"Whereas the end of Dasuki has thinly made the point that the Jonathan administration elevated the sweetness of the 'While we let live, let us live' philosophy to a disgusting and choking plaster,
it should again be stated that beyond the current calling out of a Ballyhoo (a kind of fish) for an appropriate punishment,
the challenge is how to ensure that each public officer is henceforth subjected to the Sacrificial path of the 'It is sweet and honorable to die for one's country' philosophy.
But can we break away from the faithful circle of flogging ourselves to death?"

Science/Technology / Re: Extreme Weather Conditions: 19 Coldest And Hottest Inhabited Places On Earth. by Ezenwa11(m): 4:26pm On Dec 08, 2015
Explorers:
As most of the northern hemisphere is currently huddled under blankets and battling frigid temperatures, it might be hard to imagine any place on earth that could get colder than the subzero temperatures that many populated cities struggle with in the coldest months of the year. Yet, humans are remarkably adaptable and over the millennia have found ways to make do in some of the most extreme and inhospitable climates on earth. From fiery heat in the Sonoran Desert to extreme cold in Russia, Greenland and Canada, the following are some of the most inhospitable places (as far as temperature is concerned) where people carry on life, and have for centuries. Robust heaters or reliable air conditioners are definitely recommended in these places.

Sorry to say, this is bullshiit, with all due respect mr Fidelis.

Dont reinvent the wheel, i am no hater.

Nigeria needs INNOVATION, not trying to compete with oyinbo, you will never win, this piece of metal is PLAYING TO THE GALLERY.

We NEED LOCAL TECHNOLOGY TO VERY PECULIAR LOCAL NEEDS.
How about designing cheap but efficient and effective local threshers for our maize and rice farmers ?

How about moving scarecrow for rice farms to scare birds from eating up? e.t.c

Designing planes, helicopters, and excavators in a 3rd world country in 2015 is not harnessing your technology to suit pressing needs.

Try to be specific while posting next time so that your claims can be verified. Hmmmm let me not over blown my trumpet but fish is smelling, sorry I meant to say that something is fishy.

Romance / Re: A fellow Nairalander needs your advice before crossing the rubicon. by Ezenwa11(m): 6:16am On Nov 03, 2015
Iamthewatcher:
I met my fiancee some few yrs ago. I've agreed to marry her but there are factors I still want to give a final consideration before signing the dotted lines. These are:

1. She is not literate but willing to go to school. I never dreamt of marrying an illiterate when I, myself is a graduate. Her waec result is nothing to write home about. In fact she wasted her time in secondary school as far as I'm concerned and when I asked her why she was such an olodo, she quickly blamed those she lived with. She said because she was more or less a maid then, she hadn't much time for her studies and that's why she failed woefully. When I met her, her use of english was zero and I had to exert much effort to bring her to the level where she could converse freely with me at least in english. She retook her ssce and credited all subjects except math.

2. She's 2yrs and 3months older than me. Some argue that a woman will age first when older and that's the reason men go for younger women or at worst, their age mates.

3: She sometimes feel inferior to me cos' of my literacy and polished way of going about my stuff.

4. She has a fat tummy. This I perceived to be an upshot of her eating habit before I met her. Can you believe that it was when I started staying close to her that I discovered that she doesn't drink water after eating. Maybe she does that very much later. She was an expert in devouring meat with her friends and never exercised. I also had to teach her to drink water first thing in the morning before taking breakfast. I discovered that her mouth was always dry as a result of this disgusting lifestyle. If she wants to have a word with me in low tone, I do perceive some offensive odours from the mouth sometimes. All this are changing slowly now cos' a damage of so many years can't just be corrected overnight. I'm putting much effort into rearing her cos' she's a wife material.

There are one or two other drawbacks I won't like to go into now as the aforementioned factors are the ones that baffle me the most. I sometimes get so annoyed and start abusing her. But she also has her good sides that even attracted me to her which are:

1. She is well-mannered.
2. She can cook very well.
3. She is very hospitable.
4. She's very respectful.
5: She's pretty and fair.
6. She's a wife material.
7. She's reserved.

The crux here is that we are presently, not on the same page as far as being learned and refined is concerned and I want to marry someone who'll be very refined as well. Though we stay as friends but I feel she doesn't measure up.
So my people, if you were in my shoes, can you go ahead and marry her despite these bad sides??
Pls and pls, helpful comments will suffice.

Cc: Lalasticlala
Believe it or leave it, you are not ready for marriage. There's no perfect woman anywhere in the world. If you want to marry a perfect match, 50 women combined together will not give you that. You have stayed with this woman for long, nurture her as you have always been and ignore those characters you can ignore. get married to her and live a happy life. Remember, you too are not perfect.

Politics / See Why River State Election Was Cancelled. by Ezenwa11(m): 7:21am On Oct 28, 2015
I was offered bribe, then threatened and eventually removed
as the chairman of the Rivers state governorship petitions
tribunal- Justice Pindigi
Justice Pindigi, the former chairman of the Rivers state governorship petitions tribunal, has recounted his experience at the tribunal. He said , " Two weeks before I was removed as chairman of the Tribunal, I got a call from an unknown number, asking for an appointment for us to meet in Kaduna. And I asked, what for? And the caller said, it's on a need to know basis. That the details of the meeting would be made known to me in Kaduna. And I declined. The next was a call from the DSS, saying they were all expecting me at the meeting in Kaduna. And demanded why I turned down the appointment. And I said, I'm a chairman of a Tribunal, and do not have the luxury to attend meetings. Especially one without an agenda. And the caller from DSS said there was a petition of fraud against me, in a case I handled in Kaduna in 2009. And I asked him to charge me accordingly, in line with the extant laws. I was called again by another caller; who apologised to me, on behalf of the DSS. And offered to compensate me for the harassment I received from the DSS, and rescheduled another meeting, in Kaduna. And I declined again. And the next was a letter removing me as the Chairman of the Rivers State
governorship petitions tribunal, and replacing me with Justice
Ambrosa. As is the practice, I offered to brief Justice Ambrosa, on the proceedings so far, but he said that won't be necessary that he has been following the case. Now, on the judgement delivered by Justice Ambrosa; it will be unethical and unprofessional to denigrate, or condemn the judgement of a contemporary colleague. However, the Supreme Court has said, that for an election to be annulled, the petitioner has to prove that elections didn't hold at the polling units, where the winner was returned elected. And I'm not sure that the Ambrosa's judgement, arrived through that route "

Politics / True Meaning Of APC Revealed. by Ezenwa11(m): 11:43pm On Oct 20, 2015
APC =Amechi's problems continue.
JONATHAN & AMAECHI TODAY: WHO SAYS THERE IS NO
GOD?
Former President Jonathan is currently under the international
klieg light, enjoying world adulation as the hero of democracy,
hence his invitation to Tanzania to help midwife yet another
process. Former Governor Amaechi, on the other hand, is in
lonesome hiding, with his tail in between his legs, in a room in
Abuja, grappling with the shame of a third rejection and
ignominy by the Senate. Jonathan arrived the world stage via
his rare statesmanship that has kept us together as a country.
Amaechi on his own, is a political reject; repeatedly spurned
by the Senate, on behalf of the people of Niger Delta he took
the elephant (President) from, in return for an ant (Senate) he
wants for purely his personal ego?
Where is all the prodigal bravado that made him the darling of
those that never meant well for the Niger Delta and were
egging him on to the path of treachery against his people, for
their own selfish ends? On helping them fell their elephant,
why did they make away with the entire game, leaving him to
scrap and scratch for leftovers? Why did they not give him one
of those big jobs that needed no screening like the SGN,
National Security Adviser, etc, if he is indeed their 'lion and
amazon' of their own Niger Delta that is no fit for the
Presidency and only good for mindless rape for her resources?
Could it be they really wanted him screened out actually so
they can wash their hands off any likely allegation of not
wanting him in their government? Do they really see him as an
ally? Is somebody truly f**cked here?
Well, for me, what you wish and give to others; God merely
keeps for you, to be handed back at the right time. Now,
Jonathan is full of smiles, feeling the love and glorious
adulation of the whole world. Amaechi is gnashing his teeth in
Abuja, feeling the fury and rejection of the people, wishing his
nightmare was not real. But in this his rare moment of
introspection, will he avail himself of the moral lesson in his
travails, which is that man should limit his trust in his worldly
abilities; possessions, positions, power, and the highly placed
friends they attract? He had forgotten all these were transient
when he was insulting and mauling the person and office of
Jonathan, his brother. He did everything to stop Jonathan.
Today, he is doing everything to survive being stopped from
realizing his ambition, that has become an endless circle of
come-today-come-tomorrow. How would he be asking God in
his prayers to help him, knowing he had done to his own
brother yesterday what is being done against him today?
