Torkwase1:
Finally, I've seen the IELTS that gave me sleepless nights
Listening- 9
Writing- 7.5
Reading- 8.5
Speaking- 8.0
It's my first take, and I was so worried because one senior applicant told me how he practiced like a hundred tests, meanwhile I hadn't done a fraction of that.
I also wrote my answers in all CAPITAL letters, except for Writing. When I told two of my friends who took the test too, they looked at me as if I've already failed.
Then I wasted so much time on my letter because I loved the topic, ended up not having time to structure the essay part and proofread before submitting.
It's been the longest two weeks of my life ! Thank God it ended in praise o, because I don't know where to get 75k to give British Council again.
Now waiting for WES on the 20th before diving into this our legendary pool !!!
.
Congrats I remember I also wrote all my answers in capital letters and had the same scare. I scaled through as well.

GRACE FOUND ME
I will worship Him forever, Love Him forever, This God is too good oo (Nathaniel Bassey)

I discovered this family after I had already submitted my application......

This journey started in earnest December 2017. FAMILY OF 4
Got the magic IELTS score April 21 sitting LSWR. 8.5,7.5,7,8.5. Updated my profile May 13th, CRS 466.

ITA... MAY 23RD
AOR.....JULY 3RD
MEP/IP1.....JULY 18TH
IP2.......... AUGUST 7TH
PPR..... AUGUST 9TH

Before I submitted my application, I told God that my case MUST be different. What took others 6months will take me maximum 6 weeks( He even exceeded my expectations) cos my rent expires in September.
I stood on Jeremiah 1:11- 12 (I see a speedy ppr, and He will hasten His word and perform it.) & Luke 18:27...(my desire is possible with God)..... Focused on praying for God's kingdom alone while believing...Matt 6:33..
Pardon my sermon cheesy.....but JESUS IS LORD

POF:- I used a notarized copy of deed of sale agreement only, bank statement and reference letter. An LOE explaining one of the huge payment into my account......

WORK EXPERIENCE.....just used a general "to whom it may concern" reference letter from company not in "cic format". No payslip or any other document.

Lessons Learned...
1. FAITH WORKS!!
2. Make ur application as simple as possible
3. Your application is different.

GRACE FOUND ME!!
I remember emphasizing this and someone said misrepresentation...smh congratulations oo I tap into this grace and speed..AOR was just 3days after yours

Pardon any typo.

hi, the spouse and i are looking to land in November and we intend settling in Ottawa. I wouldn't mind being part of the whats app group. can you post a link please. Thank you.
gemdor:
Thank you for your attention to my question.

I think around 1350- 1500 (will be glad if i get below sha) should be enough for a 3 bedroom house, i am looking at anywhere close to ottawa; orleans, hunt club , crystal bay , westboro etc. We arrive in two weeks by Gods grace.

Thank you for your offer will most appreciate it.

About the meet up, since ottawans are so busy parhabs the whatsapp group may be more beneficial for newcomers, i kind of started one but , hey! i never land, so na the same thing.

If he has worked and it is not in work history, it should be in personal history, else, it is misrepresentation. So how will it look when the VO goes to Linkedin and sees jobs that are not mentioned anywhere?

Or how will it look if such "an unemployed" spouse were to cough out N6M for POF? Did he steal it? Even if he is self employed, he would state it. Sometimes we may not see nexus between different bits of information but I assure you, the VOs connect all these dots. I totally agree with @einsteino
LOL Y'll need to calm down with this misrepresentation tale!!..if he has included a work experience in his work history it is going to populate in his personal history, that is what i said. if there is any work experience worth adding which you can easily provide support for then go ahead. He said they were multiple short period contract jobs that he cant readily provide supporting documents, in such an instance i still stand by what i said, he can exclude it and just put unemployed. if it is in his linkedin page or there is any part of that experience included in his application then he will have to include it. At the end of the day its everyone to his own. whatever was not relevant to my application i excluded and would do it again. Why look for means to complicate your process, PPR Clinchers in the past have said this before, the unemployed status was used for periods that they were actually unemployed or just could not explain/adequately support the position they were at at that time. By the way there are a thousand means one could come up with funds its not just through savings from work. if the inflow from the contracts where really that significant and contribute to his savings he can choose to include it but i havn't seen anywhere on CIC website or on this forum neither have i heard that a prerequisite for getting PPR is that your savings/funds for POF must tally with your income or whatever you are insinuating. All you need to show is proof you have the money and any bulk inflows within last 6months. Please you people should relax and not complicate or overthink this process oo.

This has been addressed several times, you should have used the search button.

Anyways to reiterate, you must include it in his personal history, along with his other activities (education etc). That isnt negotiable(at least by the rules), what is, is the work history section. Any activity listed in work history must be evidenced while personal history wouldnt, unless his files ends up at the desk of an over zealous V.O, in that case you would get an ADR. you can always reply with an LOE stating it was contract jobs and knew it would be difficult to evidence as he was paid in cash, hence why you didnt list it in work experience. But its unlikely you would be quizzed over Personal history.

So it doesnt hurt to list all his jobs in the personal history section, though if you say he has been unemployed for all those years, it should be fine but i wonder if a V.O wouldnt find that even more absurd than the former scenario.
I beg to differ..the most important thing is not to leave gaps in between the 10years. The work history automatically populates in the personal history section. It's been said multiple times..anything to less complicate your application especially if you are not earning points on it.

[quote author=HarveySpecter1 post=68211070]I see a lot of people who just submitted their applications, are so anxious to get to Canada.

Just relax. I hope you have your strategies all planned out. You would need as much money as you can get for accommodation, school or skill upgrade. Accommodation in Canada is quite expensive. [b]What we know as a room and parlor is in the range of C$1400 to C$1500/month
(that's about N450K/month) . You will need money for a lot of things and work may not come immediately.

So why don't you relax and make some more money instead of worrying over an application you just submitted. Its not always "how fast'' but how well
Dude that's abit of an exaggeration relax!

Hey people, this issue on work experience is getting me abit worked up..kindly help me clarify if this could be an issue for my spouse and I...based on where we served we figured it would be almost impossible getting reference letters from there so we skipped the nysc year and claimed points just on where we currently work. In personal history while filling the pr application forms we just put unemployed for that period. Please hope this doesn't present itself as misrepresentation

Yours is like a needle in a haystack... 1 in 5000 ppl. IDP is not favorable when it comes to remark and also I can clearly confirm that when you ask for a remark (EOR) and your score changes it does not reflect online. I kept checking online to know if my score would change meaning I got a positive outcome but was same and then I sent a mail to Australia.

You seem to me like you work for them or have personal interests in the organization and so you are trying to cover things up for IDP.

I know and can confirm some IDP staff come here to post positive comments about the organization to make them look like angels.
Errrrr for starters I wrote ielts with BC and I nagged about my 12week wait before getting my result.i don't know what you are on about but you don't need to be making vague assumptions of what you are unsure of. Plus side note to those waiting for feedback on EOR from BC, check your spam also. That's where I saw my feedback mail and it was from a staff of BC not their official email.

IELTS- IDP (MAY 25, 2018)

L- 8

R- 8

S- 7

W- 6.5
sad angry huh
They are definitely making big box off this and are not ready to stop. Honestly if you can write elsewhere but Nigeria. I just really thank God am off their claws and earnestly pray and hope every other person held back by this writing stigma of 6.5 is delivered

IDP, like seriously??

I am beginning to believe folks' opinions about the possible lack of total honesty of test organizers in Nigeria. I verily suspect it is fast becoming a big ticket business for these guys- BC & IDP and they are not ready to let poor us off the hook any time soon!! It is just so unfortunate on multiple grounds! Can you imagine after paying 68k for the test, only to dole out 15k/45k for re-marking again?? These people should fear God oooo!!!

I feel the pains of all my people here who got great scores in listening, reading and speaking only to be disappointed with the writing test...Honestly, there's something fishy here.
How do you want to explain it that someone got 9, 8.5, 8/7.5 in L, R and S...and now that same brain got a 6.5 in writing? It doesn't make sense!

It will get to a stage we will proceed to Benin or Ghana to write IELTS so as to get objective marking...at least, over there, let's hope they are not yet infested with everything wrong with our "system" here. I'm so upset...I read all the great scores in the previous pages...those scores were supposed to be great ITA CLINCHING SCORES now marred by dubiously marked writing test.

IDP may have tainted my "rep" with a 6.5 for whatever it's worth (Never happened before, BC wont even try it...we are talking about "writing" here oooo grin) but hey, you cares? God has done it already! grin

All the same, It still ended in praise grin grin

NB: Guys, lets keep the hope high, it will happen soon! (We may have to open a public petition against the grading of the test by IDP in Nigeria and get the petition across to IDP Australia for necessary action)

hello house. please I need an urgent answer to my question. The name in my husband's international passport is Onyekachukwu while the one on his transcript and statement of result is Onyekachi. will WES accept it or should the school correct it. meanwhile I created a WES acc with Onyekachukwu. please I need an answer urgently as the school will send the transcript today. Thank you guys
In my case my maiden name was on my certificate and transcript while my spouses name on my passport however wes still verified my results but in their report stated the name difference noted. It's my responsibility to do an LOE when attaching my Wes report with evidence of name change. I believe that should suffice

Good morning all,
My IELTS result LRWS 8.5,7,6.5,7.5. I’m just sad. Why is MOD always giving people 6.5 in writing. Do you guys suggest applying for EOR or rewriting. Thanks.
It's not a case of rewriting. If you are sure your writing is better than a 6.5 please remark. I honestly don't trust what is going on with our markers here in Nigeria. Just be ready to wait it out and be patient but am quite sure your score will change. I became sure of my assumptions with Nigerian markers when my listening score changed. So sorry I honestly understand how you feel. It is going to be well.

Inasmuch as we're all trying to be careful with our representations to the Canadian authorities, and having read through Canadatlast's argument, I think he/she has a valid point. Let's be objective about this, the money still legally belongs to you except that there is a timeline to accessing it. If one can use 25% that he isn't even authorized to have access to (since most people usually continue in employment until they're finally ready to jet out), one should be able to successfully lay claim to the isolated 75%.

The most it would cost is a confirmation of some sort from CIC concerning this PF matter. If the response comes out favourable, then we just might have unearthed an information goldmine to the benefit of many here who have been struggling with PoF. Let's not just dismiss this by the wave of the hand please. There is no information that is not power.
Well said!!

Not to offend anyone or seem insensitive but there are many groups on ACCA and taking the exams plus getting materials for study here on nairaland , let's not digress away from EE/FSW. Now you have decided to take the exams do your research and check other groups for the info you need. This was same with ielts. We had to limit the discussion to preliminaries while more detailed discussions had to be done elsewhere. ACCA sub family please you people should do same. Cheers! Now to my question, lol ; if you have a change in family status before you apply for pr but after you have gotten ITA what is the best way to go about it?

Please I read through some FAQs from previous threads and my understanding is no point should are gotten from your spouse work experience. Does that mean we don't have to include any work history when creating the express entry profile. Also since I earned points from just my masters I don't intend to include my BSc information under eduction page. Please I hope I am not wrong.

Hello All. Good evening. I have been a silent reader and i have benefited so much from all the contributions thus far. Thank you. I am not sure if i should be asking this question now seeing as am still in the race to getting my PR. I like to plan ahead so i'll just go right ahead and ask. Hopefully my spouse and i should be joining you folks in the Canadian land in a few months but am a bit worried, we are both professionals, his a doctor and i an accountant and from my research i have noted that Canada is highly regulated and both of us would need to take exams before we can get licenses to practice and also from the info here those exams are quite pricey. what advise would you give us in terms of job prospects to enable us get by before we write all exams and get our licenses. we have a baby (less than 6months old) and so it would most likely be only my husband working. what kind of jobs can a doctor do in Canada prior to getting a license?
