Abeg make una break down the result. I see eps of 92.25 from 30billion Profit after tax. I thought their OS is 7.5billion. How eps come climb to 92naira?

Dividend fit be like N3. (I no want laf)

Btw transcorp have been chopping this kind dividend yet paying 2kobo to its shareholders yearly.

Mind you transcorp have so far sold units of transpower worth over 100billion on the floor of the exchange. Abeg make them share that one for us.

This is how the company arrived at an EPS of N92. It's quite surprising - this method. Perhaps I am new to this enterprise. Generally, I believe EPS should be calculated by Net income after taxรทshare outstanding, but Transpower did Net income after tax รทweighted average number of shares in issue during the year

@yMcy56 and others please ๐Ÿ™ provide more clarifications

The share value of every stock you see in the NGX has nominal value, regardless of how much it is selling presently. The nominal value of quoted Access bank shares on the stock exchange is 50k. Most companies have 50k as their nominal value as at the time of listing their shares on the floor of the exchange while others have 20k as the value. That notwithstanding, if you have 1 million units of Access bank shares, you will be paid N1.80k multiply by 1 million units that you have.

Thank you very much. I am very grateful

The Board of Directors proposed a Final Dividend of N1.80k (Dec 2022: N1.30 Kobo) per ordinary share of 50 Kobo each on the 35,545,225,622 issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to
shareholders on the register of shareholding at the closure date. Withholding will be deducted at the time of payment.

Please ๐Ÿ™, I need help to interprete what this statement mean. Although, obviously access is paying a shareholders approved N1.80k dividend per share.

But what is the meaning of per ordinary share of 50 kobo on each of their 35 billion share issued ordinary shares of 50k each payable to shareholders on the register

Thank you

Yes.....
Just posted the Rule few days ago.
See it attached

** However, pls note that the last 100k single unit (or above) for a stock determines the closing price for the day.... irrespective of the time it's executed**

Thank you very much

Ok will do.

Give examples of stocks with million volumes with no corresponding price appreciation.
* Note that it's possible anyway, in as much as there's no single trade/crossing up to 100k or above.

If I get your point correctly, do you mean that price of stock on NSE don't appreciate or depreciate until at least one single deal among all deal for the day traded 100,000 unit of that particular stock?

Morrison wasn't pump! It was the normal trading, Cross Deal precisely..........even though it was a single deal all thru the trading day, in as much as it met the requirement for price mvmt, it was normal.

As for Caverton, it wasn't overvalued either.
VWAP, is the weighted average
Na Oga Meshpips, Osita or other ogas Sabi explain this better. smiley

@yMcy56 please, if Morrison was not pump yesterday with a single deal of a volume of 132,093, then why didn't other listed companies not appreciate even more yesterday since some volumes were in millions. Regarding vwap, I found out is values traded for the day divided by volume for the day - which I believe should best indicate ideal price of that stock

But most importantly, I sent a mail to you a couple of days ago. Kindly respond to it. I will be very glad to be in touch with you. Thank you very much

It also means that full year 2023 result and corporate action is not yet out.

Yes. It will be released after expiration of the closed period, usually 30 days post fiscal quarter or 60 days FYS in the absence of unaudited FYS

By implication, new shareholders will enjoy dividends or bonus shares if the board approves.

The Transcorp Power disclosure is a notice of close - which is a practice for listed companies on stock exchanges. It was designed to prevent insiders privy to sensitive information from taking advantage of that to acquire more share or sell off to prevent any loss

Good evening,

Please, is it a right conclusion that, Morrison was pump today, to 10% since a single deal traded the equity. Also, I noticed CAVERTON closing price of 1.75 sent by Morgan capital is less than its VWAP of 1.70 - overvalued?

There are 4 quarters (3 months each) in a year and the company determines the structure; the most popular being Q1(Jan-Mar), Q2(Apr-Jun), Q3(Jul-Sep), Q4(Oct-Dec). This applies to all banks by regulation.

The rules require a company to release its unaudited results for a quarter within 30days after the last day of the Q ending. Where it's for Q4, same rule applies and the audited financials should be filed within 90days after the last day of Q4. Where a company decides not to file unaudited results for Q4 (or any Q but wants to have interim audit) it is required to file it's audited results within 60days.

Note that banks and insurance companies need to get their reports approved by CBN and NICOM respectively before filed at NGX. This could affect the timelines.

NGX and SEC websites would give you details.

Thank you very much. I am very grateful

Expenditure or money spent by companies are put in bracket on their financial statements. Marketing and admin expenses are monies spent in the course of business for the quarter. Numbers in bracket could also means a losses incured during the period under review while Income don't have bracket.

You can check investopedia on what elements make up an income statement. Many other items can be put in bracket in a financial statement.

Thank you very much. I previously believed only losses are put in brackets. Thanks again

Good evening, everyone

Please, have a look at this ABC forecast for the 2024 Q2

Why is Marketing and administrative expenses in bracket - which implies negatives same with interest payable, operating activities cash flows. Is this to imply the company has no money of income finance this aspect of the forecast in brackets

Please ๐Ÿ™ your clarification will be very appreciated. Thank you

Please ๐Ÿ™, this N'M means the figures is to be multiply by 6 zeros right? Or what is the appropriate interpretation of the N'M

Secondly, why are some figures on the sheet written in brackets. Thanks

Pls do not go for direct cash settlement, because every time you sell, fund would be credited to your bank account after three working days, meanwhile, before they credit your account, you will not be able to utilize the proceeds

Alright. Thank you very much
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ExcessKJ(m): 5:21pm On Mar 20
yMcy56:

DONT select "Direct Cash Settlement" pls

Direct Cash Settlement (DCS) means each time you sell, your fund goes to CSCS for settlement into your BANK account after T+3 days, you'll then have to keep transferring it back into your portfolio, which has lots of stress and disadvantages attached to it.

Thank you very much. The customer care representative also advise I don't select Direct Cash Settlement, so I picked Cash account

Good morning.

As a newbie in the NGX, please which stockbroker should I rely on. I found online Cardinal stone is the best, since they are the most popular. I found out about Morgan capital too. Please, does Cardinal stone or Morgan capital has an app to monitor stocks on NGX?
