Yes that's my thread. A single box of that battery contains 1,120 18650 cells and every single cell was tested for Charge Temp, Discharge Temp, Capacity & Self Discharge, but the Joncrix guy thought it should cost a meagre.

There are companies that make a living repurposing EV cells. Go on eBay and you will see them. Bigbattery.com does brisk business repurposing cells.
The people selling you a battery should tell you that. They should not quote the original capacity of the cells. If they were at 100% they would still be in the vehicles.
Yes I know all these cos I am in the battery building system. A repurposed 3000mah single 18650 cell migth not still have a 3ah capacity. Now, I have to retest such cell and get the real capacity left, then I can assemble them and rate them based on my own calculated info.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 9:23am On Jan 12, 2024
The other day when I started posting adverts about building Lithium ion batteries, someone quickly pointed out why I shouldn't be taken serious because I use "repurposed genuine Samsung, LG, Panasonic cells"

I read those posts and laughed. If I use brand new cells, that person can't afford it.

Using repurposed cell isn't the problem, the problem is was the cells scrutinised and the real capacity reported?

I used to say to myself, if I assemble a real 5kwh battery, a same rated Felicity battery can't match it!

Yohako should disclose that they are selling repurposed cells.
A lot of the "China" lithium batteries use repurposed cells. Even Felicity migth not be innocent.

Yes I said it also. A certain newbie manufacturer could. Top ones wouldn't!

Maybe you COULD!!! get from DEALERS who get supplies from these manufacturers but I doubt it.

Open it and check for dust or other particles that could've clogged the flex on the board.

Yes lithium ion do have higher nominal voltage but the voltage sag is more noticeable on lithium ion than lfp.

Please check my modified post
They have different operating curves.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 9:12pm On Jan 11, 2024
dacool1:
Yes, lfp handles load better than lithium ion because lfp has a more stable voltage during its discharge. Lithium ion can also be discharged to 80% but voltage will be much lower and this affects inverters performance.

For comparison, LFP fully charged at13.6v and 12.9v at 80% Dod while lithium ion 12.6v at fully charged and 12.0v at about 20% DOD. Note the voltage difference.

Most times, inverters will hit LVD on some load while using lithium ion despite having a lot of juice but it rarely happens when you make use of LFP (especially when your battery bank is not large).

Though you can correct this by changing the configuration of the lithium ion by changing from 3s to 4s but this usually cause a problem with getting the voltage to work with your inverter especially 12v systems.

Maybe it's one 3000W one I know...

There's this tranxless inverter labelled 3000w, the board can't power 500w.

A friend of mine bought it from a warehouse and showed me. I showed him a better one and used the "fake 3kW" as UPS for my TV.

The end users of Grade A cells are top manufacturers.

LG would not sell their top grade cells to a random someone who just wants to assemble even a 50kwh Energy system.

Maybe Grade A cells of some upcoming brands sha!

IMO, Grade A cells aren't accessible to random end users.

Well, that might help improve your performance. Your freezer and other appliances should only be used during the day, you will have to reduce your "sun-down" loads to a max of 200w. If you are lucky not to have damaged your batteries your inverter should go off around 1 - 2am.

In order to continuously power the load of over 600watts after sunlight till the next sun light you need a minimum of 10 220ah batteries. If you buy less than that be ready to replace your batteries in about 12 to 18 months.

So my advice, power the heavy loads during the day and manage your load once it's sundown. Your current battery back up can only support a about 100w after sundown till the next sunlight.
10 x 220ah batteries to power 600W load for about 20hours?

Renewable energy isn't something u want to make assumptions for. U are dealing with a finite amount of energy unlike NEPA that would power everything u throw at it, na ur mthly bill go suffer am.
I hope u know there are some bungalows with more electrical appliances than a duplex. So saying its a duplex without specifying ur appliances is leaving urself at the mercy of ur installer.
Brightsolar has given u his package list though so u can guide urself with it or if you are DIY, assemble ur own solar system urself and just pay for installation. Peace !
Exactly my thoughts when I read his "I assume any installer should have an idea of basic loads to carry."

I no dey quote with house type. Load analysis must dey.

The tiny strand of wire (fuse wire) is supposed to be connected to a thick copper individually.

See the attached image... The yellow line is supposed to be a thick copper, then the fuse wire (red lines) taps from each cell to it.

What am saying is it doesn't work with all inverters.
And what I say is "if you match with exact rating or more of another mosfet" it should work with ALL nverters.

It's not like there's a sense pin or signal from the mosfet the inverter use to check the replaced one.

Once the installed resistor can fully turn on and drain the mosfet according to the frequency the mosfet are driven, and the mosfet can handle the power they're installed for, the inverter can not tell if the mosfet inside it is Model X or Y

Resistance, D/SCapacitance, Rise Time, etc. Match these closely and replacement should work.

Baba it doesn't work well.
Experienced...
Especially psw inverter.
Won't like to argue then.

But dyou think you can always get the EXACT model number of every inverter mosfet?

Do you repair inverters? Cos I do and have confirmed it many times. You don't just swap in mosfet because they look alike, you look up their specs. If it matches in rating, NOTHING wouldn't make it work.

That's why every single of these devices have something called DATASHEET.

dollarnaira:
He used a mismatched mosfet but working though. It will never perform well unless the exact number on the mosfet is used. There are mosfets that can be used interchangeably in other electronics devices but the practice seems not to work with inverters.
It doesn't have to be the EXACT number of the manufacturer's mosfet. It can be same or more rated specifications.

Wow! Brand name batteries with their fake capacity labels. grin

But most people would think a locally built battery with real same capacity should be cheap!

Meanwhile, my "Locally Built" 24V 200Ah Real Capacity Lithium-ion battery is still available. Coupled with a Local Brand BMS and Super Active Balancer.

Again! It is not cheap!!!
