Family › Re: No Friends To Use As Bridesmaids For My Wedding. I'm Deeply Troubled :( by Ewuro4: 2:46am On May 07, 2015 |
shirazlova: Im a regular contributor here on Nairaland but have had to create a new profile for the sake of being anonymous My problem is that all my life I've struggled to make or maintain female friendships due to one reason or another. Distance, change of location, falling out/unresolved conflict, jealousy, fake friends etc.. It's something I'm ashamed of and I often feel sad that I don't have my clique of friends especially now that I'm about getting married. It saddens me that at this time of my life where I'm supposed to be joyous and be surrounded by girlfriends helping me with wedding preparations, choosing a dress etc, I have no one to call on. I've had to shop for my dress alone which was quite a depressing experience. Everytime my parents or aunties ask of my friends I come up with one story or another or just change the topic completely. My fiancée is very much aware of my lack of friends but he's not bothered by it at all. I'm in my early/mid twenties and I feel so saddened to see other girls my age with lots of girlfriends. I have a big family however most of my cousins are male. How do I go about doing my wedding with no bridesmaids whatsoever! It'll be such a mortifying experience for my wedding guests and family members to notice I have no friends. What do I do about this? I'd appreciate matured responses pls. Your HTB's cousins , his nieces & sisters, yours join and your 9yr old lil cutie sister will be a perfect chief bridesmaid, thank me later with a bottle of Shiraz You're too blessed to be stressed. Stop looking for trouble. |

nairalife2013: Those who go the extreme must be sure of themselves and what they are doing. @Ngokafo, there are people who stretch farther than the rest. Some women love being unconditionally obedient and respectful to men. Thatz their nature. They can never abuse, workout on or spit at som1, no matter the provocation. They have tongues that only speak of peace and apologies. Thier joy is in caring for all and thier pride is in mediation aided by feminine powers. I know of many of such ladies who would quietly walk away in the face of confrontation, even when they were innocent and should atleast exchange a few invectives with the antagonist to register thier uprightness . I needed that type and if I went the extreme distance to get it, itz all for my good and that of all. Dont do like me. My wife had her own way of appraising me. If am obedient and respectful and feminine to the core, what could be my longterm benefit and that of my kids from this man. Is there any reason to shore up with this? He is more than me in wisdom, age, wealth and everything. Am extremely proud of him and so much inlove. Should I let my longborne pride rub me of his love and care. I am a woman, I must get what I want not by might... Just this evening,I was in the tennis court when my wife called that she took her suv to the carwash and I should take that route on my way back from the club so she can join me home. When I got there I met an old freind sipping some beverage at a table in the adjoining pavilion. We three sat there and had a chat for about two hours. All the while, my concentration was on my wife and my wife's on me and we held eachother to serries of our usuall ribcracking conversation. As we all made to depart the place, The guy told me to my wife's hearing "man, I see this kind of relationship mostly in movies. This is more than a marriage. This for sure is somthingelse." My wife just smile at him. I smiled too at him. We hear that always from all sorts of folks! Our minds eager to be let alone asap so we can continue chating and laffing and my wife would have more space to continue forming baby and cuddling in my arms an on my shoulder. My wife is a rare breed that cannot survive a day without talking to me or putting her head on my shoulder or holding my hand. If u like shove her away, she will spontaneously come bak to the spot immediately thereafter, like a little girl to her mother! She is incapable of habouring malice in her heart for the sun to return and meet. Only God can explain her ways for mortals to understand. Just forget it and go and rest! WoW... She's an African Queen (I hear gals curse my name ) I'm all for Submission in marriage but not bullying & taunting in guise of 'testing for a marriage material' as illustrated in your second post. Whatever rocks your boat man. I'm only worried about her, and As long as she's happy and not concealing her true feelings... Then .. Who ARE THEY/WE to question your motive? |

winetapper: Nigerian parents find it pretty hard to say sorry.. The closest sorry you would hear is Have you eaten Is it pride or your opinion. 40s,50s ,60s & few early 70s generation .. YES. ( gosh irredeemable) The new age , late 70s and up ... Evolution and awareness have tremendously changed our outlook to life and how we raise kids compared to former. #Even when they sneeze & you as a parent forget to say 'bless you', hehe they'll call your attention to it talkless of 'sorry' hian |

It boggles mind what I see on this thread. If many posters agreed with Nairalife's post then we have a very big problem with our young lads. Sad sad |

@nairalife2013 .., you don't say? I fear una oh. 'The kind of woman you married are few' alright. Netsurf, so she wants to keep up with the Jonesses so her friends/family won't make fun of her ni. Maybe you should open up and explain your financial struggles since golden morn/formular is straining your pocket. Since she's bent on wasting resourses that are best diverted to other household necessities, reduce her quota. Abi how's that hard? Just leave her alone and stop looking for her trouble since I see you enjoy rattling her for endless & unnecessary arguments. Because this woman won't back down Check yourself too, you also have changed tremendously.it takes two |

Fablady: Answered all these questions in earlier posts. Your man is an introverted Loner that sees marriage as societal requirement for a grown man, he bottles up emotions, doesn't wanna be disturbed forgetting he's in a binding contract with you and you on the other hand ignored the signs , now you resent him for this. #sigh# If the mountain wouldn't come to Mohamed then Mohamed should go to the mountain. Crying and pleading only won't solve your problem, he's like an onion that needs to be peeled in layers. It may take months or even years to achieve this. You need a professional help. Please go with Tearoses advice, this is a gradual process. Im not gonna lie, it's a daunting task but it's doable. Mind you counselling is not an automatic remedy, you still have to put effort into your marriage, if you think he's worth the stress. I honestly wish you good luck. You need it. |

Doesn't happen often around here All the ATM units have cctv installed there. Similar incident happened years ago and they caught fair amount if scapegoats without bail- they all served jail time. There's a documentary about it sef. Is it really worth it? So in other words, I'll return every penny of discrepancies in my account. |
