some of us were no young back then bro, the evil party NRC transformed to PDP. Now how can you convince me that PDP is not an evil party
NRC and sdp dissolved when abacha stepped in. Five new parties wère formed thereafter with members of both parties scattering in the five parties.
The five endorsed abacha for president but there are was an opposition pressure group called G34 formed by Alex Ekwueme. When abacha died, all those politicians and supporters of abacha rallied round and formed APP which we jokingly called Abachas Peoples Party. Ekwueme and other gentlemen who believed in rule of law like Solomon Lar converted that G34 to PDP.
Buhari was a member of that app which he ran for presidency in 2003 and 2007 before breaking away to form CPC in 2011. Those abacha men are all now in APC including tinubu

Lol you guys love to delude yourselves.

How come the President & Commander in chief is the only one that enjoys constitutional immunity, while the heads of the 2 other arms of government don't enjoy that privilege? Veto powers?
Immunity was granted him by the constitution to protect whoever is there from distractions. It's not buhari's power.
And a level of immunity was granted to the leadership of the legislature by the same constitution which ststes that they can only be removed by impeachment of a two third majority vote. An act of the constitution which buhari has moved to rubbish.
Also the CJN as the head of the judiciary also has his own level of protection within the same constitution which stipulates that for a CJN to be removed, it must be by recommendation of the NJC or by two third of the Senate. And this same buhari has also moved to rubbish the constitution again. There is no place in our constitution for suspension of a CJN.

That you all see the truth but let partisan interest blind you to the gross violation of our constitution is very worrisome and a sad development for the nation

Should the notorious cjn who is pro PDP in judgement also head a case against himself.

You have been having sleepless night jumping from thread to thread but that is where your keyboard war can reach

But he's being replaced with a CJN whose wife is an APC senatorial candidate. Not suspected but fact with her posters and campaign known.

While one ordered it to reverse a stand, the other maintained that they are in the right on their stand. You see how both nils off each other.
It will have to take a superior court to change inec stand and with the courts going on a total shut down, I fear the APC may not have time to follow that thru

This is exactly why they were in a haste to remove the CJN and replace him with this 'party man' CJN.
And isn't it a surprise that in less than 24 hours after being sworn in illegally, his first duty is to constitute the panel to sit over the election petitions.
APC is not hiding their intentions and they are brazenly daring us to do our worst.
For a CJN to be removed by the president, he must get two-thirds majority vote of the senate or recommendation by the NJC. Until that is done, this appointment is an illegality and I will advise that the judiciary ignore it and let Walter Onnoghen continue his work as CJN
PoliticsNew CJN, Justice Muhammad, To Set Up Election Tribunal Tomorrow by eyeview(op): 6:46pm On Jan 25, 2019
The new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, will on Saturday (tomorrow), swear in members of the National Assembly, governorship and state assembly election petition tribunals, The PUNCH has learnt.

Muhammad was sworn-in by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday afternoon shortly after announcing the suspension of the substantive CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, who is facing charges of corruption before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The election petition tribunals will be expected to handle disagreements that may arise from the conduct of the elections which begin in three weeks.

Born on December 31, 1953 at Doguwa – Giade, a local government area in Bauchi State, Justice Muhammad attended Ahmadu Bello University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Law in 1980.

He later obtained a master’s degree and doctorate from the same university in 1984 and 1998 respectively.

PoliticsCourt Upholds INEC Ban On Zamfara APC Candidates by eyeview(op): 5:21pm On Jan 25, 2019
By Shittu Shola -January 25, 2019

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday upheld the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to bar all candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State from participating in the 2019 general elections.

The court said INEC acted within its powers by refusing to accept the list of APC candidates for the next general elections.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu said it was not the fault of INEC that the APC failed to conduct a valid primary within the period scheduled by the electoral body.

Mr Ojukwu said INEC’s action was intended to curb impunity among political parties and politicians; ensure that rule of law is adhered to.

The judgment was on a suit filed in the name of APC by some individuals, who said they emerged from a consensus arrangement adopted by the party in Zamfara State.

INEC had in September 2018 barred APC from fielding candidates for the elections over ‘failure to hold credible primary elections’.

“Based on the provision of Section 87 and 31 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended, the commission does not expect that your party will submit names of any candidate from Zamfara State,” INEC said in a letter addressed to the party’s leadership.

“For clarity, our position, therefore, is that the APC will not be fielding candidates for the governorship, National Assembly and state Assembly elections.”

National chairman of the APC Adams Oshiomhole, thereafter, accused INEC of bias.

But, a state High Court sitting in Gusau, in October, issued an interim order restraining INEC from disqualifying the APC from fielding candidates for the 2019 elections.

Any objective Nigerian that is honest to himself knows it that buhari by his words and action is a tribal bigot who can't hide it. I think you are either naive or lying to pretend you don't know that buhari is tribalistic.

Even in his trip at enugu, he even insulted the intelligence of the entire South east and South South to state that his appointment of service chiefs that all northern Muslims is based on merit. In other words, nobody in the security agencies from the south east are worth his appointment.

https://therepublicannews.net/2019/01/24/buhari-to-ndigbo-youre-not-marginalised-i-appoint-heads-of-security-agencies-on-merit/

Please read this. Let's not pretend about this or feign ignorance. He is an unrepentant bigot.

As we prepare to go to the polls i would like to reflect on an event that happened in
1985.

2. IN 1983 the Secretary general of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) DR Edem Kodjo of Togo stepped down prematurely and he was replaced by an alumni of UNN An Igbo man called DR PETER ONU as acting Secretary general.

3. Dr peter Onu was a Nigerian diplomat and philanthropist. He served as an ambassador to Germany.
He was a very brilliant man who was well respected and became friends to the legendary Dr Julius Mwalimu Nyerere of Tanzania

4. In 1985 it was time for an official secretary general of the OAU and most African leaders who were very confident in Dr Peter Onu leadership wanted to vote him to become the secretary General Of OAU.

What happened Next was very shocking to most African leaders

6. What happened was captured in Ibrahim Daggash book called OAU: Fictions and fact.

The book reads

@ I remember in 1985 at African Hall we were campaigning for Dr Peter Onu of Nigeria to be Made the OAU Secretary general.

We learnt that the Head of State of Nigeria General M. Buhari was supporting
another candidate IDI OMARO from Niger republic

7. We were shocked so we mobilized a team to meet with him,
The team was lead by the very popular Julius Nyerere from Tanzania and other African leaders.

8. When we approached him Julius Nyerere begged him:

“Please give us Peter Onu from your country!’

Gen Buhari refused and even got very annoyed with us . What was surprising was that , when the result emerged and the winner was Niger’s Candidate IDI OMARO a Muslim .

General Buhari rejoiced to such a degree that he was unable to control his emotions. That was a moment I witnessed and was convinced that General Buhari would not last long as a leader.” –

9. With that single act General Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria became the only president in History to vote against his own country.

He couldn't bear the thought of an Igbo man heading the OAU so he voted for Niger republic instead

10. Never in the History of Nigeria have we ever had a President that showed Openly his disdain for Ndigbo and
what they stand for. If any Igbo man tells you 4+4. Show them this article
