Liverpool's march towards Premier League immortality takes them to Vicarage Road on Saturday evening as they face Watford with yet more history beckoning.

Just 12 points from claiming the title, Jurgen Klopp's side would set a new Premier League record for consecutive victories should they chalk up a 19th in a row this weekend, but take on a Watford side that ran them close in the reverse fixture at Anfield.

When Manchester City went a full half-season without dropping a single point in 2017-18 it was suggested that such a feat would never be repeated, yet Liverpool got to within one of the record earlier this season before subsequently winning each of their last 18 games to match Pep Guardiola's centurions.

Klopp's class of 2019-20 have perhaps not done it in such spectacular fashion, but should they claim a 19th successive win as expected this weekend then it would be another piece of evidence in the growing argument that this is one of the greatest teams English football has ever seen.

The stats certainly suggest so; Monday night's 3-2 triumph over West Ham United was closer than many expected, but it means that Liverpool have now gained as many points as Manchester United's treble-winners from 1998-99 and as many wins as Arsenal's Invincibles from 2003-04.

Those are two teams unanimously included in the argument of the best ever, and yet Liverpool have matched their league feats with a whopping 11 games of the season remaining.
The Reds are also closing in on the Invincibles in the unbeaten stakes with the West Ham win taking their tally to 44, just five short of the all-time record in English football held by Arsene Wenger's side.

Liverpool have dropped just 10 points from 132 available in that time and have taken a staggering 106 from the last 108 on offer, which is an unprecedented run of form leaving them on course to gain a scarcely-believable tally of 112 points this season alone

As for tonight's game, Barcelona is no longer as formidable as they were... In fact, they are quite vulnerable these days. Napoli should summon courage, and take the game to them.

Madrid were dealt a big injury blow in the week as Eden Hazard, who has only just returned from a long-term layoff, was ruled out for potentially the rest of the season with a broken ankle.

Marco Asensio is Madrid's only other absentee, with the Spaniard yet to play a single minute this term after suffering a serious knee injury during pre-season.

Zidane has a decision to make on whether to recall Gareth Bale, who has struggled to hold down a place in the side this term and missed out against Levante at the weekend due to a sickness bug.

Vinicius Junior, Isco and Rodrygo Goes are also battling it out for a spot in the frontline, which will almost certainly be spearheaded by Benzema.

Elsewhere, Zidane may give the nod to Federico Valverde over Luka Modric in central midfield and left-back Ferland Mendy is also in contention for a recall.

As for City, Guardiola is confident centre-back Aymeric Laporte will be fit to feature despite limping off inside an hour against Leicester with a knock.

Raheem Sterling is also pushing for inclusion after recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the Citizens' last two matches.

Leroy Sane has been closing in on a return to first-team action, but this match is expected to come too soon for his comeback.

Guardiola is likely to stick with Sergio Aguero through the middle, meanwhile, despite the striker's recent below-par displays and Gabriel Jesus' winner from the bench versus Leicester.

EPL defenders Mark Mane and Salah well now, that's why you see they are not on top of the table. Kane has had to deal with flying tackles from defenders leading to his injuries recently, Aguero is in and out of treatment room on regular basis as well.
They are all better players than than Rashford.

Once you are marked as a team main goal threat, teams pay special attention to double mark and stop you. Rashford had a good run, but ultimately, teams would have caught up with his style and neutralized him.
At a point it looked like Vardy was going to run away with the highest goal scorer title, I bet if he was injured, Leceister fans would be saying that he could have been on 25 goals by now.
Teams studied his moves and now easily cut him off from his supplies hence his recent drought.
