meobizy: Jollof rice was imported here to us from Senegal. It is named after their people [Wolof] but you know how names get muddled when passed around hence the one we all know it as. They still make the best even till this day. Ask any Ghanaian or Nigerian whose gone there and they will confess immediately. ok but within Nigeria itself which tribe makes the best jollof, or at least which tribe in Nigeria is jollof most associated with even if it origins from elsewhere |

pazienza: Goes to show how impervious to reasoning and common sense some people can be, if you had to produce this reply to justify a very wrong conclusion of Igbo culture being weaker than Yoruba culture, as ignorantly propagated by redbone, despite plethora of evidence produced by Bigfrancis and other posters here to explain the reasons for the seemingly dominance of Yoruba religion and cultural imprints in the Americas.
I can't come online to boast of how much I had contributed to Ndiigbo, but I'm damn sure that people who believe Igbo culture is inferior to that of any group are completely incapable of contributing to Igbo uplifltment, for one can't offer what one lacks. hon, is there a different way in which the igbo and Yoruba tribes cook jellof rice, which one sweet pass pls |

Food › Re: Carrot Jollof Rice: How To Prepare Jollof Rice With Carrot And No Tomatoes by ewa26: 12:50pm On Jul 03, 2018 |
vinegurl: My dear there is no specific way the Igbo or the Yoruba tribe prepare jollof rice. It all depends on what you want to add or not add to your jollof rice.
One may decide to add crayfish to it or more peppers and vegetables while another person may not add any of these. I only know the Yorubas love so much pepper in thier dishes but I'm not really sure if they like their jollof rice very spicy, but I do know thar both tribes use tomatoes to make jollof rice.
Yes old Igbo women cook party jollof rice, obviously they prepare smoky party jollof rice using firewood.
To your last question: jollof rice is not peculiar to any tribe in Nigeria. It is a general dish in Nigeria.
Hope have answered you? oo ok Tnx dear, erm just one last question now do you think there’s a way different states in Igboland cook their jollof rice, say Anambra vs imo Owerri state vs Enugu, any tiny differences there Tnx so much for answering love |

RedboneSmith: First thing you need to know about me is: I don't give a rotten tomato and a chicken's toe about your bible. One minute your Yahweh is punishing Mariam for making fun of Moses' black Nubian wife (which means Yahweh is pro-interracial marriage); the next minute He is telling the Hebrews not to mix with Canaanites.
