:08am On Aug 12, 2014
sojjy: Frankly speaking,if Osoba leave APC for any political party,he will surely be committing a political suicide.Only the enemy of progress will be looking for the down fall of the Governor considering his achievement within the pace of 3years. The best that could happen to Ogun state is seeing Amosun winning again come 2015.
You can say that again

0merta: You can say that again, Bro!

I was born into a Christian home, I have muslim cousins and recently had to retrace My "religio-ancestral" steps back to Ogun, the Yoruba God of War, Iron and metallic Ore; the gods of My Forefathers...

I attended a Cousin's traditional wedding ceremony sometimes last year and the religious tolerance that played out on that day was noteworthy. The Groom, My cousin, a Muslim and his bride, a Christian. There were prayers from an "Alfa", and a "Pastor" in addition to the traditional prayers constantly offered in the name of Ifa and Osun by the Lady Compere, and each prayer was followed by a resounding "Amin" and "Asee", as the case may be.

At the end of the day, there were hugs, handshakes, laughter and greetings among all...with the full awareness that, we are first Yorubas, before being a Christian, Muslim or a Traditionalist...

I think the religious tolerance prevalent among We "Omo Ooduas" should be developed as a Prototype in promoting religious Peace in places like "Alaigbo", Northern Nigeria and the Middle East!

Omo Yoruba ni mi ooooo...Swagger!

grin grin grin
OGBO O ATO O

So you are a devotee of Ogun Lakaye Oshimale? So also is Professor Wole Soyinka.

My favourite Yoruba pantheon is the Oro and i also have christian and moslems as relatives.

We Yorubas are indeed tolerant, civil, cosmopolitan and sophisticated

lakhadimar: There are more churches in Yorubaland than they are anywhere else in Nigeria.

The Yorubas arent bigoted and religiously intolerant like you ibos and hausas.

The redemeed christian church just concluded their convention recently, it was the largest christian gathering in Africa and the venue was at the redeemed camp in Ogun state, Yorubaland. The Osun Osogbo festival will commence next week and as expected, its going to be the largest gathering of African Traditional believers; the venue would be at Osogbo, Osun state, Yorubaland.

When it comes to Religious tolerance, you have to give it to the yorubas
Nice one

The Osun Osogbo festival ought to commence today but it has been postponed till next week monday partly because of the just concluded election. Will you be there?

You are insane. It is very obvious that you do not know Araba Ifayemi Elebuibon.

Araba Ifayemi should be apolitical. I am of the opinion that religous leaders: Christian, Moslem and Traditionalist ought to extricate themselves from politics but when your worthless president was using the picture of himself kneeling before Pastor Adeboye for campaign did you call Adeboye a fake pastor then?

PoliticsRe: Osun Election: 50 Sniffer Dogs, Chemical Weapons Team Deployed by Evergreeen123: 9:01am On Aug 08, 2014
Goodluck jonathan is the worst commander-in-chief in the whole world.

As we write now, the whole of Damboa and Gwoza in Borno state are in the complete control of Boko Haram. All the military formations therein have been completely dislodged with Boko Haram hoisting their black flags all over these two towns.

If half of the soldiers that were deployed to Ekiti for the elections and those presently in Osun are in the North East, i am sure Boko Haram would have been defeated.

Our president is much more concerned with his 2015 ambition rather than protecting the territorial intergrity of the country
