Americans are starting to panic-buy guns with sales rocketing across the country and shoppers lining up around the block outside hunting shops amid coronavirus fears.


California, New York and Washington the states hardest hit by the deadly bug all saw a massive surge in gun sales.


Some buyers sought to 'protect their families' from looters should food and supplies run out due to coronavirus panic.

Others feared that the government's emergency powers could restrict their right to buy a gun while somebought weapons to protect themselves from potential racist attacks.

The military has to be sensitized and educated rightly. This is not an opportunity to inflict pain on civilians, we are not under a house arrest, neither have we committed any crime. We are fighting the spread of Coronavirus and we are all in it together.

In as much as we are staying put at home, we still need to go out from time to time for different reasons.

People need to go out to get essential commodities, go for medical care, get gas and other essential items, even people moving in personal cars with glasses closed should be able to move from point A to B to get things they need without being harrassed. I can also decide to take a short walk in my street or within my vicinity when I get so bored.

What the military should be out there to do should be to ensure that people going out are not moving in twos or more, that people are clearly maintaining the social distancing order when they are out.

They shouldn't be out there inflicting pains on civilians going out for a purpose even without asking them questions, they have not committed any crime for crying out loud.

The filling stations, food shops, pharmaceutical shops, hospitals and other places that sell essential commodities that are allowed to open are all open for the citizens' use, how do we now get to these places to get what we want if you start harassing us on sight?

These people should be educated in times like this, we are all in this together, even the military needs to engage in this social distancing, they are not immune to Coronavirus.

Ms Nasreen first became unwell around March 12, suffering with 'body aches', a high temperature which could not be brought down and a cough.

Her sister said: 'Her temperature would not go down and her cough was so bad it affected her lungs.'


On March 20, she was taken to hospital and tested positive for coronavirus before being treated in the health facility's intensive care unit.

Aimee O'Rourke, 39, passed away last night at the QEQM Hospital in Margate, Kent, following the surfacing of symptoms two weeks ago.

Ms O'Rourke had three daughters, Maddie, Mollie and Meghan, who described her mother as an 'angel' who will 'wear [her] NHS crown forever more'.

Just hours later, Areema Nasreen, 36, died shortly after midnight in intensive care at Walsall Manor Hospital, West Midlands, were she had worked.

The NHS employee of 16 years, who started in housekeeping before training as a nurse, was diagnosed with the infection in late March after developing a soaring temperature, body aches and a cough.

Both nurses were put on ventilators but sadly could not be saved, taking the toll of health workers to die with the virus during the pandemic to seven.

Loved ones of Ms Nasreen and Ms O'Rourke begged the public to take the virus seriously in an urgent wake-up call to those flouting social distancing rules.

So it's up to the residents to confirm if there was a truck that was parked right there before the the explosion

The driver said the truck broke down, but they didn't abandon it. He was in the truck when some came to tell him there's a smoke/fire.

They were trying to extinguish the fire when someone said ''run run run''.

Some times during this type of explosion, if the first wave is able to push you down quickly, you likely have the chance to survive

According to him, they were still beside the truck seconds before explosion when someone said they should run.

Shock waves from this kind of explosion, checking the huge crater and the damages done to those buildings from far away distance will not push but blow away anyone within 50m - 100m. Which i believe they'll be within 10 or 20meters when the bomb detonated.

They won't survive the impact by the time they hit the ground.

Four days after the explosion which occurred in Ondo State, the driver of the truck that conveyed the explosives, Mr Isiaka Yinusa, said he did not know that his vehicle carried explosive devices.

The explosion occurred on Akure-Owo Expressway, at Ilu Abo town in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State in the early hour of Saturday, injuring several people and destroying no fewer than 70 buildings in the community.

Yinusa, together with some other people were injured in the accident and were rushed to the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Akure, the state capital, where he had since been receiving treatment.

Speaking on his hospital bed, the victim said he was hired to take a consignment to Auchi, Edo State, after the vehicle that was bringing the consignment from Ibadan became faulty in Osu, Osun State. He said he was oblivious of the contents of the consignment.

He further stated that the consignment was being escorted by some policemen.

According to him, on their way to Auchi, the truck developed a fault in Akure, the Ondo State capital. He said one of the police escorts advised that they should move the vehicle away from the highly populated area, when they could not rectify the fault.

He said, “We got to Akure around 6pm and we took time to relax at Shasha market area where we planned to sleep and continue the journey the following day. So I slept inside the vehicle.

“As I was sleeping inside the truck, I heard a knock on the vehicle door by someone who informed me that smoke was coming out from under the vehicle.

“We quickly moved.

The policeman that led the team said we should move ahead.

As we were moving on, the policemen in the escort said that I should stop.

As we got down, I saw fire coming out from the vehicle. We brought out fire extinguishers to put it out.

“As we were doing that, suddenly the policemen shouted that everybody should run.

As I was running, I heard a bang and noticed something in my abdomen. That was all I knew and the next thing was that I woke up in the hospital.”

A builder is thought to have shot dead his partner, their two young daughters, their pet dog and himself at a picturesque West Sussex village.

The bodies of the family were found at their £500,000 property in Woodmancote.

The couple had been self isolating at their home in Brynglas, Cwmbran, South Wales.

An NHS nurse was also stabbed to death in the street in South Yorkshire and three died in an apparent murder-suicide in Hertfordshire.

It comes on the seventh day of Britain's unprecedented lockdown to slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
