Seeing Lagos there without any Eastern city is to hard for them to swallow. I'll advise you just leave them alone.

Nigeria itself is a slum. There is no world class city in Nigeria, though we have world class settlements.

You would answer the question yourself, someone whose income per day isn't up to 500naira, where do you think they live? I know hawking northerners or the shoemakers, I understand they can't sleep anywhere; be it mosque, front of a shop, but where do our gala sellers sleep

And please don't ask me how I go to know that of northerners, just tell your relative in Lagos feeding you junk stories to go down to idi Arabs or a particular axis of agege to confirm.
Ok. You have won.

Igbos made Lagos slum, there is no slum in SW, the entire SE is a slum.

It must be really hard for you to see Lagos in that list. You were expecting to see Onitsha and Aba. But in your disappointment you started pushing blames. Even if gala sellers live in a slum, are they the only people there, are there not more yorubas there? They met the slums there and will also leave the slum there.

Your insults won't stop the fact that Lagos is mega city slum and Makoko is a floating slum. Even if the entire SE is a slum, we still know their National Headquarters.

Lagos is even better in infrastructure other part of nigeria are worst i prefer stayin in lagos slums than to live in other part of nigeria
Are you serious? You prefer to live in a Lagos slum than in any part of Nigeria?

In that case, I'll refer you to Makoko, the floating slum.

Mr, we are not talking about the legal part of the business or work they do. What we are on about is where the 500naira perday/IE reside.

The money a lower ranking agbero makes in a day is 4 times or even more than that 500naira.

Please next time talk about what you know, and if you don't know, don't talk or better still, seek to learn. It wouldn't hurt.
So are you telling me now it is one Chinedu, an innocent gala seller in Alaba International Market and Emeka hawking packed water in Ladipo that live in Makoko, the world floating slum?

Lagos is a mega city slum, stop blaming Chinedu and Emeka.

Stop this folly already, Ekiti is a largely rural state. Rural is different from slum.

About 60% of Africa remains rural, can we say 60% of Africa is slum?
Slumming remains a feature of huge urban settlements.

Keep fooling yourself there.
That Aba wasn't listed in the OP's post does not mean it isn't a slum, fool. There are several huge slums in Ibadan, Warri, Benin, Kano, Onitsha, Jos and several other places that were not there.
Like I said, you don't know the definition of a slum. Aba is only characterized with bad roads. Bad road alone doesn't make a city a slum.

I refer to slum site in Nigeria according to wikipedia.

What of the Mega city of Slum?
http://www.irinnews.org/news/2006/09/05/lagos-mega-city-slums

If Aba is a slum, then Aba must be a learner where Lagos is.

About the article you quoted, it doesn't have weight cause it is a mere academic research work and any body can write anything. The author didn't even state the source of that silly assertion. Meaning it is imagination.

The satellite imagery shows that Aba is well planed city. And that is true. But the only problem is Aba road and the current Governor is fixing some part gradually.

Lagos is a mega city slum.

So someone that sells Gala, and makes profit of about 500naira daily lives in isolo? Ikeja? Oshodi?
Lol, please leave that red mud land and come check it out yourself, I am sure the oshodi you talking about is cele and its posh environs..

Agberos don't live in Shanties, but Igbo men doing legitimate business in Lagos are? Don't forget it is in this your Oshodi, SE voted an Igbo man into your parliament. They have large population their. Every part of Lagos, V.I and lekki, they have large representation. Deal with that.

I thought after saying you know nothing, you would try to show I was wrong, but you instead made me very correct.

Its probably what a relative of yours who came to lagos must have told you, that lagos got beggers, no doubt. What you don't know is people come from other states/neighbouring countries to lagos to beg! just like how some folks come to sell gala and lacasera.

Now about where they live, I mean your gala selling folks, if they don't live in shanties or under bridge and festac, where then do they stay.

You can still show me you know something Sir.
A typical Afonja will always insult to deflect attention.

Like I said before, them be Chinese beggars. Maybe it time you travel outside your wasteland. Your brothers are littered in the streets of SE begging. Sorry, Chinese beggars.

So where do your Agberos live?

SE don't stay in Shanties. They are spread in all parts of Lagos. Ojo, Idumota, Oshodi, Aj, Ikeja, Isolo, Mushin. There are are over 35 markets in Lagos and SE have large presence in all.

Glad you agree that our gala sellers are of a particular part of the country, so after selling gala, do tell me where they live? The posh houses in festac? You know nothing man!
No. Chinese beggars. Always dirty. The Fulani and Hausa beggars are not even that dirty.

They don't live under the bridges nor Shanties. They made more money than you can possibly imagine. The Agberos and Ashawos live there.

There are large population of SE in Festac. Festac is on lock down for SE.

When we move some gala selling immigrants back to where they came from, be sure we would have no slum.
Then move your parasitic beggars back to your slums.

We don't do begging. We are too sophisticated for that. Those gala sellers are our equivalent of your beggars. Where we come from, we rather sell gala or packed waters than to beg. Atleast we are not parasitic. Show me 1 Igbo beggar and I'll show you 150 Afonja beggars and 155 Northern beggars.

I know you haven't gotten over the obvious. Lagos is a SLUM and their is not slum in SE. We have bad roads just like other regions, but we don't do slum like your wasted lands.

All the zincos go dey kpokpo eyes dey find Onitsha. I wonder how they will feel seeing the 4 largest slums in Nigeria and top 5 slums in entire Africa is in their almighty Lagos. For their tiny mind "Onitsha is the most populated city in the world nah".

Yes, it is. It is industrial population. Signifying the massive industrialisation of the area. None of the slums in Kenya, Lagos, India not even the largest slum in world, Mexico topped the list of the most populated. It is Onitsha that is far more developed and cleaner than them all.

The only problem with SE is bad road, we don't do slums. Even Aba that has the worst roads in the entire SE doesn't have any slum comparable with the smallest slum in Lagos. I once saw a report that says that any child born in the SE have the highest probability of not being born into a slum.

Forward it to the Secretary to the State Government and a copy to the Agric Ministry.

24 Billion is not #24, so you have to diversify the source of the funding, and it shouldn't put much pressure on the govt.

Convince the foreign partner first. Know how you present yourself 'cause their will be trust issue.

Lemme help you a little here. Tell the company how many of their product enter the country, tell them the amount of efforts being put into local production, let them also know about government position on importation and how they will lose their market share in the largest market in Africa if the govt finally ban the importation of their product. Make them realise that they can still retain that market share, grab more and consolidate it by investing in the country. Make them know that following this part will give their product price advantage over other brands because there will be no more tariff to add to the cost. Finally let them know the government will be willing to partner with them under a PPP arrangement.

Your other proposals, which industry are they in?

GoodLuck.

Well actually those are rough estimates
Chat me up with my number let's talk more

And honestly am not in anyway tribalistic
Ok. Only someone that is intelligent can run that analysis.

Like someone said draft a proposal and forward it to the state government. Make sure all data you use are verifiable. Pay much attention to the funding, 24 billion is much for our looting government to invest into peoples' oriented projects. So that funding should be spread over about three years.

The government will be interested in the work force, so your proposal shouldn't miss on that, including the machineries.

Another issue is, the 6 million projected output, how do intend to market them all within a year. If you ever wish to clear all stock within that period, don't sell directly to consumers, use accredited private mega distributors. Sell only to the Mega Distributors and this should be strictly adhered to. One in each city. One single mega distributor in Yenagoa, PH, Asaba, Warri e.t.c. Each distributor receives the goods on credit and pays every three months. Shouldn't be pay before service. The company should handle delivery not the Mega Distributors. This is the marketing secret of the Igbos. That is why all Igbo wholesalers are multi-millionaires.

Your model should have a clearly defined positioning statement, as well as a clearly defined, Competitive Strategy Statement.

The government will also be interested in the long term survivality (if there is any term like that) of the project. What will be the ability of the investment to survive over various government. In your model, great a strong management succession policy. The government will be more interested if private partnership will be part of the project. To achieve this, draft a separate proposal and forward to Thai firms. If you are able to convince by painting the exact scenario in the country, our population, our rice consumption, our local production capacity, average market price of imported rice, tariff cost, the size of our labour and cheap cost of our labour. You will be able to convince them, if government can make little tax concession. But the truth is, energy will make it difficult for foreign companies to invest here.

It won't be easy.

I don't do instant messengers.

Am sorry, you have a rich record of tribalism, and it people like you that made us make tribalistic comments to defend our tribe.

Goodluck.

24 billion naira invested in rice farming (which the state has good land for) will cultivate over 50000 hectare of land and build a world class mill..
This will produce atleast 6 million 50kg bags of rice
this will give the state over 50bn revenue yearly. ..
reduce our forex demand
grow the nations GDP,
create over 100000 direct employment and over 500000 indirect employment
Reduce the price of rice by over 50% in the south south region

All this in 18 months.. . But an airport which will break even in say 20 years is better??
U are intelligent, but your problem is tribalism.
Please justify those statistics you gave. How do you arrive at those figures? Am interested in the parameters you used.

About the regional rice consumption, am interested, how did u arrive at?

Even their first indigenous warship NNS Andoni was even built by Engr. Kelechi of the NN.

The warships have seen action in Libya, acquired by the Libyan govt.

While the NAF were busy popping champagne for arming a military jet abt a wk ago, Ojukwu achieved that with passenger planes as far back as 1970.

While Proforce that prides itself as No 1 defence contractor in Nigeria couldn't save our Alpha jet, Innoson a non-defence company did.
