Nwokem uchi odikwa ya?

This is not a SE thing but Imo state. It is a burden for Imo state, so it cannot escalate for any reason. I just got to Onitsha last night to see my parents, it is quite peaceful here. Everyone is going about peacefully as usual.

Except for news report I don't even think people here is aware of the Boko haram attacks that killed Imolites in their state.
It didn't escalate cos the Police was timely. Not even that, the 2 deads had been avenged by over 6 to 1.

In my opinion it's too early to call PMB a failure. He seems to mean well for the country and he's got a plan or formula. In about a year to or at the end of his tenure,the score cards are there for us all to mark.

**Edited**
We don't have to insult ourselves when we have to register our opinions. I made my submission after critically considering some factors. You need to be logical and perhaps reasonable when making your criticism,unlike the unruly ways some guys quoted me. Really,I am not a party person,I am in no way associated with PMB's party and I am personally not happy with our current economic situation. My point was/is,after his 4 years we have the reserved power to decide if he's to stay or leave. I am really not pained or disturbed by the insults passed on me by those of you who abusively quoted me. We are still friends and I do adore you guys. Cheers!

Cassandra destroying GEJ's legacies since 29th May.

I can still remember how GEJ and Prof fought polio tirelessly, how GEJ and Mama NOI repositioned the economy, how GEJ's repositioned sports winning 10 gold medals in football, how GEJ and Barth gave me 18 hrs of light per day, how GEJ and Madueke made sure I don't lack petrol for my, how GEJ made INEC an Internationally reputed organisation, but in this era of change, CHANGE has done as usual.

I don't just blame Cassandra, but the zombies cheering him when he left our economy, health, petroleum, sports, power sectors on autopilot. Even the INEC he managed not to leave on autopilot, he as well succeeded in destroying it with his sectional appointment. Destroying GEJ's legacy of democarcy in Nigeria.

I won't ask God to run the life of zombies the way cassandra is running Nigeria, but rather the grace for their speedy recovery cos that their virus na die. Sometimes I wonder if it is actually a virus or computer programme.

APC and bad news is like 5 and 6.

GKAfrica:
You will still cannot bit PMB in 2019. The later commentator has the right calculation. In Nigeria history, the North & SW usually play the vital role in determing who becomes the President. Why? This is dated back to the pre-colonial era, unlike SE or SS, the north and the west were known for coercive empires and that help their politics till tomorrow. SE/SS are just learning that.. Imagine, everyday we hear of new militant group springing up in the SS thus resulting to centrifugal pressure within the regions. Have you ever heard another militant group in the west apart from the OPC? The west was instrumental to GEJ becoming the President, he didn't even have the boldness to step up after Yardua's demise ( Turai took over the power at the moment ) until the people fought for GEJ.

Forget it, APC/Bihari will still continue after 2019 regardless the level of militancy, sabotage, propaganda or uproar in the economy or SS/SE.

They no get the liver.

Watch out, by God's grace I will pull out this remark of mine in 2019 to remind you all by the time APC remain in power in 2019.

Long Live the Nairalanders! Long Live Nigeria!!
PMB is President cause GEJ only wanted him to be President. Assuming GEJ is not the type of man he is, no amt of APC wailer can stop him from being President. Am not talking about rigging election, am talking abt using constitutional power to perpetuate himself in power. I could still remember how the Northern Elders crawled on both legs begging GEJ to allow election hold in the NE. I couldn't still remba how the northern elite rejoiced when GEJ reaffirmed his commitment to have election in the NE during the PDP National Convention.

We made a mistake in 2015, and we are going to correct it. We were over confident. But 2019 will be total war to save the soul of Nigeria.

If u are still banking on the Middle belt, u are on a long thing.

Should GMB impose himself in 2019, what happened to PDP will happen to APC. Take it or leave it, El Rufai is APC's 2019 Presidential candidate and Fashola as running mate. Bookmark this page.

Igbos are generally apolitical, but in 2019 we shall make a statement cause it is a war we are fighting.

2019 will be interesting and APC will emerge the loser. Bookmark this page.

Aisha was not in the USA. Stop deceiving yourselves.
1. No foreign media reporter it, only SR broke the news.
2. Dulles International Airport does not have a record of Nigerian Airforce plane on ground.
3. There was no video evidence of her visit
4. The pix of her arrival in Dulles airport is different from the known pix of the airport's terminal
5. The website of US Institute of Peace does not have a record of any event with her on their past event pages
6. The VOA does not even have any record of interview with her.
7. She was represented at the Zamunta launching.

Before I met this thread I used to believe Aisha is in the USA. I made few researches and found some inconsistencies that made me now believe otherwise:

1. No foreign media house (CNN, BBC, VOA, Al Jazeera etal) reported the visit. Only Nigerian media houses citing Sahara reporters as source. It ïs not possible that Nigerian first lady will visit USA without CNN carrying the news.

2. The VOA does not have the transcript of the alleged interview with Aisha on their website. In fact, no single result was returned for the search 'Aisha Buhari' on their search page.

3. The Past Events page of the website of US institute of peace does not record any event with Aisha.

4. For the first time under Obama's administration, Michelle fails to host a visiting first lady. Meaning the wife of the President didn't visit.

5. I don't want to talk about the arrival hall of the Dulles Airport.

Below image is Dulles main terminal lifted from wikipedia. It is different from the one Aisha Used.

My man I do not like the type of federalism we currently practice. I call it a feeding bottle government that lends itself to over dependence on a single product. It's way too unproductive and expensive to run. What business do we have running 36 states for crying out loud. How many of those states are viable? It's ridiculous.

I prefer a weakened central government and provinces across the country that represents natural divisions. But at the same time each Nigeria has the freedom of movement to any of this administrative units. And one thing I'd get rid off is the stupid state of origin that is totally meaningless for all practical purposes. So your ancestors settled in an area! So what? A lot of Nigerians can't relate with their so called state of origin. How does that useless demographic help for anything?

Anyways back to the structure. Our current revenue sharing formula is stifling innovation. We've now only been forced to look onwards coz our darling oil is in the toilet. What if each state truly fends for itself? Would we have tons of civil servants on government payroll? Would the likes of Osun state not have found a way to commercially mine Gold or Ebonyi mine Zinc, copper etc?

I hate our structure with a passion. But we need to remain one country with the goal of regionalism in our immediate and intermediate plans.

Last time we witnessed real development was under a regional structure. So it shouldn't be a hard sell for any Nigerian that means well.
I Luv ur analysis. Am impressed.

I think you are spot on. But rather than looking at it by regions, I'd look at it by individual states. But SS has a region is effed no doubt but when we bring the magnifying glass out. Osun and Ekiti are is in ruins.
Am always impressed with ur analysis. U are an intelligent fellow.

Many states have no business being a state. Let just revert to regionalism, where the ethnic groups identified by language similarities form the federating units. Let the Hausa/fulanis, Kanuris, Tiv, Igala, Idoma, Yorubas, Igbos, Ijaws, Efik, Isokos, Urhrobos, Ïtsekiris, Annags, Ibibios, Ogonis, kalabaris form the federating units. To deal with the issue of majority and minority dichotomy, the total number of votes u pulled in an election does not matter, but rather the person that wins the largest number of regions. For instance, if an Igboman wins in the SE with 1billion votes and one Alhaji wins NW (Hausa/Fulani) with just 10 votes, both are counted as just one vote. The NASS will have just 1 chamber (unicameralism) where each region no matter the population will send equally number of parliamentarians while the Regional Parliaments having 2 chambers.

The regions can be divided into provinces governed by an elected Mayor.

I luv a country where majority and minority dichotomy is withered away. This country was systematically skewed to promote flawlessly that dichotomy. A dichotomy that had over the years favour an unproductive section of the country. The funniest thing is that, that section had produced the largest number of Heads of State, looted the highest amount from the treasury, boast of the largest population (largest market) yet wallows in poverty. I think it is time we implement this model or related model and separate the swimmers from the sailors. Believe me, the swimmers will learn to become sailors by force.

Aren't u tired of the type of federation we operate.
Politics › Re: Check Your State Domestic Debt Chart- Debt Management Office by EzeNri(m): 12:42pm On Aug 03, 2016
Comparative Analysis by Regions

SE= 180.6 (7.2%)
SW= 565.8 (22.6%)
SS= 868.4 (35%)
NE= 212.6 (8.5%)
NW= 270.3 (10.8%)
NC= 272.3 (10.9%)

Note: FCT was excluded

Verdict: the SE is the best in fiscal management. Their GDP can comfortably service the debt without much strain on their economy.

The SW has a large GDP capable of servicing the debt, but they should expect some strain on the economy, which if properly managed will not adversely affect their economy. With the number of professionals in the region, this will not be a problem. It would av been better if buck of those debt were expended on capital project.

The SS have succeeded in mortgaging the future of their generation. With an economy entirely dependent on the volatile oil market, and a workforce dependent on other regions (SE and SS) for skilled and semi skilled labour, and with an informal sector operated by other regions especially the SE, am afraid the debts aint sustainable. I pity for their unborn generation.

The NC, NE and NW were moderate with their debts because of their low GDP. Higher debt would have been an economic suicide for regions that had known nothing but poverty, security crisis. Inspite of their low debts, the SS possesses mch potential than the 3 regions joined together.

Kayfra, what do you think?

A Major is a commissioned officer, but a junior FIELD OFFICER. He can hold a staff appointment at his level, usually executive position in a battalion.
