Intolerance, the hallmark of...... grin

Our Igbo brothers need to know that we can't all share the same view. You share a view different from theirs, you get death threats (both offline and online)...Why should it be so?

Do these people have the moral justification to condemn the bloodthirsty shekau and his minions? No! This is how shekau operates too.

Even in Jerusalem, you will find Muslims there living peacefully...how much more a region where it's occupants are not really deep in the Christianity faith. Some of them worship Jesus only on Sundays and idols on other days

May elohem be your guides
Since the meeting of southern govs, I watch with joy how you guys were worried. Ur elites were crying and also putting their propaganda machines at work (dailypost and dailytrust). You the ground soldiers are all over the online space wailing..... Igbos or Yoruba are not your problems, face your elites and solve the insecurities in your lands.

I know it will be dailypost or dailytrust. And I wasn't disappointed. Kaduna paper always dishing lies about the south.

Aboki no kuku deh read papers, we south should boycott this paper for its divisiveness.... It is getting too much.

This is not journalism.

Make him tribesmen quickly follow the orders. Enough of bloodshed on southern soil by 16th century marauders.

MODIFIED
The dude was more pained than being sincere. He is just mortified that southern govs can stand up to their figurehead president. These marauders should match their words with actions and vacate the South. Blood sucking cows.

Forget it, the government is not smart @ all.Even if their post is for ceremonial functions, their worst official records is a diplomatic no no for any country.

No nation will wants to deal with failures from a failed government.Recall how the ICC rejected the Nigerian government nominee to that globally recognised court headed by another competent Nigerian @ present?
No sensible country will risk it. Those ex service chiefs can go to those countries as a private person without wahala but carrying a diplomatic passport is a no no for any country that values its security.

Northern Nigeria is the problem with their religious intolerance.

Igbos too are intolerant but u will never see them kill for religion. Fulani should stop seeing Nigeria as their dream land... It will never be. U will just make other tribes to hate you and worst off, be sideline in national politics.

Which country will allow people with gross misconducts and corruption personified Nigerian ex military officials in their political space?

The fact that they have no rule of engagement while serving is a RED flag for those countries.

Additionally, the fact they couldn't handle insurgency in Nigeria and news from some quarters that says they are in some sort of conspiracies with the insurgents is another big and heavy RED flag.

Backward north. They are the ones dragging the country back. They are quick to quote constitution when they need something down south and very defensive when one of them is called to equity. And we say we are in one Nigeria.

That determination is made RETROSPECTIVELY...
If there’s a court available to “pronounce” it, it would not be required in cases like these.

We have to confine this discourse to the PARTICULAR case at hand...
There are DIFFERENT cases where courts are available, but the police would ask for more time to charge.

Let’s stick to the peculiar facts of THIS case!

Comprehension issues?! shocked

The Constitution is the grund norm of the law, and all other law and authority flow from it...
The Police is acting IN ACCORDANCE WITH (not contrary to) Section 34(5)(b) of the Constitution!
>
You are the one having comprehension issues. Where is the court that permitted police to hold him more than 48hrs?

You mean police can interpret the law as they please? If yes, why did they have to sort the advise of ministry of justice in the first place? And ministry of justice itself can't superimpose on the Federal Constitution.

Arguing with you is kinda pointless cos u re myopic about the subject matter.

9jaRealist:
Even for a bailable offense, bail is NOT as of right...

Nonetheless, what the Constitution actually provides is that a suspect be informed of his alleged offense within 24 hours in a writing and language he understands (Section 35(2) of the Constitution), and that such a suspect must be brought before a court “within a reasonable time” (Section 35(4)). The Constitution thereafter defines “a reasonable time” as 24 hours, 48 hours or (BEYOND the otherwise mandated 24 and 48 hours) ”such longer period as in the circumstances may be considered by the court to be reasonable” (Section 35(5)(b)). Given that the ongoing JUSUN strike has rendered the courts currently non-functional and therefore Baba Ijesha cannot be presently arraigned before a court of law, it would be deemed “reasonable”, and therefore CONSTITUTIONAL under the provision of Section 34(5)(b), to continue to detain him until the regular re-opening of the courts.

In the interim, any consideration on whether he would be granted an administrative (police) bail would depend on the peculiar circumstances of the case, including whether he poses a flight risk or would likely jeopardize the investigations or case (such as by harassing or intimidating witnesses, etc,). Personally, I think he is presently exactly where he belongs - until a court of law decides otherwise.

Your name opposes your post. You logically tried to explain this abnormalities away but you still can't. Actually, there is no way to explain it. Nigeria police should act under the armpit of law not being a law unto themselves.

When is the advise from ministry of justice now superseding fundamental human rights as contained in the Nigerian constitution?

Nigerians only follow laws whenever we are at the receiving ends. And it is more funny that some people are supporting this madness all because they are feminists. Dumb mofos

They are now endangered species. cheesy

Police and wahala. Always making troubles and cowed later.

News reaching me says the default Sars are still terrorising people of Osogbo as of this morning. If this should boomerang again, they will claim victims while they were always the aggressors. Police should face their jobs and stop making troubles for themselves in order not to turn the people angers and frustration towards them.
