PoliticsRe: NBS' Poverty Metric For Nigeria Per State by EzeNri(m): 10:17am On Mar 06, 2021
Alba3:
Passing Through Ekiti on your way from Abuja to Lagos is a 'short cut' not as if it's a major Express way between the two cities. You hardly go through major towns. So, if I travel from Ikot-Ekpene to onitsha without going through Aba, Owerri, bit of Umuahia and Orlu, I should use mbano, nkwere, umudi, all those villages judge Abia and Imo?
Passing through the villages will show you have the common people live and this is how you judge how rich a state us.

What I saw passing through SW villages is nothing but an eye sore.

Alba3:
The federal universities in Ekiti and Ebonyi were recently created, same time; Oye is still a better place compared with Ikwo. Pride and 'chest beating' are you people's problem.
But your NBS data says Ekiti has richer people than Rivers and Anambra. So, why are you comparing Oye with Ikwo?

Oye should be miles ahead nah.

Alba3:
If you marged the whole houses in Enugu and Ebonyi, they are not up to that of Ibadan alone. That a population of about 7 million people having about hundred thousand building is very poor in percentage, and that's poverty!
Making excuses for poverty.

Alba3:
When 5000 teachers and low earners would have build modest houses in the SW, 200 of people in the same condition are yet to build in the SE. To even buy land is a big issue.
If those things U saw along your villages is what you call modest houses, then we give up on you.

Go to Lagos and see how your people dot the state with bungalows. You will see a family building one rickety stunted building in a full plot.

That rubbish cannot happen in the SE. If you don't have money to build a three storey, the hustle till you get the money.

Alba3:
Yours is capitalist environment; the have, have it all and the others can go to hell.
Socialism breeds lazy people.

Alba3:
I prefer in million of time to live in a spacious bungalow with water flowing freely than to live in those your dangerous, unkept, without water story buildings.
Only fools will compare the quality of residential building in the East with what SW has. Only fools.

If those rickety building is what you can spacious and healthy, then you need help.
Alba3:
maybe you need to enter some of those your story buildings to understand how people crowded them upon unending suffering and smiling. I'm not emotional like you guys... all the places I live in the east, it's a struggle to even buy water; sometimes, it takes water tankers days, you needed to book ahead but I've never bought water in every other state I lived West and North
Lies of a Yoruba moslem. Name all those places and I will bust your lies.
Alba3:
You use water as you like...are that lives or enjoyment for wealthy people as you claim. The population in Abakpa or some streets in onitsha is equivalent to a that of a big town... I can go on and go on. We have a long way to go in Nigeria generally; although the poverty situations in the South are better than the pathetic situation in the North.
SW has more vulnerable households than SE.

Enough said.

We will avenge them even if Biafra comes today. You can't kill 3 million non combatants Biafrans and expect to live the rest of your lives in peace.

PoliticsRe: NBS' Poverty Metric For Nigeria Per State by EzeNri(m): 8:28pm On Mar 05, 2021
Alba3:
You said you passed through Ekiti on your way from Abuja to Lagos; and you used that as your yardstick? Very poor! First of all, most SW cities and towns are not on the main express ways. Let's say you're traveling from Benin via Owo to Ibadan; you will never pass through the main cities and and towns of Owo, Akure, Ilésà, Ifẹ, Ede, etc till you get to Ibadan. You now sit down, judge the states based on where you passed in-between Benin and Ibadan... And you want people to believe your version; that's not common sense! Ede alone has about 4 universities, a polytechnic, nysc camp, 2 army barracks, cocoa processing firms and lots more; not to talk of Owo, Ilesa, ifẹ or Akure... but when you passed through, you only saw the periphery of each; likewise your journey through Ekiti.
I passed through Federal University, Oye. If a college town should look that undeveloped, I have nothing to say to you again.

Again, compare the sight that will greet you in the East when traveling to from Lagos through Edo to what you will get when traveling through SW from Abuja.

Alba3:
Tell me a state in the East with pipe borne water and about 5 water cooperation dams? Maybe you've never witnessed water problems in Abakaliki, even Enugu town. Access to water, food, housing without stress, education and availability of land for use, etc, etc are used not because one man building 10 mansions in the midst of abject poverty, in the midst of millions of adolescent, youths hucking all sorts of stuff in the traffic... there isn't access road to his village and his lga has no bank and less than 5 public secondary schools whereas some lga in the SW have up to 40 secondary schools, and they never really depends on corp members as school teachers...ang there are even tap in school compound.
You Yoruba people are so funny and uninformed.

Are you aware SE have the least income inequality in the country? Onitsha is the most built up urbane city in Nigeria after Lagos, SE has the lowest vulnerable households, Nnewi has the the highest number of billionaires per capita and SE govt imposes the lowest tax. Abia tops FDI destination after Lagos and Abuja.

So what the fvck are you saying about abject poverty.

Only poor people still depend on govt epileptic water supply. Most houses in the East and SS drill their boreholes.

I am not insulting SW but their richest exists only on NBS data sheets and Yoruba media.

They never reflect reality.

Go to Lagos and compare where Igbos live and those of the indigenous populations.

They are different by a long shot.
PoliticsRe: NBS' Poverty Metric For Nigeria Per State by EzeNri(m): 5:34pm On Mar 05, 2021
Alba3:
You may need to go back to school to be able to ague publicly without being considered as inferior. You hardly known the difference between state wealth, few in wealth and majority being comfortable.

You lay so much emphasis on Ekiti being poor. That they're not building 2 or 3 story buildings or not demolishing their old parents or grandparents buildings doesn't make them poor. How many ordinary people can afford to by land in Awka or Owerri? A teacher or bike man that built bungalow in Ado is better and comfortable than his colleagues living in unkept 3 story buildings without water in Onitsha. Ekiti people are known to be among the best and early educated people in the country and majority of Ekiti people live outside the state: in the cities and abroad because of their early exploits in education which didn't keep them in the state.

There is virtually no Ekiti family without cash crops' farm. You can verify how much cocoa or Kola nut farms fetch in a year: there are hundreds of thousands of people from other states, including your people working on these farms and many farm settlements on the roads you referred to as Ekiti villages.

See, there's no single Ekiti town without pipe borne water; there's also water reservoirs and about 10 large dams in Itapa, Ikun, Gogo, Ureje, Ogbese, Itapaji, Gbonyin, etc. The towns and villages are well served with modest roads networks and many of them have commercial Banks. You can't find all these in Enugu and many of your states. Enugu has just 2 towns and that's where you find banks, except one at Orji. The only dam in Ezeagu is only serving firms at 9th mile and government house.

I have lived in every state of the SE. Don't be deceived by businessmen building mansions everywhere but they're still the minority when compared with the general population of the area. However, majority of Ekiti, Ondo, Osun are comfortable. They may not be building story buildings but most of the spacious bungalows are comfortable. My only issue is continuous use of Iron roofing sheets Zinc) being sold to them by your brothers. They're even buying at higher cost than cheapest aluminium sheet; just because of deception that the later will be condemned quicker. There's need to ban Zinc. Most that get money don't believe in show off; they are very modest and concern more about the education of their children. These are indices used in measuring poverty not because state is in debt or story buildings.
In the East, Anambra is a reference point. It competes with the the best in Nigeria, no doubt about that.
I will reply your long with just a few sentences.

A country is as wealthy as its citizens. There is no way Ekiti will have rich citizens and be poor.

SW have more vulnerable households than SE.

Stop making excuses for poverty.

You people are completely out of point. This strike is a warning against persistent looting and burning of Northern traders in the south since during Endsars protest last year and unfortunately the activists, govt, traditional rulers and all southern parrots kept mute about it. A trailer is taxed and extorted not less than N100k in a single trip to southern Nigeria then which tax are u advocating again?
You people like mentioning middlebelt in your statements not knowing that in the current structure of Nigeria with 6 geopolitical zones middlebelt is no longer in existence except in the mouth of some bigots North-Central Christian Association. North is North in reality the except in the eyes and imaginary vsion of Nairaland bigots irrespective of our ethno-religious differences. When u mention states like Taraba, Plateau, Benue u automatically turn the issue to religious ground.
You don't even know where Taraba is that is why you're trying to show your parasitic identity. TY Danjuma is a bona fide Northern Oligarchz he can fight to the death for North; if u see Danjuma barking like dog then he lose the meat he's expecting to get or there is issue of ethnic conflict around his backyard.
Concerning returning power to the North, North is so politically sagacious, intelligent and the best in the art of playing politics. Will it be good to your ears to know that come 2023 we plan to see Tambuwal/Atiku contesting under PDP and Asiwaju Bila Ahmd Tinubu under APC. The match die sweet to counter ur bigotry and leave u thinking of hugging one of Kainji Transformers.
You're on social media making noise while others are there working to actualize & maintain what they're good in!

PoliticsTime To Tax Trailer Loads Of Agric Produce Coming To The South by EzeNri(op): 4:17pm On Mar 03, 2021
Apart from the Mallam close to our Estate gate they rendered jobless I didn't feel the impact of the strike.

I don't eat beef, I eat fish.

I can't remember the last time I eat Northern bean. We eat Yoruba (brown) beans. It is more nutritious and delicious than the white beans and it doesn't purge.

The rice we eat here are farmed in the South. It's of superior quality to the stone-filled Northern rice.

The only thing we missed are the Onions and its not a deal-breaker.

The oil we use in the South comes from Southern oil.

We plant our Egusi, vegetables and maize.

The North don't plant yam. Taraba, Benue, East and SW are heavy yam growers.

Taraba has said it over and over again that they are not Northerners; including Danjuma.

NW claim they feed the whole nation, but data from World Bank shows that 87 percent of the poor in Nigeria reside in the North.

You can't be feeding the Nation and can't feed yourself. It defies logic.

We don't need any food from NW.

I think the South West should create a supply route from the North East and cut off supplies from the NW.

It's cheaper and nearer to the South.

Even in warfare, blockade to food sources is considered a war crime; people who weaponized food supply, can do anything.

I think the Southern governors should start taxing NW food trailers bound to the South.

Create a produce check points at all entrances to the South and clear only trailers that paid the tax.

Use the money to develop the South.

Grant waiver to only trailer from friendly states like Taraba, Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue.

Finally, the South should never allow power to return to the North.

There is no way Ekiti will have fewer percentage of poor people than Anambra and Rivers. I have been to the three states and I know what I saw in Ekiti.

You can't compare a purely civil service state to a state like Anambra that is commerce-driven.

How many Ekiti people are in the civil service and how much is even their salary?

Ekiti is not industrialized and the state is not even doing well in agriculture. The government is even owing salaries.

The prosecution by Jonathan did not stop Tinubu from uprooting PDP from Aso rock. This new round of politically motivated investigation won’t stop him from pursuing his 2023 ambition. They lost the last time, they will lose again.
Unfortunately for you guys, this new EFCC Chairman as Zonal Head of Lagos was investigating Tinubu which Magu sat on.

Four months later, Buhari appointed him as EFCC Chairman.

But the price of the apartment in ajah is too expensive , so I am thinking of moving to ikorodu to reside since the price is relatively much cheaper compare to the island.
Hope this is a good idea, I work in the island , Victoria island precisely and I do normally go home weekends
Many people in Ajah are moving to Ikorodu. You can get a luxury 2 bedroom flat apartment for N150 - N250,000.

A luxury mini flat is N100,000 per year.

Going to work from Ikorodu to Island is very challenging. You have to wake up by 4 am.

There's a jetty in Offin and Bayeku sides of Ikorodu and it costs 1k per trip.

If you have your car, then I will strongly advise you to move to Ikorodu.

You will make close to #6,000 every day transporting people to Island from Ikorodu on your way to work and from Island to Ikorodu. That's over #130,000 free money every month.

If don't have a car, I will advise you get one even if it means taking loan to buy one.

Ikorodu is a nice place but choose your location well.

Igbogbo area is the best part to stay in Ikorodu.
