Syncan: Please find out what makes a road federal or state.

We all know the existing Niger bridge is a federal rd. Are you telling me tht the state govt can not decide to build another naija bridge whether 2nd or 3rd or 4th?of course they can as long as they can raise the funds and get the applicable legislation. There can be as many bridges as possible over the river naija.
so many roads tht used to be Trunk A roads in Lagos have been taken over by the state i.e Ikorodu rd now funsho williams,obalende, Lagos badagry express rd,so many roads on the island e.t.c.
If The sate govt had been proactive enuf and proffer options to the FG they wiil be more than willing to support them in building the 2nd niger bridge as a state/ppp project,an example at hand is the light rail project in Lagos. Its a tripartite arrangement btw the FG,LASG and world bank.
Had LASG just sat on thr butt and kept whinning abt the FG not doin anythng abt inadequate transport insfractructure would tht projeect hav seen the light of day.

Syncan: You actually have every right to feel this way, however, it will be a failed campaign strategy if by the end of 2014, we do not have about 50% completion. On Anambra and Delta State combining for a PPP, do not forget that that is a federal road,no knowledgeable company operating in Nigeria will enter into such a concession without the federal govt. And that's what Obi has been pushing for.

Hear your self. we r talking abt the 2nd naija bridge totally diff from the old one, with its own link roads. Looking at the distance btw asaba and onitsha i do not think its too much of a distance and its somthing the stste can do on their own without having to wait for the FG and allowing themselves to be continually fooled. The states govt can build a second bridge thru PPP.

This was when they were still very beautiful and sweet a far cry from wht thy luk like now.

Your political postulation is totally wrong and its tainted with obvious GEJ sycophancy. Your GEJ has achived nothng in his 3 yrs in office. However GEJ is not the problem with Nigeria but PDP as a party is the problem and with the way the party operates even if obama were to be president of Nigeria under PDP, he will fail. PDP is an ultra consevative party that seeks to keep the status quo and you and i know tht Nigeria needs a radical cum progressive ideological change. First of this is true federalism and not this superfluos contraption that PDP promotes.

Gbawe is right. The PDP has totally marginalised the south west and GEJ who is trying to usurp the power brokers in the SW has gotten it all wrong by doling partronage to those who cannot even deliver there street.

This is a call to other regions to realise the same and join the south west in demanding for true federalism.This is what can guarantee the speedy development of naija and i will neva support the PDP no matter the candidate if they dont promote true federalism.

If his people like let them vote for him.Imagine the kind of personalities the Ijaw people are throwing up as heroes. Naija govt will not see this as a source of inflow into the economy and seek cogent ways of promoting the diasporans such as strenghtening our foreign missions, seeking better protection for nigerians in diaspora, making diasporans participate in their choice of govt e.t.c.
They are only busy granting pardon to those who take our money out and granting amnesty to south south economic saboteurs.

I dont belive this. If someone can get suspended in naija for arse licking then 99% of nigerians will be out of work and even GEJ must be booted out for not knowing that some of those he granted state pardon had alredy being pardoned in 1999.You are all gulity of this.

They keep promising but do nothing and i know this will be no diff. Anambra govt house is about to be vacant and 2015 is around the corner.

This is like the 1000th time the FG has promised to start work on the 2nd Niger bridge. Now GEJ is playing this card for 2015 by goin ahead to deceive our south east brodas. Gov. Obi on the other hand has dissapointed me on this issue. For a city that is as commercially viable like Onitsha a PPP option btw the state govts of Delta and Anambra state and a private concessionaire cannot be too dificult. Why wait to go cap in hand to beg abuja to build this bridge. This is either lack of foresight or outright laziness on the part of Gov.Obi.

Lets wait and see how this pans out

thelastPope: This is a fact and it isn't new. Go and check all the news and even threads on NL dating back as much as 3 to 4 years and you will see it clearly. Alameisegha was the biggest factor behind the Niger Delta amnesty.

Whether you agree that that is enough for him to get pardon is another debate entirely. But it is a known fact that Alameseigha was the man that got the militants to drop their arms and accept amnesty. He still remains a respected leader because of what he did for those guys over the years.

You will be fooolish to expect that those youths will throw him under the bus because of his corruption case when he has really helped them for years.
