TV/Movies / Breaded Life Movie - What's Your Review? by ewondertv(m): 2:22am On May 21, 2021
Today, I finally got to watch the Breaded Life Movie.

Breaded Life is a dramedy film written and directed by Biodun Stephen. The movie is a spinoff of the 2016 romantic comedy, Picture Perfect. As of May 15th, Breaded Life has made a whopping sum of N72 million.

Breaded Life tells the tale of an irresponsible young man, who wakes up to find that no one can recognize him except a local bread seller. This movie idea was inspired by Olajumoke Orisaguna’s story. Olajumoke is a local bread seller who rose to fame and got a modelling contract when she accidentally photobombed a pop star.

Now to my review,

#1 Concept Delivery - The Breaded life movie portrayed a tale where an irresponsible rich kid named “Fresh Boi Sumi” was thrown to the wolves to fend for himself. He became extremely poor and the only person that could recognize him was a local bread seller called ‘TODOWEDE’. TODOWEDE in turn assisted him to pick up his life. This scenario can only happen in a fantasyland. The writer of the Breaded Life movie “Biodun Stephen” brilliantly emphasized the fact that the whole story of the movie was Sumi’s dream while he was in a coma. Although, the viewers were kept in suspense.

#2 Brilliant Performances - If you watch the breaded life movie, ‘You will laugh’, ‘You will cry', and ‘You will learn to love.’ The hero of the movie 'Fresh Boi Sumi' played by 'Timini' was able to overcome his struggles through the help of 'TODOWEDE' played by Bimbo Ademoye. I can’t explain my excitement watching Timimi’s performance as a hustler.

#3 Pepperoni Sounds - The songs for the breaded life movie were mixtures of original and popular beautiful music. I called them ‘Pepperoni Sounds’ because they masterfully blended within the storyline of the movie. Notable exceptional songs in the #Breadedlivemovie were ‘Orun n Mooru’ by ‘Brymo’ , ‘Kokanmi’ by ‘Qdot’ , ‘Gbese’ by ‘Elison Jagaboss’ and “Bigsheff” Femi Leye also scored some music for #breadedlifemovie.

#4 Extraordinary Performance - TODOWEDE played by Bimbo Ademoye was extremely hilarious with her unique Yoruba accent.

#5 Cinematography - The cinematographer of the Breaded Life Movie delivered many amazing shots that adequately supported the storyline.

#6 Perfect location – Some scenes were shot at Agege Market. At a point, Area Boys disrupted the filming of the Breaded Life movie.

#7 Perfect Ending – Realizing that the whole story was a dream that Sumi had while he was in a coma earned the movie a fantastic ending .

#8 Continuity Problem - Timini was seen with one type of hairstyle commonly known as “Skin” throughout the entire movie. The average cycle of his time in a coma/as a hustler was more than a month. Nigerian core hustlers don’t usually have money for food and accommodation talk less of cutting their hair.

Also, the fact that you are in a coma does not mean that your hair will not continue to grow. I expected some level of growth in his hair.

#9 In my opinion, the movie cannot be classified as either a ‘Sequel’ or ‘Spinoff’ of the Picture Perfect movie. The only character that was transferred from the Picture Perfect movie to the Breaded life movie was Jobe’s character. Bisola’s Aiyeola’s role in Breaded Life movie as ‘Anty Agi’ was completely different compared to her role as ‘Kiksy’ in Picture Perfect movie.

Furthermore, I learned a lesson from #Breadedlifemovie. I learned to assist people at times of their weakness and reciprocate love to people who assist me.

Finally, I enjoyed the movie and rated the #Breadedlifemovie with 4.7/5.

TV/Movies / Prophetess Movie Review by ewondertv(m): 10:43am On Apr 21, 2021
eWonder presents everything good and everything bad with the Prophetess movie.

Prophetess is a comedy flick that centred on people’s desire to win big from gambling versus religious leader’s ability to predict the future. The prophetess movie was produced by Victoria Akujobi, Mimidoo Bartels & Matilda Sola. This amazing movie was directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.

On April 2nd, 2021, Prophetess was released across all Nigerian cinemas. As of April 11th, Prophetess was the highest-grossing Nollywood film released in 2021, ahead of ‘Still Falling’ and ‘Ponzi’. #Prophetessthemovie has made a whopping sum of N73 Million already and still counting.

Prophetess's story revolved around Woli Ajoke, a local prophetess, who gained fame from her prediction of future events. Her prediction of the outcome of a football match between Gidi FC and Wondaboyz resulted in a chain of events beyond her control.

Prophetess movie is a masterpiece that was brilliantly delivered with a fusion of burning issues in two giant socio-economic sectors in Nigeria. Gambling + Religion

Technology Market / Fingerprint Biometric, Bandit Can Cut My Finger And Withdraw My Money. by ewondertv(m): 8:31am On Mar 12, 2021
...Long thread loading...

Fingerprint Biometric, Are we ready for this technology in Nigeria?
Back in 2012, I had an interview with the First bank and one of the interviewers asked me. As an internal auditor, what do you think is the best solution against the impersonation of customer’s personal accounts? I instantly mentioned “Biometric”.

All the four interviewers looked at me with their eagle eyes. I felt as if I mentioned something that sounds very foreign to them. I heard their inner voices from the look on their faces. it sounded like “that is not the best solution against the impersonation of customer’s personal accounts, we are not even ready".

In 2012, customers, banks, regulators and Nigerian society were not even near ready. Smartphones like Samsung and iPhone were recently introduced to us. Although I was ready to terminate my interviewers if they even asked me to defend myself, unfortunately for them, the thing was very foreign to the Nigerian environment, so they decided to let it slide.

Looking back today, I come to realize that even some biometric types like Fingerprint, Facial recognition etc have their issues.

*Biometric is not secret and can be easy to copy, unlike our pin and passwords. They are everywhere.
*Biometric hardware are sometimes not foolproof. They can be fooled.
* Biometric data can be stolen/hacked and reused.
*Biometric enrolment issues.
*False rejection/acceptance rate.
*Coupled with the insecurity problem in Nigeria.

Before now, bandit will kidnap you and your ATM card, take you to a lonely ATM Machine to withdraw your hard-earned money. Now they don’t even need you. All they need is your finger and your BVN. I won’t be surprised if we start hearing that people’s fingers are missing during their sleep. This will only occur if these fingerprint biometric ATMs hardware cannot detect that fingers are live.

Don’t misquote me fingerprint biometric is a very good technology for banking. GTB, Access, Sterling and Zenith have introduced the technology. With the latest FCMB news, it will gradually become a norm for Nigerian society.

If you ask me again in 2021, how can we solve the problem of impersonation of customer's personal accounts in banks and other financial institutions? I will still mention fingerprint biometric as my first choice. But now I am asking the same question in the mind of my four interviewers, 9 years after...Are we (Customers, banks, regulators and Nigeria society at large ) ready for this fingerprint biometric technology?

How can we reduce the risks that I mentioned above?

1. Make the use of fingerprint biometric technology in the ATM exclusively voluntary for the customers through former paper requests. Let customers accept the risks that come with this kind of technology.

2. Implement technologies with the ability to detect whether a finger is live and may also match it with additional data such as the fingerprint on a Smart ID card.

3. Improve cybersecurity practices including serious security awareness for bank customers.

4. Nigerian government should be serious in solving the problem of insecurity.

5. The CBN should ensure strict regulations and conducts a serious periodic audit of the CBN regulatory framework for BVN on Banks and other Financial Institutions.

TV/Movies / Kasanova Is A Nollywood Movie On Another Level by ewondertv(m): 3:52pm On Jul 11, 2020
At first glance at the trailer of Kasanova, I was more like, can this be a Nollywood movie, or am I watching another African-American Hollywood made movie?.

The story behind Kasanova revolved around a certain widower who, after losing his wife to cancer, became very wayward and was always after women. Femi (Wale Ojo) played the role of a Kasanova, and his son Jason (Abayomi Alvin) was the star actor in the movie.

When we first met Femi, he was jogging with his son, Jason (Abayomi Alvin), a wannabe musician. While starring at Derriere, a fellow runner, he tripped and hurt himself. A couple of scenes later, he was in a bar with his friends, and he was busy talking about how women are very untrustworthy. Jessica (Ireti Doyle), who played the role of a renowned musician, was also at the bar and, she was having a bad day. She was close to the table where Femi and his friends where. When she’s had enough of their mortifying talk, She gave them a piece of her mind. Femi responded with the usual, “you are a lonely woman.” She fired back with “men like you, being single is perfect.”

Jessica is a single mother, and her daughter, “Ini” (Ruby Akubueze), attends the same school as Jason. The two don’t get along, but Jason was planning to get Ini to love him… So that he can later break her heart because Ini has an Ice Queen character that makes Jason angry.

Jason gets shortlisted to train with Jessica for a music concert, his father drove him to her house, not knowing Jessica was the same lady from the bar.
A confrontational exchange happened between Femi and Jessica because of what happened at the bar, with Jason and Ini watching their parent exchange words.

I didn’t enjoy Kasanova. It’s okay, you can shoot me. I mean, my reviews seem to be more positive than negative, but sorry, I can’t deal.
I get it, your favourite Nollywood actors were in Kasanova but hear me out, please.
The comedy part of this Romcom was the bomb, but the romance churned my belly. I just couldn’t flow with the whole vibe.

Story:
Kasanova was boring for me. I didn’t enjoy the story. The twist was expected, and the ending was lazy. Kasanova could have done better. A story like this is better narrated than seen in a cinema. Nothing spectacular or worth fussing over. End of story!

Acting
Everyone who was supposed to be funny in Kasanova was hell funny. The comedy was top notch. Helen Paul was 100%. I loved watching the short time that she popped up on the screen. It felt as though Ruby Akubueze was trying not to forget her lines, her acting was bland and boring. Toyin Abraham never disappoints, she was awesome. Maybe Ireti Doyle should never be on a piano in subsequent movies.

I am going to be rating Kasanova 7/10. More efforts were needed.

TV/Movies / Picture Quality, Editing And Directing Are Astonishing For The Royal Hibiscus by ewondertv(m): 10:10am On Jul 08, 2020
If you are looking for a typical modern Nigeria Nolly-wood movie with artistic writing that is full of comics, romance, and lots of emotional display, “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel” will definitely get you that. The movie purely shows how some rich people in our society live their lives, just like the saying the rich also cries.

The parent of Ope (Zara Balgoun), Rose (Rachael Oniga) and Segun ( Jide Kosoko) wanted their daughter to come home and get married, but Ope was so focused on her career as a chef and wanted to open her own restaurant in London. However, the chance for her to get her own restaurant started was refused, and her wannabe chief chef was always getting her exasperated.

On the other hand, Deji (Kenneth Okolie) is a real estate investor with his friend Martin (Deyemi Okanlawon), who has helped him identify that TRHH is for sale and he is interested in buying off the hotel from Ope’s parents.

TRHH shows that both career and love can both work arm in arm without harming or getting hurt on the way. Ope loves her career but not that she does want to get married but need to wait for the right time to come before she falls in love.

Much can be made from the movie, Deji met Ope first at the airport without knowing he was going to meet her again at THHH but thanks to the fate that brought them back together, Deji clearly fell in love with Ope creating a romantic moment in the movie. The movie would have been perfect if not a few errors, but note these errors are so bijou that you won’t observe it.

BADS

The movie is beautiful except for some shortcomings. Nollywood Filmmakers are used to putting Nolly-wood legendaries in a cameo, the likes of Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs should have played some very important role other than the role they were used for in the movie.

With the above said, the scene of bumping into someone before actually meeting them to become friends is now really getting boring in movies these days, and another route should be taking to make people meet than just taking bumps at each other.

The comic aspect of the secretary (Kemi Lala Akindoju ) trying to lure Deji is annoying, and the actor in that role doesn’t deserve to be in that role, she messed the job up wasn’t funny to watch, I feel the writers should have done better than that in that aspect of the movie to create a unique view other than taking the easy route.

But in all, I am still going to score this movie very high because the quality of the picture is superb, and the editing and directing are astonishing. I must confess lots of money was also spent to shoot the London scenes and then coming back to Nigeria Lagos to pull the rest. I must say a big kudos to the movie writer and the director because this is beyond average.

So because of this, I am scoring the royal hibiscus hotel 8/10.

Music/Radio / Is It That Yemi Alade Is Still Searching For The Real Johnny…boyz Video Review. by ewondertv(m): 10:09am On Jun 25, 2020
The song "Boyz" by Yemi Alade has a happy mode feeling in it. The afro-beat song-tress dish out a perfect video that would make you want to dance and the groove to the song. Also, the content is fresh and very pleasant to the ear.

Yemi Alade came up with almost the same lyrical message every time. If you could remember her song in 2013, "Johnny," in that song, she said, "I am looking for my Johnny." Is it that Yemi Alade is still searching for the real Johnny, or is it just a lyrical expression that she feels like adding?

Yemi Alade has a very good range of vocals. Even her artistic partner confirmed that she brings lots of energy into her songs or songs she is featured. Yemi reminds me of Onyeaka that woman has energy that Yemi is having now with very important lyrical content in her song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZxu1P6GlFQ&feature=emb_logo

I like the fact that the dance moves in boyz are the currently trending moves. These dance moves where done at a pace at which everyone can learn it. Another thing I love about the feature is the colour of every image on the video. It is lovely and beautiful to watch repeatedly.

The video for "Boyz" was shot by Paul Gambit, one of the legendary names in the Nigerian music video section. He created an outstanding concept. The video reminds me of the video for Skelewu by Davido. Boyz video has every scene that Skelewu had. The dance moves were epic, and Yemi made some cool moves with the dance step.

Rating…
I will be rating the video over 10

In general, I am scoring the Video 8/10. The Video is "Very Good" and worth watching.

Music/Radio / Album Review: Kelvin Boj – Man On A Mission by ewondertv(m): 9:26am On Jun 25, 2020
Since changing his name from Laylow to Kelvin Boj, he hasn’t put out enough content to make his new name known. But with this fifteen track album, Kelvin Boj looks set to take the Industry in awesome.

This album has a lot of featured act from Nigeria A-list to International artists and producers, Skiibii, young mal, Dej loaf, Spellz, Gucci mane, Lil kesh, and Zaytoven are all the names on the album as featured artists.
Before he moved to Atlanta Georgia he produced some hit single for the late Dagrin, the CEO himself (Chief executive Omoita).

Boj’s album “Man on Mission” can be defined as a mixed genre album where you have Afrobeat, Trap, afro-fusion, and the Hippop sound; Kelvin sounded different, unlike when was known as “Laylow” and seemed very matured on these songs.

The first track “intro of man on a mission”, is the first track from the album with a lot of afro-fusion in it, it a modern kind of afrobeat now called afro-fusion it a mixture of different drums and sound.. the introduction on the sounded like a Dbanj kind of song, but Boj delivered an absolute masterpiece on the beat and made it his own.

Party is the second song on the album which was produced by one of Americans top producers Zaytoven. Party sounded more like a Trap song but Boj came in with a very very good vibe and made the sound unique.
With his cracky voice, Party is one of the best song on the album. The third track almost followed the same route but has a salsa favour in it, and it was produced by Spellz, one of Nigeria’s heavyweight producer. Kangaroo is well produced.

Whip-up is the fourth track on the album where he features Gucci mane. This song is a typical hip-pop song and Boj really did justice to the chorus & his verse. He didn’t fail to deliver up to standard, and Gucci mane added the flavour of American of hip-pop to it.
Looku looku is a word in Nigeria to quality jealous people, looku looku is the fifth track on the album, which was self-produced by BOJ. He did a wonderful job on the production and voicing generally his lyrical component defines what the title quote.

The best track on the album is mama where he featured Skiibii. The song is just the fusion of Zanku, baba Fela style. Mama is number six on the album track-list, but this is referred to as Afro-pop by writers. This kind of song has been attributed to Wizkid and Joeboy most recently, Skiibii was really an elite of the trade here, and he made it look very easy to sing….(lol).

Also, Boj came with a very catchy hook and verse that is easy to remember and very memorized. Bad could have been a very good track but lacks some element that is excepted from a big name like Kelvin Boj.

I won’t be discussing the whole album but just the very important song so the next song is the one he features Young Mal. Floss is a trap song where Boj excels with a good hook.

Young Mal wasn’t too good with the lyrics on this particular song he was sounding more like an upcoming artist and I personally was disappointed with his delivery on the song.

There some tracks on the album that should have been left out of the album, the plug, my ride or die, and higher higher should have been left out of the album these tracks are not qualified to be on the album.

Kiss me kiss me is a perfect love song that can turn on a woman and make her fall in love again with his man. The song has top-notch lyrics with good lyrics and arrangements.

Mukulu mukeke is a song that helps kelvin Boj proposes a relationship to her woman, and the word Mukulu mukeke meaning “enjoyment” in Yoruba language. Boj wants to make her come to enjoy his wealth and life with him.

Final thoughts,
Kelvin gives a good account of his versatility in this album “man on a mission,”. However, he was exposed in some of his tracks. This is because the album was too long and did need that much song to make an album.

Rating…
I will be rating the album over 10

In general, I am scoring the album 8/10. The album is “Very Good” and worth buying.

Celebrities / The Excellent Blacks Forget Not All Africans Can Be Excellent…Seun Kuti by ewondertv(m): 3:29am On May 21, 2020
Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti has shared his thoughts about black excellence which according to him “is engaging in a noble but futile effort to combat victimhood”.
He wrote ;
Black excellence is vibrant, artistic athletic, intelligent, beautiful but it’s fatal flaw? It’s IRRESPONSIBLE!!! The excellent blacks forget not all Africans can be excellent and if our humanity is suddenly pegged at excellent and perfect what happens to all of us who don’t fit into this category. Most Africans are normal, we can’t jump or run fast. We can’t sing and dance or make beautiful clothes. We are just normal people. I don’t get it?
Are we saying the entire African people must strive for perfection and excellence before we are respected as humans? Moreover, many of the images I see promoting this ideology is basically African people trying to ‘outwhite the whites’!! And many of them have white peoples name sprawled all over them and they say it’s a brand and I’m like yea, that’s what they called it when they burnt it into the skin of your ancestors also, 200 years later and u are branding urself in the name of success.

Celebrities / Ass-kissing Is Exhausting...Simi Talks About The Challenges Women Face. by ewondertv(m): 3:15am On May 19, 2020
Simi shared her thoughts about the challenges women face in their journey to becoming successful.

The spotify phenomenal woman stated that women are so strong and sweat blood for a spot at a table that disrespects their sweat. She added that women also end up convincing people that they deserve a spot at the table.

She tweeted;

If I didn't vent, I woulda stayed mad. How's ur day going?

I woke up angry today cos of a conversation I had before bed. Women are so strong. So OBVIOUSLY strong. You sweat blood for a spot at a table that disrespects your sweat. Then you spend EVERY SINGLE DAY convincing people you belong there. And the damn table isn't even all that.

And when you say "Bleep it. My life, my rules." They ask why. It's because it never ends. Nothing is ever enough. And complaining is a waste of time. This is why most of the women that STAY winning have to win on their own terms. Ass-kissing is exhausting.
