Your case is an exception. So yes it's true, they rarely help their exes.

Besides,
Licking your own vomit is not an easy pill to swallow esp in Nigerian society, the man is already moved on and the woman, bitter and angry for the most part. And the concubines ? Another drama chapter entirely grin

But yes for the sake of the kids, you gotta do what you gotta do. it's alright I guess. Things are changing.

My Caucasian friend have shared custody with her ex , even though she hates his guts and cusses him out every now & then grin . they are in good terms and always on same page when it comes to their kids.

This is actually a good topic to discuss OP.

Today, I learnt, brothers and sisters, it's okay for a woman to verbally abuse her man but wrong for that man to physically abuse the woman in retaliation. Lot of jokers on here.

Quick question; what should be done when a woman verbally abuse her man, damages his phone and locks his shirt preventing him from "walking out like a perfect gentleman" just like some of you advised?
Honestly dear, besides walking away I don't know another method of de-escalating an aggressive situation like what you just described up there.

Reterliation in anger considering the fact that men are stronger ; may lead to worse physical damage or even death. undecided you don't want that do you?

My dear, for how long will he keep packing a bag? What if his wife is the type that insists he talks and tries to prevent him from walking, some people don't like to be ignored when talking to you, what do you advise him to do?
Well, we disagree on men and women not being equal, so if I hit my man first, he should hit me back and yea, I know men are physically stronger than women, this is why I will restrain myself from verbally, physically or emotionally abusing him, and if in any case he abuses me first, then he will pay for it.
What you described up there is no more a happy marriage but a hell hole.

And begs the question : why would a gentleman marry a rascal dog with no decorum and self control?
If he has to go out everytime to cool off then both families must sit down and talk about this, afteral its not a do or die and its not acceptable to be bullied by my better half from the comfort of my home. Hia.. We must call the elders for a round table intervention abeg.

That's why its advisable to date for a while before saying I DO.

My dear, I don't get the 'opposite attract' idiom, I think its a recipe for disaster waiting to kaboom.

Haaa it's not good oo

Even if the baba has been slapping the mum since it's not right, the young man stood up for his mum and that's commendable. Imagine (God forbid) your hubby slapping you at age 60, ah ah kilode.

What is wrong is wrong. I am sure his mum must really appreciate his support(I would hope so)
Ha about that one. Trust me I don't support violence in any form but in every life situation,we should use our brain and wisdom.

I've never witnessed such in my life so I don't know what my next cause of action could be. But I suscribe to the school of thought that when two persons are in heated disagreement, it's wise to remove one person from the situation. (Prolly the quite one coz their next move could be brutal-Physical)

I'm very certain the rancour didn't kick off with a slap right off the bat. If he loves his mother soo dearly , why can't he remove her from the situation instead of waiting till that stage? And if her life is in danger, why is he choosing to leave her behind to die? He's not a good kid.

And we aren't there so let's not get too emotional here.

I'm sorry jare.. No vex smiley

I always wonder why this "nature" excuse can't be readily used for men too.

One mgbeke dolt ( cheesy ) on here said "men should understand that women have wahala, it's their nature. And men are the cause of the constant disagreements between mother in laws and daughter in laws."

Back to the million dollar question; when will women ever take responsibility for their actions?
I'm afraid but NEVER!

And it's So sad coz they're in the majority of the crowd seeking equality ... They are the ones holding that 'cause' backwards from thriving.

They want to eat their cake and hold it. So sad.

freecocoa:
I will keep saying it.

If a woman hits first then she invited whatever she gets, the judge doesn't care who hit harder, he just wants to know who started it.

The issue of domestic abuse is not as one sided and simple as people make it out to be, I have grown enough to realize this, let us face facts please.
My perspective to different life situations is case by case. Therefore I share a different moral on this one , compared to different opinions I've read on this forum so far ( in regards to disagreements&Abuse in relationships)

Nevertheless, I respect everyone's opinion, yours inclusive.

My dear, men's (gays inclusive) physical makeup is likely 10x stronger than women's. If a man lands you a slap during heated argument in angst, I swear you're likely to go down in concoction.

For the record, Abuse of any kind should be widely denounced and condemned. Verbal & emotional abuse hurts more if not even than physical abuse because the thought of those hurtful words will linger in your head for the rest of your life.

Maybe my mentality is shaped in this direction because I grew up among all men and
raised by one. My Daddy said a man who hits a woman is a wussie (easy for him to say) but I say he should pack his overnight bag and take a walk. That's the kind of man I'm willing to raise. A gentleman.

freecocoa:
But is it a bad thing is women control themselves too? Why does it have to be the men who have to learn self control?
Not trying to digress but The equality battle messed things up. Most relationships are 'No holds barred' now, men are not leaving any factors out in regards to being 'equal' but the truth remain that Men are not equal to women in physical strength. Men are stronger and should PLEASE restrain themselves when these tantrums starts.
( I wonder why there's one in the first place?)

Family › Re: Should I Leave My Cheating Wife, Or Have An Affair Of My Own by Ewuro4: 5:10pm On Mar 18, 2015
82sarahluv:
My wife has cheated on me during a tough time for us. We got back together 2 months ago, but I found out she is still in touch with him. Should I leave her, or have an affair of my own? We have a 5 year old son - this is why I'm not able to consider leaving her easily.
Thanks to all of you who have not jumped on the 'having my own affair' part. I only added this as an option because, her having an affair completely shattered my confidence as a man and is affecting my personal and professional life. I have considered an affair as a way to prove to myself that I can still have a partner if we separate. But now I realize how silly that is. I'm going to try talking it out with her again and resolve this like a man, and hope that will restore confidence in myself.
You forgave her and brought her back into your life. You can still make this work.

Call up her family and have a round table discussion. ( excluding yours cos no sane parent will allow such).

If she still persist, I'd tell you what I'd tell my blood brother, cut her off and pick yourself up. Life goes on my dear.
