THE Attorney General of the Federation was reported to have declared the regional community security outfit (Amotekun) illegal.
I disagree with the Attorney General. On the contrary, it is absolutely constitutional and legal.
The issue of Amotekun is an issue of Public Safety and Protection of property.
There is no law in Nigeria which prevents citizens from being able to secure their lives and properties.
Indeed without protecting the right to life and property, no other right can be exercised as one has to be alive to enforce other rights as guaranteed in the Constitution.
The Nigeria Police does not enjoy exclusive jurisdiction when it comes to the protection of lives and property.
As a matter of fact, in many parts of Nigeria, various outfits such as Civilian JTF, Hisbah Police, Vigilantes have been performing the duty of protecting lives and properties.
There is nowhere in the Police Act where a citizen is prohibited from being vigilant to protect his life or property either personally or together with other citizens.
Citizens of Nigeria have always enjoyed a right to effect what is known as a citizens arrest where any person is found to have committed an offence before handover to the police for prosecution.
In addition, private citizens also may in certain circumstances prosecute persons who have committed crimes.
Thus in Part V of the Criminal Code Act S.275 which provides as follow: “it is lawful for any person who witnesses a breach of the peace to interfere to prevent the continuance or renewal of it, and to use such force as is reasonably necessary for such prevention and is reasonably proportioned to the danger to be apprehended from such continuance or renewal, and to detain any person who is committing or who is about to join in or to renew the breach of the peace for such time as may be reasonably necessary in order to give him into the custody of a peace officer or police officer…”.
A communal reading of sections S.272/273 Criminal Code will reveal that: a person may arrest a person who has committed an offence and prevent his escape.
Neither the constitution in Sections 214-216 nor the Police Act in Section 10 gives the Police an exclusive duty to secure lives and properties.
All the above support the establishment of the Amotekun which has been established to give an official teeth to the provision of the Criminal Code which allows private citizens to arrest and detain offenders and bandits and to hand them over to the police.
Given the provisions of the Criminal Code in Sections 272-275, the right of citizens to arrest any person for committing an offence is legal and may be exercised individually or communally.
In any event, the regional community security outfit known as Operation Amotekun cannot be set aside by oral pronouncement by the Attorney General or any other body.
Only the Court of Law can declare the establishment illegal.
Jesus does it mean that all this people were all jobless , otherwise why would they leave their well paid job just to join @Amote.....

uche87: One music talent manager, Patrick who initially signed Davido's music artiste, Peruzzi to his record label named 'Golden Boy Entertainment' has opened the Pandora Box and it's contents are not only bad for the eyes but also disturbing to the ears.
Both parties have been going back and forth with verbal attacks on social media with tension escalating.
These are some takeaways from the ongoing battle:
(1) Davido's hit song FIA was actually written and sang by Peruzzi who handed it over to his boss probably after being compensated with cash. So many hit songs of Davido have been trailed by similar rumours in the past.
(2) The highly-publicized 'Assurance' song was probably written by Peruzzi also as Twitter users have been analysing the lyrics which share similarities with a certain tweet Peruzzi made in the past.
(3) Peruzzi might have dated Chioma - Davido's baby mama as claimed by Patrick who believes he 'pimped her out' to Davido after lying that they are cousins.
(4) The strength of Davido's love for Chioma might be presently weak as they initially unfollowed each other on Instagram and then followed again to apparently douse the tension in the public eye.
(5) Controversial blogger and journalist Kemi Omololu Olunloyo who claimed Chioma wasn't faithful to Davido long before this drama might be credible after all. She was also the first to report that Chioma was pregnant, although she denied it only for maternity pictures to be uploaded online.
(6) The reported N45 million Porsche Davido bought for Chioma on her birthday might be a ruse as Kemi Olunloyo has affirmed again. She has also reminded us of the publicized cooking show of Chioma which never materialized. It might also be an 'audio show' in the local lingo.
(7) Davido might not be a 'Father Christmas' as he appears online. He is so frugal with money. Patrick seems like a guy who only wants a bite of the money Davido has made off Peruzzi which Davido might have been opposed to.
( If it's confirmed that Peruzzi and Chioma were once bedmates as there is no smoke without fire, a paternity test needs to be carried out on baby Ifeanyi immediately.
(9) Again, if indeed Chioma hasn't been transparent in her love dealings with Davido, her intentions in his life might just be questionable. She could be there to 'secure the bag' like his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu obviously did.
(10) Lastly, Davido's musical talents might be overrated with almost half of his hit songs being linked to other artistes although it's a norm abroad.

Am not calling names as it stands I left there last year and from the looks of it it seem they are looking for any opportunity to pounds on me.Two weeks ago they called to know if I left with any of their materials .Thank God am not that stupid that I will go along with it. My first week in the school I was nearly accused of a modem. They gave me the modem to browse on something but I couldn't use it because the network was so bad so I left it their on their table was surprised when I came the next money they were saying bushit so I worked in to the office and we were looking for it and could not find it luckily and I was about leave I just turned to explain one more time to them that I kept it on their table low and behold it was lying in front of me.
It also happened to me after I finished secondary school I decided to keep myself busy by teaching in one school, parents usually pay their kids school fees to the principal but if the principal is not around, then they can pay in to any of the teachers that is present, was surprised when one of the parents that those not pay his children fees said he pay in to me . I couldn't believe it , what scares me most was the fact that his family are feared by jazz.Thank God the proprietor trusted me enough , he told me not to bother myself that he knows him very well and that he'the parent' is also a drukard possible he has spent all on drinks. The proprietor assured me that nothing will happen as long as am sure he didn't pay in to me because the stupid man threaten to take my name to a native doctor's house , that was 2012 oooo. Really thank God am still alive today otherwise people will say haaaaa is true na that girl ........
NobleAngell: Yes I have. Took a teaching job the year I graduated from school and was doing that while awaiting my nysc. Now those kids loved me so much and as such, they were very much interested in coming to school and this made their academic performance wonderful. Meanwhile, the woman teaching the other arm of the class was struggling with her own kids. Now, my class came first in all the interclass subject quizzes for the three terms. Next thing I know, the woman said I was having an affair with the head teacher that's y my kids were doing so well (how it relates to that, I never understood).
Now when the third term exams began, as usual she was to invigilate my class and mark my class scripts while I did hers. After about 3days into the exam, this woman reported me to the school management that I was having access to exam questions before time(exams that are being set from Lagos and sent to the principal o). I ignored her but to my surprise, the school management believed her. Only for me to get to work the next day and discover that they sent a panel to investigate me all the way from their branch in Lagos. They removed me from their primary section and sent me to invigilate the secondary pending when the investigation will be over. They seized my class scripts and were calling my kids one after the order daily to ask them questions. It was so embarrassing because everyone avoided me like a leper. At the end of the day, the investigation was abandoned half way and the session came to an end. I never got to clear my name till I left them.
As if I already know this school. While let me not say what I almost experience from my own school chaaa, thank God I don't take shit from anybody .

Protesters trooped to the streets of Owerri, Imo state capital, on Sunday to kick against the verdict of the supreme court which led to the removal of Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo.
The apex court had on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to return Hope Uzodinma, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the election.
Uzodinma placed a distant fourth in the results announced by INEC. But the apex court declared him winner based on the APC candidate’s claim that his votes across 388 polling units were annulled.
The judgement sparked different reactions. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has threatened to carry out a protest in Abuja on Monday.

Dpharisee: Several persons have mentioned it here, since the launch of Operation Amotekun and the treatment meted to Osinbajo by making him almost irrelevant, the North has realised that it is loosing support in the SW, therefore, what they will do next is to start the process of courting the South East. Several appointments and new contracts may come the way of SE in the coming weeks just watch out.
The wide support for Amotekun which is being misconstrued as Yoruba militia here in the North came as a surprise, the next step is to dangle 2023 presidency to the SE like Yakassai is doing on another thread here.

Don't know if is a cause or what! Last year December went to market with my friend to buy pend down and select oooo , as we were picking up cloths, one boy he should be around 11-12 years with his nylon that he is selling , the next thing we saw was him pressing my friend buttock , this is someone that's old enough to be his mother oooo. The funny part is that the guy that sales the O.K cloths was even shiking my friend and she told him is like he does not know his mate and yet this boy about this age has the mind to squeeze her buttock . While he was lucky that luck ran into him that day as people in the market saved him as my friend was beating him. Men and Yash shaaaaa God men them.
Nothing is behind it , last I nearly killed one fool because of same touching, thank his luck I ended up injuring him on his waist with my karat skill. He stupid called me to come visit him in the hospital for my damage. Some people are just stupid naturally.
