icemann: Oga the bolded words are Misguiding, so you rate Peugeot above Porsche, M Benz and Volvo?
@ OP, If you live in Nigeria i would advise you to buy a Nissan. Reasons are, 1. The most important, YOUR CAR IS NOT TOP OF THE ROBBERY LIST (Like Honda and Toyota). 2. Its as reliable as "them Toyota"(The reliability dropped in the early 2000's when the stupid French company called Renault had an alliance with Nissan). 3. Buy any Nissan from 2005/2006 and above you would be happy with it.(Avoid them 1998 to 2004. Like i said above, these french people can't make shitt work). 4. They are cheaper than Honda and Toyota in Nigeria due to low demand. 5. Every Kaseem can fix them. 6. Parts are available. 7. Parts are as cheap as other Japs. And 2nd Most important, ICEMANN advised you. (Na Joke) He said Peugeot cars are one of the best European cars and NOT the best European car. He was never comparing with other European brands. |

chibabe3: I told my mechanic last year that I was going to buy a 2003 corolla but the guy advised me against buying the ride. His reasons were that the car is not so strong coupled with the fact that the parts are expensive. Anyway I didn't listen to him as I went ahead and bought it having studied the car very well. I have used the car for more that a year, going to two and now understands why mechanics will not advise you to buy it. Apart from normal servicing, I have never visited the mechanic for any other fault. The other day I saw my mechanic and he was lamenting that he has not seen me this year, 'abi you wan make hunger kill me' Who is ever happy visiting a mechanic, doctor or police. The miles per gallon of the corolla is very much okay and I must say that it is the best car I have ever used. Chibabe3,you and this your passion for Corolla . Step up biko, life is too short to be driving boring cars . |

chibabe3: I used an Infinity QX4 some years back and swore never to drive a V6 again. The ride consumes an average of N1700/day for a distance of 50KM and it was frustrating, expect the consumption to go as high as N2000 when the plugs are bad or any other engine issue. Eventually sold it for 700k and had to give myself a treat and gave testimony for God's deliverance. |

Trafford: Thanks for the reply @eyop... He is actually buying the car but he is being discouraged that parts are very expensive to maintain as he is just started and also an average earner... not too low though and also it's his first car. Hence he needs advice, though he has made his mind up that if it's not Mercedes, He won't be buying any other car. So is it advisable to go for it as a low salary earner and also his first car. And yes it's German spec... Please I need your reply because we will be going to get it this week... All experts in the house @GAZZUZZ @SmartChoices @auhanson @eyop @cne010 If he has made up his mind to stick with the Mercedes brand, then he should shut his ears to side talks. He should forget about the negatives and decide on what he really wants. |
Car Talk › Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Eyop: 7:09pm On Jul 09, 2015 |
leTrizzle: @eyop,please is the C230 engine expensive? Not expensive and even cheaper than a lot of Japanese engines. You shouldn't be thinking towards replacing engine if you take proper care of it by using the right engine oil, servicing as at when due, using the right oil filter, etc. |
