Wowzer! Yours must be one of the weirdest experience ever! He did all that? Wowzer! Dude must be in love with you...reminds me of one of the tales from a M&B novel. Anyways, now that I know you guys come way back, I will just let you two waltz on.

About my prince charming search, I didn't quite find though I met some really wonderful people. Every conversation is an interview, trust me, telephone interview is one of the quickest means of elimination. Pls don't write off the caliber of people here because of your encounter with the unrelenting admirer. Just imagine several of you, me and everyone else with beautiful minds...
My dear, not even close to d word weird that exists in ur imagination....

U have captured my heart, if u were are a man, would have chased u pants down(or maybe not) undecided....

You see how the weakling canvasses for supporters? He totally misunderstood what i was getting at in my reply to u, and he parades himself as...what is the word again?......the omniscient of exotiqueify? angry

uhmm.....About not writing off the caliber of people on NL, it is difficult to shake off.

Believe me dear, most guyz here are nothing but phone-clutching children. They just open their mouth at will, without having anything meaningful to say. Finding a matured folk here bears the similitude to a Nigerian winning the 1,500m race (credited to only the Ethiopians & Kenyans)at the Olympics. You would be 'wowed' to realize they are still the ones who long for a matured, educated and working class chic to date....

I once interacted with a 20 yr old, seeking a 30-yr old to date, trust me, in my inquisitive nature, i had to get close to him, only to be disappointed later on, when he dazed me with the words, 'the older the better in bed'.....strange aint it? In my usual demeanor, i replied, ' if ur creativity in bed is all u have to offer, then you need to be on the botched series'...of course, he felt offended, but i just can't help myself around some dim-wits(excuse the word, please)....

Anyway, browsing through ur criteria,(which of course, is not unlike mine), i can categorically state that, what we both want, can't be found here(i still stand corrected tho').

At a time i had a barrage of PMs, some i didn't even respond to, others i called(if what was on their profile interests me). Many were in wonder how a lady could spend a dime on a guy she knows nothing about. Little did they know i was using that medium to do my eliminations. I wanted a first hand knowledge of whom i was getting acquainted to; leaving the calling to them would only make them prepared, and lie about almost anything. Some, have even accused me of my standards being too high. Why would i not raise standards, for someone whom i would live with everyday?someone who would be Lord over me?......I aint even asking for plenty, infact looks and money ain't my priority (at least i'm not expecting a Dangote's son or a twin to RMD, but..... )

Nevertheless, it's a given, NL is a home of opportunities, (i can't take that away from Seun), adventure(both good & bad), its an eye opener, truly, an educative & informative platform too, but above all, it still remains social media, u don't expect to get the best of what you need....

Call me old school, if you like, but i prefer to see what i intend buying, before going ahead to pay (if you know what i mean).... wink

P.S: Thanx honey, for being my defense smiley.....U could understand me even without interacting with me.....

**Modified

Need i add its the culprits that would most definitely refute my statement...Like d sapiens below?.....

lolz! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin bwahahahaha!!! honestly! I didn't read a word from the above post. babe you've got issues. I suggest you start being serious about dealing with them.

now some good news for you! grin wink

I am about to retire this moniker for good. it has outlived the purpose for which it was created. now there are things I want you to do so that this moniker can be buried forever! grin wink

the first thing I want you to do is to drop your pride (yeah! your pride). it oozes out of your posts. it is not good for a lady to be unnecessarily puffed up and haughty (you're not all that you know). remember! pride goes before a fall wink

the second thing I want you to do is to stop being saucy! angry the way you dish out verbal assaults (even in written form) shows that you have a fundamental personality flaw. it is written in scripture that bitter water and sweet water cannot flow out of the same spring. the mouth you use in praising God, you don't use it to destroy/curse your fellow human being (no matter the provocation). pls change this attitude of yours.

the third thing you should do is already know to you (its actually the first thing I need from you). do the needful for the sake of peace grin wink

Shalom! smiley
Lol.....Dude, you are just a vain desperado, simply put. So pride then is good for the male folk, huh?... Or were you trying to say drop your 'pride' and unblock me?....Unfortunately, blocking you aint a thing of pride, it has to do with pre-caution...

Its like you don't understand i want this moniker to remain as it helps me expose your foolishness. Was i available when you were foolishly creating it?

I sincerely shake my head for you. I have come to understand you are just a void and you need to be filled. There is sincerely no need replying your comments seeing you have nothing to offer. You most certainly will collapse one day from lack of attention and affection, but news flash, i can't give you that.

For the umpteenth time, please maintain the sorry idea u have of me(without speaking with me, seeing me or knowing me), as i have come to realize you are just fanning your already bruised ego. In trying to pick faults, you forget, that your faults are staring right back at you....

You are welcome to deceive NLDERS, but the truth remains you cannot deceive yourself, take it bro, or swallow it... U fail to understand you are doing urself the greatest disservice by seeking attention from someone who cares nonetheless if you are alive or about to drop dead the very next minute (yes, that is how much i have come to detest you).

I am always amused reading your comments, guess what? it only helps to reveal the depth of your shallow-mindedness, joblessness and bi-polar disorder...

You are just a funny dude to think i would do as you have asked. In fact, it is because you asked i will not even consider it(whatever it is).

You are obliviously daft to refer me to the scriptures, when you are the slowpoke who called me a mumu and a fool...or your mouth too isn't an organ that should bring out sweet water?.

You painfully explain in details how proud and saucy i am in two paragraphs, yet in your 3rd paragraph, you become surprisingly vague in trying to tell me what it is i'm supposed to do for 'peace to reign', since you can't tell me what it is,could you kindly tell the house?...I remember you saying, if you start with me, i will get tired....if this is all you have got, then you truly have nothing....

You have learnt nothing at all even when i have tirelessly tried teaching you common sense and the appropriate way to handle women.

Dude for the sake of your inner peace, quit quoting me, i have nothing of yours. Let's continue to play this game and see who emerges winner in the end,but remember, its the job and vacancies section, so even though you are entitled to freedom of speech, it shouldn't encroach on the next person's....

P.S: I am most definitely certain the OP of this thread was referring to your like, if you have been unbanned, read the thread carefully, it would go a long way in helping you establish your career path...

Finally, when you are tired of asking what i do not know, you can have yourself the much desired rest...

Whew! Ify! You can be irate! Chai! Slow down sweetie, it's a lot better to shake hands than grip the jugulars. I bear olive branch o...
Sisioge dear, you see, this is most definitely not about being irate, believe me. Lol @ Olive branch...But you see, as regards the said urchin angry, i prefer to hold jugulars, so long as its his, rather than shake hands.... If i tell you the pains this cretin has been through to get my attention, you would by now have unconsciously developed a dropping jaw.

Imagine someone who has never seen or known me,in this life or thereafter, shouting to the roof tops he knows me and we have most certainly lived in the same house, i now had to ask him to produce pictures or just shut up and of course because he is all mouth and no trousers, couldn't provide proof....

He discredits my writing, teaches me morals he has never for once adhered to. He tells the world i owe him something i know nothing of, strange, aint it?..... How could you owe something to someone you don't know? He calls me names with one side of his foul mouth, and professes love with the other. He went as far as creating a moniker very similar to mine, called exotique1fy, opens a stupid thread with it and indulges people to mention me, all in the bid to get my attention while displaying his psychopathic traits.....

Sincerely, i have never come across an individual with this rare deformity.Breeze through my profile, and find this dude following me... He is a registered member on NL,with various monikers of course, yet he contributes nothing to any reasonable thread, rather you see him most active in the romance section. My dear, this is just the tip of what this deranged idiotic fellow has done....

Anyway, i gave your profile a glance, and i understand you were once searching for 'prince charming', how misguided you were...I laughed out loud seeing your criteria of the said charming, because i no too well there is a slim possibility of finding what you need here. Out of curiosity tho', did you find?i would want to answer in the negative on your behalf, (i might be wrong tho', but i very much doubt). Wish i had come across your thread before attempting to be over nice to some folks here.....

I also humbly bear the olive branch.

P.S: I love the way you write. wink

As much as I decided to come here to be of assistance to those who feel I have something to offer, I will not appreciate any degrading comment of any kind even if no offense is intended.

I never generalized, I simply indicated the holes the majority fall into.
Show me a line where I used the phrase 100% of the graduates or all the graduates.

Do work on your interpersonal skills and anger management.
Bregards.
Listen, ma'am.... all i see is you making an effort to cover up your excesses because you were corrected. This sends a red flag to anyone reading. I made sure i read your thread from top to bottom to give me the exact insight to what you were trying to point out.

I must say, i agreed with some of the things you wrote, but where i became furious was when you started with your comparisons, thereby rubbishing the Nigerian graduate as a whole(intended or no). Try to call a spade a spade. A mad man needs not be told he is mad, before acknowledging.

You pride yourself in being a HR specialist, you open a thread to (un)deliberately erase the morale of an average Nigerian graduate, comparing them to their counterparts(yet we still break grounds off shore), yet you say you were not generalizing?. Have you tried giving a Nigerian the opportunity her counterparts have, and see how very much they would set unbelievable records?. If i'm not mistaken, you are Nigerian, please give us some slack, take pride in what we are!!

Then again, you are most definitely wrong in your shallow assumption. Not only is your thread annoying, you still went ahead to defend your error...

You have just missed the point in your above comment, where you stylishly dodged replying the issue i pointed out to you, instead you pride yourself in being, what was the word again?.....an international recruiter.

Let me put it to you that even though no one is above mistake, you have also exposed your ineptitude by making that mistake on someone's cv, yet you discredit job seekers and even when your attention was called to it, you proudly defended with the words, 'Do you know a JD more than the employee?'....'an ssce employee, don't forget....My dear, this says a whole lot about your specialty! To be a HR specialist/Manager, you are like an intermediary between employees and employers, and your interpersonal relationship should not be questioned.....Please remove the anger or pride you have, and realize your mistake and quietly move on......I have no reason to disrespect you or any one else when UNCALLED for.....

*Enough said*

I sincerely do not want to derail this thread, but this sapiens just keeps following me all about! Unfortunately, u would never see a contribution of his to any thread, yet he says he is a graduate; no constructive criticism of any kind, of course, he lacks the fore sight; all he does is quote me and get attention and derail any thread i comment on. PS: you're just a bloody hypocrite! angry after pontificating on the virtue of not speaking/replying when not spoken to. you go ahead and pull the same stunt you once castigated me for! angry I have noticed the act of doublespeak on your part on several occasions, but decided not to make much out of it. but now I know that its an integral part of your personality. a flaw you seek to hide and sweep under the carpet by claiming vehemently that you're morally above board. aunty go siddon jor! angry na only grammar you sabi (you no too sabi am sef).
As in, all these now just to get my attention and discredit me AGAIN?!Its obvious you have nothing doing, but i do not blame you, after all, for the time being u really have nothing doing...

Every time dishing out advises you have never for once given yourself......I put it to you once again, you are empty and strangely clingy; characteristics of a little man, you know that for sure, right?....Why peddle talks, what do you stand to gain, does it boost your sex drive, is it like a source of inspiration of some kind?because this is really a deformity of some kind, truly....

First, you created an almost exact moniker to mine and posted something way above your age with it, as if that wasn't enough for you, you discredit me and my writing(yet, i'm beginning to make money from it, and all you have done so far is google a word when you want to reply me on NL), and teach me morals and values, every flipping time, having zero knowledge of same. You tell me i have no character, yet you chase me up and down, profess love to yourself, not me; you tell me i know nothing, but i have worked in places u haven't, ...U say u are a man(that is relative though cuz u really are confused about ur sexuality), yet you act like a demented woman and follow me on NL just to try to get attention and 'subject me', and you tell me i am melodramatic? sincerely, u are just reducing your life span just being on my case.

You post something on NL and use your other moniker to defend and like same......Guy u really are not well o! I must tell u, sincerely......

And the crux and most laughable of all your groaning, is your certainty of knowing me,even more than i know myself ('after all you have lived in the same house with me'), without even meeting me or having a tete-a-tete..., sincerely u are either demented or you need help in all honesty......What ever it is you are trying to achieve, you cant achieve it with me..... But then again, keep trying, i assure you you would be very much disappointed, and please continue to bask in the euphoria of talking to me, make it worth your while, while you are at it......

As in, this is you trying to get my attention again? And when I said you are clingy, u went all Jackie on me? smh.... sincerely, how come you never learn? If u can't learn at your young age, you would most certainly never learn at all. You mean, you follow me because you have nothing doing and you reply to my comments because you want to prove 'something'? I really am not your type and i don't want to be associated with you, so please seriously, get a job, i plead with you.

You can't win over even the most stupid of girls with this clingy attitude. Quit seeking my attention & derailing people's thread naa..... Apply dis zeal in searching for a job and I'm certain u'ld get one in no distant time.

By the way, I am not you and your praise singers(the phrase is relative, because you are one and the same person), whom never know when & how to criticize constructively...U are a graduate and a 'fresh' one at that, u really should know what I meant in that statement and what I mean in the one you quoted....Or do i really have to state everything to you in black & white?!! If you graduated with a 2.1 you should know better. You want a job and you want a recruiter to take you seriously, please change your email to something more professional; like your full name or first letters of your name. Professionalism is the watch word.

smh, how do you know the job description more than the staff
Madam plz, for goodness sake, u said you edited this cv for an SSCE holder..... Its your job to correct his mistake(s). Staff in plural form is still staff, please accept your mistake and move forward...This is not about knowing a JD than the employee, this is plain English! The same English u were shouting on top of your voice that we should learn if we want to work in a place where English language is spoken... This is just for you to understand that humans can make mistakes, and you forget, before you posted this ' lecture note' that you are a human yourself, you committed an error, and you are being so adamant in correcting it, begs the question how you got to ur 'exalted position'.....(pardon me).

That's the reason, i would not totally disagree with amicable, because sometimes recruiters as yourself refer people to companies that other unemployed graduates can beat hands down.....And for your generalization, please DO NOT make the mistake of thinking every job seeker is the same..... Thank you

Johniyke2flex:
Came here looking for the way forward, but as usual, OP has only stated the problems.

Is it not irony that some of these HR managers that only became polished after they had spent many years undergoing trainings from top tier companies would later turn around and complain about the unavailability of employable graduates?

Nigerian graduates are employable. Just a few of them are a mess, and those few need just rechannel their manpower to something else.

We are constantly being judged by the standards of developed nation. It is absolutely wrong. In life you get what you pay for.

I was very surprised when a very close friend that I graduated with some years back echoed those same words..."Nigerian graduates are unemployable." I was mad. Is it this same guy that graduated with a weak 2.2? Is it this same guy whose uncle help facilitate his employment into the multinational where he currently works? He was the least intelligent in our group, and there he was, spewing trash. Of course I echoed all that in my mind.

He had become refined and polished, but cowardly, he had dissociated himself from the system that produced him. He had clung to the system that cleaned him up, and was judging others by his current standard. That's the irony of the Nigerian situation.

Give everybody that equal opportunity and watch the Nigerian graduate soar to high heavens.

I may not have that perfect CV, and, I may not have attended an ivy league school, but, I am employable, and, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

BeauHomme:
OP, when I read your story, I felt like a married woman with kids, sitting and listening to a newly wedded bride (just 11days in marriage) already complaining about the challenges of marriage.

Welcome dear, to the real world.

To make your life easier, you'll have to erase that OAU "best university", "I have a 2:1" mentality. Your VC, lecturers and the whole institution will give you a bloated ego during your uni days, but won't be there to assist when you begin trekking the streets of Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja searching for a job. I'm a product of the University of Ibadan, I know what I'm saying. We all felt because of our school's pedigree, multinationals would be waiting to snap us into their workforce. We've long awaken from our dreams.

In my opinion, this is the time you get a small place to put your head. Somewhere that offers a job description similar to your desired role. Speak to them about being an intern with them. It could even be on volunteer basis,I.e, no structured salary. If they pay you, ok. If they chose not to pay, also ok(did I hear "God forbid"?grin). Welcome to the real world.

Staying there will give you a place to go out to every morning(for your emotional stability). It also gives you skill and experience, while building your profile and preventing gaps on your CV. While on this small job, you keep searching for and applying online to your desired job openings. You also enquire for certifications in your field and find ways of acquiring them. One of the best ways to find out which, is by reading through openings you desire to apply for, take note of all those certifications and competencies they keep requesting for. After a while you would have realized that some are mentioned more often than others. Seek ways to acquire those.

Summary: Get a small place, regardless of the pay. Develop yourself while you keep applying, speak to people who could be of help(in church, family friends, relatives, etc). As time goes on, things will begin to get clearer and you'll know your next line of action.

Sorry for my long epistle. Wish you all the best.
U have really spoken well. Reality of life, your institution and/or class of degree does not guarantee u an express job...U will compete with other graduates who possess masters and a long line of professional courses; ur confidence and what you actually know would give you a smooth ride.

Moreover, most companies would prefer experience as they do not want to start teaching from the scratch....Take the advise of one who said u should start with internships, believe me, it will do more good as you would acquire the much needed experience, it would also give you the liberty to learn virtually everything needed to arm yourself for the next interview.... I have been called for interview(s) because of the little experience i have had over the years, which has no relationship whatsoever with my first degree. The key is knowing where you can fit in asides what you bagged as your first degree......This is Nigeria.....
