You will recall that during the interview at The Candidate hosted by Kadira Ahmed, Peter Obi made reference to the promise made by president Buhari and APC on making the naira equal to the dollar but was rudely cut short by Kadira who warned him to get serious as they are not here to play after which she rudely told Peter obi that they have investigated it and no such comment was ever made.

Well, it's either she lied on National TV to defend her brazen partisan leaning to the APC or she is indeed quite poor at investigative journalism because it has been shown that buhari himself actually made that promise before a mammoth crowd of witnesses in owerri, Imo state.
I’ll make Naira equal in value to dollar, says Buhari

Owerri – The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday said he would ensure that the Naira was equal to the dollar in value, if voted into office.

Buhari stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri.

“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said.

He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected.

Earlier, Gov Rochas Okorocha had urged APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, noting that a vote for Buhari without support to others at the state would amount to nothing.

Okorocha said Buhari would address the problem of electricity, bring back the kidnapped Chibok girls and promote industrial growth.

He said that Buhari was loved by the people in the region and urged them to elect him and other APC candidates during the March 28 and April 11 general elections.

Former governor of Anambra, Mr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and former Minister of Education, Chinwe Obaji, were formally welcomed to the APC at the rally.

The rally was attended by APC supporters from Abia, Ebonyi, Anambra, Enugu and Imo. (NAN)

I watched the sowore interview. One thing you could notice was sowore spent 85% of his time highlighting the failures of the PDP and APC and why Nigerians should do away with the old guards. He based almost all his submissions on this premise.
Osibanjo was also starting every answer with "...16 years of PDP ".
But with Atiku and Obi, she clearly warned them not to make reference to the APC.

PoliticsUmahi: ‘I Rented 2,000 Persons To Cheer Buhari In Abakaliki If Not Apc’ll Be Boo by eyeview(op): 9:57am On Jan 31, 2019
The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has disclosed how he rented 2,000 persons to beef up the crowd that came to cheer President Muhammadu Buhari at the Abakiliki Township Stadium. He said he did that to save the president from seeing empty seats because his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not on ground in the state.

He has also debunked allegations that he is paying any amount he likes to workers in the state saying that if he is doing that, he would have long been exposed in the media.

Umahi was reacting to APC gubernatorial candidate, Sonni Ogbuoji’s allegation at the presidential campaign rally at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, that Ebonyi workers have had to endure poor pay, no gratuity for retired workers and even some of them have been reduced to mere slaves that do not deserve any form of promotion.

Speaking to journalists shortly after seeing off President Muhammadu Buhari to his helicopter on his way to Calabar, Umahi denied that the 5,200 workers he inherited had been reduced to 3,200. He said rather than do that, he released the sum of N4 billion to the workers to access soft loans to help them to do any form of agricultural business of their choice. He added that he even had to allow them to use Fridays to engage in any business they prefer that would help them generate additional income.

The governor said: “You see, when they have nothing to accuse you of, they come up with something. In the first place, the staff I met, I have never retired anyone of them and I don’t think two percent of the workforce has been retired. But I have said that there is no need to employ more people because the condition of those in service – not only in Ebonyi State but also, nationwide – is not palatable. So you have to take care of those you have employed before you think of employing more people.

“That is why I made available N4 billion to the civil servants to take loans within a range they can pay back ; even if any of them has up to 25 years to stay in service, the loan will last for 25 years.

“I gave them Fridays free to go and do any agric business of their choice.. Because, I know there is no amount of money you will pay civil servants that will be enough for them; there is always nothing left after paying salaries for you as a governor to work with. Because, the essence of one being in government is to do something for the people; but when you use 100 percent of your earnings to pay salaries, then what are they working for? So, I devised a means whereby everyone should be doing something more useful and that is why we made available soft loan to them.

“If it’s true that I pay the civil servants anything I like, I will be on the pages of newspapers always; you know civil servants are not the type that will keep quiet. Ask them (APC members in the state) what is the GDP of the state like;; ask them the factors and indices that make up the GDP, they won’t know. I am a trained engineer and all my life I have been in business, employing thousands of people, and so I understand what governance and administration are all about.”

He described Ogbuoji as spent force who has nothing to campaign with.

The governor said as the Chairman of South East Governors Forum, he decided to organise 2,000 people to fill the stadium to welcome President Buhari because he didn’t want him to feel he was not liked by the people of the state or the region, that has benefited from his administration’s projects.

Umahi said: “They have nothing to talk about but complaints. The last time Mr. President was here, they wrote a 15-page petition against me and Mr President said to me, don’t allow your frustration to overwhelm you. We have performed beyond human expectations and that is their problem; they have nothing to campaign with.

“When I was a deputy governor, they were all the people we helped. Then, and if you saw their venom against Mr. President when he was contesting in 2015, you would doubt the morality of human beings. So they have nothing to campaign about.”

On the allegation that he bamboozled the president, pretending to be his supporter while he was doing everything underneath to frustration his re-election bid, the governor said: “I don’t understand what they mean by support. We belong to two different political parties and so the support for Mr. President as a governor, is what we are doing.

We are not castigating Mr. President; rather, we are supporting him; that is our support for him. We acknowledged publicly what he, Mr. President ,is doing for Ebonyi State, that is the support we are giving to him.

“Morally and ethically, I am not supposed to come out and start shouting while I’m still holding the ticket of PDP and saying ‘vote APC president.’ But there are many ways of giving support, as the chairman of South East Governors Forum; we have given Mr. President a very good landing opportunity in the South East and definitely he will have more votes that he had the other time.”

On the allegations that he initially denied the APC use of the Abakiliki Stadium, Umahi said: “The first time they wanted to use the stadium, But ;they had two factions of the party, and they were likely going to fight and destroy our property. So, I said no; they should clear with the Commissioner of Police and come up with one set of leadership so that they can use the stadium and I was going to give it to them free of charge.

“Today, not only did we give them the stadium which of course is important of me it to give them when Mr. President is coming;, we renovated the stadium and painted the seats. We called them for a security council meeting; some of them came and we asked them what they want.

“Here Now, the crowd you saw there at the stadium, 2,000 of them were from me because I know they have nobody. But for it not to seem like Ebonyi people don’t love Mr. President, I had to make available 2,000 persons to come and cheer the president. That is why if you check the crowd, while they were castigating me unduly, the crowds were not clapping’, the people were not happy. But for the respect they have for Mr. President, they could have booed them. I had to do what I because i’m not into extreme politics; I’m into politics for development.”

With regards to the interview with Ex Vice President Atiku and Gov Peter Obi moderated this night by Kadira, her performance tonight was quite abysmal.

1.There were deliberate attempts by kadira to demonize their persons and not issues. Extended it to their wives and even parents. But with Buhari, she stayed only on issues. Despite that, Atiku and Obi was able to come out shining like diamond thru the rough. Had this woman gone as brute on buhari/osibanjo as she did today, the federal govt would have found her asset declaration form by now.

2. The PDP candidates were clearly bared and even warned against any form of reference to buhari's govt or APC administration. But at the buhari/osibanjo interview, they had the freedom to take swipes on "16 years of PDP" as their excuse for everything.

3. She constantly cut off any answer that will help the PDP candidates market themselves or their policies. Once it appears Atiku or obi is building points from her question, she will terminate that question and go to another. But if it's one that she feels that can put them in trouble or humiliate them, she will keep coming back to it over and over again. Such was not experienced with the apc chat where a question will be lowered to almost kindergarten level before the president can grasp it. Most of the answers made by Buhari were clearly off the track from her questions but she let it slide.

4. There was a clear attempt to be rude to the guests and even the audience. May be she saw that as a way of showing her authority.

Frankly, in terms of journalism professionalism, she performed below average tonight. But the brilliance and sound responses of Atiku and Obi made up for her talk backs, snaps, rude interruptions etc

PoliticsPresident Buhari Desecrated Supreme Court With Justice Onnoghen’s Suspension by eyeview(op): 10:33am On Jan 30, 2019
Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has been acting in gross disobedience to court orders with flagrant disregard to rule of law while launching attacks on the media.

Kukah who made this assertion in a lecture delivered at the 70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Tribune Symposium held at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Lagos said by sacking the former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, President Buhari has broken into and desecrated Nigeria’s Supreme Court.

He said “There have been attacks on the Media and disobedience of the Courts as we can see in the cases of Sambo Dasuki or El Zakzaky whose detentions several Courts have declared illegal. The Government has continued to act in disobedience”.

“Now, they have broken into and desecrated the Supreme Court to install their own Chief Justice. Who will be next? That is the central question we must face before darkness envelopes us. The Rev. Martin Luther King said that a man cannot climb your back unless you bend it”.

“So, as the elections approach, do yourself one favour. You have listened to all the promises that have been made, the ones kept, hurriedly or strategically. Do not get carried away. On Election Day, before heading for the polls, take a look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself: Am I looking better than I was last year? Do I look healthier? Do I feel more secure?”

“What do I want for my family? Which candidate or Party offers the best opportunity for me to improve my conditions and become a better person, a better and proud citizen? These are the questions. Listen then to Prophet Isaiah who said: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls (Jer. 6:16)” he said
