A name is a name. Feminists? Far from it. I believe in equality in all aspects. If a woman puts her hands on me I'd beat her finish. That's how equal I am. Nobody gets a pass. Actually only momsy, daughter, and sister gets a pass. Just the hypocracy is funny. This was the same way slavery was justified. You know when the white used some nonsense bible verse, and claimed They re the masters and Africans should be submissive ? Can you imagine if a white man comes up to these men and say the nonsense They re saying about their woman ? It'd unacceptable and they'd be called racist.

How do hypocrites justify this ? Honestly.
So you would hit your wife then...because your daughter and sister won't be someone's wife or your mother wasn't somebody's wife...gtfoh

Hello extraterestrial,

I think I can help with your questions a bit. Your office located at Barangaroo sounds to be like you would be working for a Big 4. As regards your budget, that amount per week is fine but it depends on the kind of place you want. That amount would get you a 1 bedroom apartment in a place like Dulwich Hill/Hurlstone Park(Check www.realestate.com.au) which is about 25 mins train to the city, but with the competition for apartments in these areas, it might be difficult to convince a real estate agent to give you that place considering the fact that you don't have any rental history in Australia.

The situation relaxes a bit if you are willing to move further away from the city , possibly about 45-55 mins on the train to the city, to a place like Ingleburn, Macquarie fields, Glenfield, Liverpool and if you can go a bit further , to Campbelltown. These areas are in South western Sydney, In north western Sydney, you have Blacktown, Mount druitt, Saint Marys etc. Agents are more willing to give apartments here. and you can get 2-3 bedroom apartments for that amount.

I need to sound a note of warning though, it is almost impossible to get a permanent apartment in one week, virtually impossible. So you can look more towards getting a temporary place while you search for the permanent one. It helps a lot if you have someone that can pitch you to real estate agents , they kinda extend that person's goodwill to you. So take a look at Airbnb and flatmates for temporary apartments while you search.

To be honest, I usually suggest to anyone coming with family that if you don't have a family that can take you in for a few weeks, just come alone first well in advance, do the running around first and let your family join you at the set date. That removes a lot of worry from your head.

Anyways , you can ask me any specific questions.

Cheers!
Thank you so much. I had Liverpool in mind after doing a search but I will check out other areas. You sound like you are currently in Sydney. Is it okay if I pm you. Ok like to ask other personal questions. Thanks again

In my opinion, there's no 'best' suburbs as such. It all depends on factors that are unique to each individual. Do you have a job waiting already? Where's your office at? What is your rental budget?

My advice is to come first As the unknowns become known, it wouldn't be difficult to figure out the 'best' suburb for YOU. A suburb change is not unlikely within your first six months. So a temporary accommodation might be the way to go until you find yourself the perfect suburb. Cheers.

The city is a better version of Lagos. There's the hustle and bustle associated with big cities. Lots of weekend fun activities for all categories of people. You will be spoilt for choice. No cause for any anxiety. You should be fine.
Thank you so much for responding to me. I have a job already. My office is located at Barangaroo Avenue. i think its a central business district. in terms of rent i have a budget of 350 to 400 AUD per week. I am curious, how is rent paid, can we stay short term in a place for like 3 months to be sure we like the area. My company is providing accommodation for a week to enable us get something more permanent so we are trying to search places online and book viewings so that we can use that week to do just inspections and probably move in to which ever we like. Lastly please is a car an immediate necessity in Sydney.

A colleague's application was just cancelled sad

After all my guidance and the well packaged application, turns out he omitted the bio-data page of his passport when he was uploading. He forgot to add that important detail and only uploaded visa and entry/exit stamps. He did it at home, so there was no way for a second eye to vet before uploading. E pain me gaan.
He didn't even notice it after submission to quickly raise a CSE.
I am getting rusty with this process, I remember someone was refused cos of something similar, but can't remember if her application was reopened or not and if she was refunded all the fees she paid.
Any ideas what he should do? I no even get strength to think.
wow so sad...quickly went to check my folder for documents i scanned to be sure i didn't make same error...

Congratulations on your nomination

However I must say now is not the time to be asking what is the next step, you have been on this Journey since january to say the least.
You should be a master of what next now. Not here asking what you should do next.

I am sure someone that knows would answer (i dont know to be honest), but we need to take these things more seriously.

Sometimes we act like these things just stumble on us but not so. What you have spent money, time and resources on - we can do better me people

I wish you Godspeed.

Je m'appelle SERIOUSMODE
can we quit with all this bullying and attacks at people...if you feel you would do more in her situation good for you. if you are so offended by the question ignore!!..i understand that we needed to make it clear to newcomers to stop repeating questions that have been answered over and over but now all of a sudden everyone thinks they should determine the tone of the conversation in the chatroom or what one should or shouldn't ask ...you class prefects need to calm down and take several sits behind, after all asking here is an attempt to understanding the process...better still direct the person to cic website and end it... undecided this comment isn't directed to just a person..its just a trend i have noted in the past few weeks..we can do better to help each other and encourage ourselves as we go on with this process

Finally, IELTS has been put to the cross.

I have no choice but to step out from the shadows as a keen and silent observer to motivate and encourage someone in this big family.

1st attempt (BC, April '18)
L - 8.5
R -8.0
W -7.0
S - 7.5
Right from the onset, the aim had been to max out to hit 441 (if u know, you know grin). Because of the urge to enter the pool (CRS - 438) and belief that CRS was going to drop based on last year's draws, I didn't bother to request for a remark. After waiting and closely following the draws, I realized that this was not going to happen. I decided to write TEF - I have intermediate french knowledge - in June since I stood a better chance of raking in more points. TEF didn't bulge and humbled me. Still, I refused to be discouraged and remained resolute.

2nd attempt (BC, September '18)
L - 8.0
R - 9.0
W - 6.5
S - 7.0
After putting in extra preparation, BC hit me with this result. I didn't even know whether to laugh or cry but I was certain this was an anomaly. I didn't even think of an EOR as I believed it was a lost cause. As usual, I refused to let it get to me and immediately searched for available exam slots. I decided to give MOD a shot and was lucky to get a seat in less than 1 week outside my town. Yes, the struggle was for 3 additional points but trust me, every single point you can get counts in this journey.

3rd Attempt (MOD, September '18)
L - 9.0
R - 9.0
W - 7.5
S - 8.5

God finally came through for me. Safe to say MOD was the game changer. Waiting for this result was mentally exhausting as I kept second guessing myself all through the waiting period even though I knew I gave my best. To say I am relieved and elated is an understatement. Now sitting at 441 and hoping CRS drops soonest - The next battle !

To everybody battling with IELTS, please do not give up. Remain resolute, prepare harder and heaven will definitely favour you.
woow, amazing result, congratulations!!!!

All these fake age questions should stop please. Did you consult us before you falsified your age? Leave us all out of it and sort out your own mess.

You people are bringing undue scrutiny to Nigerians. Making a mockery of sworn affidavits and NPC birth declarations.

Personally, I believe everybody who has ever had a cause to lie about or to conceal their age is an underachiever and quite frankly a looser.
please watch your words. I agree that they should desist from such discussions but please be polite about it.

Don't worry, the wait gets easier. Since you've passed medicals use your uci to start your prelanding programmes. Those courses are so time consuming, you won't have time to fret over your application.
Yea I just registered, expecting a call from one of their personnel to complete the registration. I hope that helps.

Lol when request for ADR is made your file is 'parked'. E.g., during your R10, a doc is discovered missing. File is immediately parked and ADR sent. You spend 6 days responding. After this they take another one week au minimum to consider the doc you sent. That's instant +2 weeks to your application...

However i don't believe it will slow down things in the long run, will only delay MEP. If you like carry 5 ADR if your file lands Ottawa you're still likely to get PPR before no ADR person that landed Accra.

Everything above just my unfounded theories! (except for the term 'parked' which i discovered via GCMS notes)
Thank you for responding. I submitted the ADR immediately..the next day I think and medicals is passed. The wait is just infuriating and I ordered gcms notes, waiting for that is still another issue..now I understand when folks say the hardest part is the wait till ppr. You really can't do anything but wait
