Very good idea, i will tell him about it..2 or 3 days a week isn't bad... May God help us dearie...

What exactly does it do? i mean the lemon-ginger mixure... I have always been a frequenter of rest room because i drink water alot and take fruits in the morning.... The waist training thingy isn't bad at all, heard it achieves results..how much did you buy yours?.. i don't need waist training though cos i'm slim and have a flat tommy..... My dear, every effort is worth it because we are heading into a world of everlasting happiness, Amen cheesy smiley
Amen. cheesy
2-3 days per week is fab! But, can you sustain it? You know the key is in consistency. wink may God help us indeed. smiley

The lemon+ginger hot water drink is a great detox. You know detox cleanses from within.

Lemon is a natural skin bleaching ingredient. It brightens the skin with prolong use. You mentioned you have spots on your face? Squeeze lemon and dab with cotton wool, then apply to your face. It really stings though.

Ginger is excellent for digestive issues. Aids bowel movements.

When you combine those two with warm water, the effect is: a toxin free system which reflects in your skin. No acne! No bloatedness and clear bright skin! I am talking from personal experience. wink

As for waist training, I have a flat tommy too. I didn't think it could be flater. But I wanted the extra sleek, feminine curves that comes with waist training. wink lol. A really good waist training corset goes for like 18k. Totally worth it. Your slim waist will look like a slender Columbian waist. cheesy

I like the results so far. I think I can even sight some baby abs. Lol.

You can't eat ur cake and have it. If you are above 30 and still single, you know ur story. We all had wasted opportunities.
Lol. Not many are wise.

I'm almost done with preparations shaa...
Have sent my ashebi clothes to those involved
Have hired a decorator/ cake maker..
My mum already spoke to a caterer concerning food..my mum is insisting she buys the food stuffs herself, saying she trusts no caterer grin
My fiance hired a stylist who bought and sewed our clothes
He has also taken care of DJ, MC, videography et al...
Then my bro is taking care of drinks/banner....

The only problem we had was choosing our colour but we finally settled for the combination of his favourite colour and mine..

Once i'm done with trad in April, i will focus on my white wedding which comes up in June hopefully...
Congratulations. smiley
You are from the East right?

Yeah, spiritual preparation to me is paramount.. me and my fiance are sure going to fast and pray before the D-day, even though we did in Jan..

For the pre-wedding beauty regime, really not doing much because i'm too busy with work.. My friend recommended tea tree oil/facial wash to me to remove some spots i have on my face, then i am learning some dance steps cheesy

PS: Mine is traditional Marriage..
cheesy
Please try to pray and fast together weekly. You guys can pick a day of the week. You know you aren't just praying for a smooth wedding but for a great marriage ahead. wink we pray the solution to the challenges before they arrive.

I have started some detox stuff. A hot mug of Lemon+ginger first thing in the morning. Mehn it is doing wonders for my skin! Plus I go to the rest room more frequently. I also started waist training this week. Then spa visits a MUST! The list is quite Long sha, but the effort is totally worth it. wink

grin grin grin grin. Thanks Sis. I still believe there's husband for every woman in Nigeria. Men are not scarce as many erroneously adduce. The economy is though, therefore the financial maturity age for men shifted to above 30 (even 40) while women are ready at 21. If our women change their mindset of depending on men, then most girls would marry their school boyfriends & build wealth together. If men are scare how come every university girl has a school sweetheart? The problem is 80% Nigerian girls have their eyes set on another man's money. grin grin
cheesy where did you get that stats from?
Sis. I am feeling you like Phil Collins.

Joke apart, it's good her picture wasn't shown because you can't trust Nigerians with news like this..her pictures will be spread all the over the net and people will wait for her arrival.. or you don't read news pertaining to jungle justice on the front page? undecided
Forget that yarns jor. I'm sure Huffington post, the source from which this news was shared, has her pictures. Besides, her full name is posted. All we need do is employ the services of Google. The case is not a small one, so her pics should be all over the net by now. Make I go check.

I also don't agree with ladies who say African men are scared of successful women. It depends on the quality of men you are hanging out with. If you are a woman with success in career and finances, men in ur class can never be scared of you. What do you have or know that they don't? I still give example with myself....though I earned more, he was never scared any bit rather he was cautious if I would respect him. When he found out I was humble and respected who he was and what he does for a living, he got bolder and took control as a man. If you earned more or have higher education don't rub it in people's face.
Gurl smiley
You and I have so much in common! wink I could swear you are my clone. cheesy Choi! shocked

But then, let's not rule out the fact that people share their opinions and perspectives to issues based on personal experiences.

For all we know, those women may have only been exposed to men who are really insecure.

But in the end the decision by some women to build their career before marriage, pays off. It gives them class even in the search for a husband. The dilemma is when a woman was not building her career, was not acquiring advanced education, yet turn above 30, without a husband, without even a good job, or a strong investment. What was she doing? If i were men too, I'd be cautious of such a lady. Sisters need to be focused too.
cheesy true!

I totally agree. You attract what you can handle. This is why I advocate that single ladies should work at reaching the height they can attain.

But in the end. When God blesses you with a good man, there's no limit to how much more you can grow. smiley

Wow. I am soo glad I stumbled on this thread! How come I am just seeing it though? sad

My wedding was fixed for March 28. I'm sure you guys know by now what a wedding on that date in Naija means. cheesy

Anyways, we had to move it to May cos we already paid for reception venue and all other dates after the first date was already booked. May was the closest we could get.

I'm practically not doing anything as regards planning. I have a great support system thank God.

Also, no asoebi! I no get strength to ask people for money. Just wear anything that matches the color of the day. Family insists on getting their asoebi though.

Also, no brides/grooms men. LOL. Just maid of honor and best man.

Lool.. my thoughts exactly, but having so many aunties with dominant personalities makes it kinda hard to stand up for myself
Don't bother! I am a very strong, independent kinda gurl.

But when it came to planning the wedding, I took the back seat. LOL. Marriage is the important thing but the wedding is the gateway, so just go the extra to get it out of the way. LOL.
FamilyRe: Wedding Palava: Church Wedding, Court or Traditional?? by Evina(f): 1:16pm On Mar 05, 2015
Dear lolaredvelvet,

I totally understand your plight, as I had a quite similar situation.

Worse was, we wanted to have an outdoor wedding where the pastor will come join us and reception holds at the same venue, cos it is a garden right?

Parents in law said NO WAY! Lol. That if it is not in a church building, it will not be recognized by God. shocked cheesy . The back and forth between my fiance and his parents was getting too intense. I didn't even want the white wedding in the first place! So I had to pacify my "oga" to agree with his parents just to get the whole ceremony over with.

So many requirements from the church that can stress you out, but you have to keep your goal in view.

During the marriage class, there was this couple, the guy is based in the US and had to come all the way to go through the class for 2months. He is getting married next weekend.

You have to ask yourself if it's worth the sacrifice and if it is, you know what to do. wink

Only you know what you are saying. Do you know how may years it takes to get a PhD or build a stable career to a middle management level? There are women who need a little more from life than marrying early and having babies. Such women are not meant for every man. It's not about quantity rather quality.
Exactly!

I had to make a conscious decision to take the leap this year. I realized I was putting career before the really amazing man God gave me. And I didn't even know it! Even when family and friends always pointed that out to me.

It is really tough for ladies who are career driven to put a career they are passionate about on hold.
