sjeezy8:No, he kind of look like an older version of Faze though. tpiah:You unmarried old hag, do not talk to me in such a way. Especially an Aro man. You may not heard of us, but we don't take to kindly to people insulting us and our lineage. Otu gbawa kwaa nnegi onye wayo dikagi! |
PPD? ppA? GGD? AGA? WDH?
Let me guess, only AC and PDP that you know? Typical Yoruba. Don't know about the rest of Nigeria. ![]() |
sjeezy8:Well for all you know, they could have some Igbo in them, due to their slave ancestry. The small drop of Igbo blood if it is there, may be good for them. Does the name Chinua Achebe ring a bell? |
tpiah:Just hush you old hag. We don't have white ancestors. We are just naturally light. See you Yorubas always trying to bleach your skins to look like us. |

are you sure or you are just it for saying sake.the few ibo on the political spot hardly form alliance with the yoruba especially those in the opposition party.Ac cuts across yoruba to edo state but hell no way would ppA or Aga cross their boundary.
Igbos deal with Ibibio, Ijaws, Efik, Ogoni, Calabari, Kalabari, Idoma, Igala and other easterners. Sometimes Urhobo as well. Wole Soyinka would get wide support from the Igbo since he has always been a friend of the Igbo. It must be something in that Yoruba bloodline of his that he shares with Fela Kuti and others. These people have been Pan-African unlike the rest of the Yoruba population. |
There are plenty of albinos in Igbo society though. Common sights throughout any Igbo family. This is just a genetic miracle though. |
No. I'm a Yoruba and def dont fit into your mentality.
Of course you don't cause you are a woman. Politics is mostly for men if I am not mistaken. There are a few Iron ladies but they act like men. |
You're a funny kid, you know.
Isn't true Yoruba fashion the same as living in a Machiavellian world? lol ![]() Once you get to the top of the mountain, make sure all rivals are subdued? Do or die? |
asha 80:English is a hybrid language. It has a lot of similarities with German since they are both Germanic language but it is technically a Romance Language descended from Latin as well. French is germanic also since the Franks originated from Germania as well. And English was influenced by French after the Normans led by William the Conqueror invaded England and established Norman rule. |
sjeezy8, OBJ was trying to save anyone. He was in it for himself. He didn't care about the rest of you Yorubas. That is why he prevented any Yoruba from getting as much exposure as him in true Yoruba fashion. |
tribalists don't make good politicians which ezeuche happens to be one.he would prefer an ibo dominated party.
You are the true tribalist. I have no problem supporting Wole Soyinka. I even give this man praise which he so rightfully deserves. See this is a true Igbo man supporting Wole Soyinka. I don't care if he is Yoruba, the man has integrity! And we Igbos support people with integrity. |
redsun:Actually English is a Germanic language. The original language of Great Britain was a Celtic language that was similar to Scottish, Welsh and Irish. English is a Romance Language that is descended from Latin just like Spanish, Italian and French. Plus, after the Norman invasion, French mixed with Anglo-Saxon language that was brought after the Roman left the island as their empire was crumbling. |
^^^^^^^ She should of went to France. I said set it up as the official language that goes with English or Spanish. French is not widely spoken. Ghana's official language is English, but Twi is widely spoken in which people learn that African language as well English. If we had our own nations we could focus on our languages and allow English to be spoken. |
Andre Uweh:How are you going to tell me? Go to Northern Ghana and Hausa is spoken. Go to Northern Togo and Hausa is spoken. Go to Burkina Faso and Hausa is spoken! Why do you think BBC, has a Hausa section in its news besides Swahili. |
chiogo:I am talking about having our own nation so we can preserve our language. If we had our own country, our language would be the dominant language and the minority groups can keep their language, but also learn Igbo. Plus we have to get rid of these different Igbo dialects. I blame the parents though. My own cousins who were raised in the States can't speak Igbo. But another one of my cousins who was raised in Britain can speak it fluently. |
lol how when each "countries" have their own different language? What is it unifying?
We will teach our children both Yoruba and Igbo so don't worry. ![]() |
That is why we need our own countries! If there was a Biafra, Igbo would only be spoken except for English. Just like Twi is popular among Ghanaians besides English, we would be using Igbo. The Yoruba could have their own Oduduwa Republic where Yoruba would be the official language. Hausa is actually easy to learn for people, and that is why they don't have a problem. It is like the Lingua Franca in Northern Nigeria, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso. |
Chinese is a hard language to learn! Trust me. I thought I was good with languages until I tried learning Chinese. A paragraph could be made out of one word! Shi shi shi shi! Shi shi shi shi. . . Shi shi shi shi shi shi. Shi shi shi shi shi. Shi Shi Shi Shi Shi Shi Shi Shi! Off of one word! Could mean different things. Igbo is a tonal language but not that complex like Mandarin Chinese. |
ode remo:Chineke kpokwa gi oku! ![]() See the language is still alive through me. |
I converse in my mother tongue daily. You rarely hear English being spoken only Igbo! Even the Ijaws and Ibibios speak Igbo so I don't understand why there is all this nonsense about the language dying. Maybe it is those Igbos in Lagos who can't speak their language. |
If he can get other progressives with him, then he has my support. I hope Wole Soyinka succeeds. |
Tell me u meant to write "IBO" instead of Yourba in the above sentence!!!
I meant what I said. You don't see Igbos killing each other like the Yoruba do. We may kidnap, but we don't kill each other. Do or die politics of the Yoruba. Zik should be happy he made it back to the East in one piece knowing the Yorubas track record for killing rivals. |
yiboboy:Shut up little boy while grown folks are talking. I am half Ibibio so how will you tell a true son of the Niger Delta how we feel. I am getting tired of you people pushing lies. It is sickening. If you are not from the Niger Delta, then shut up. I at least speak a major Niger Deltan language fluently and that is called Ibibio! |
Onlytruth is speaking the truth. Igbos have been trading with the coastal people even before the white man came. The East has similar cultural heritages as well. It is hard to tell the difference between an Igbo man or an Ibibio man since our cultures are so similar. A non-Eastern people would not know our deep cultural links. People forget that Jaja was an Igbo man who created a powerful coastal state. These lies that the Yoruba and Hausa have spread throughout the East, is not being listened to anymore. A divided East is what these people fear. You made the Ijaw our closest cousins hate us, you made the Ogoni another one of our closest cousins hate us, and you tried to make the Ibibio hate us as well. But now we are starting to create a united force against you fools. Stay on your side of the river Niger. Oh I forgot leave the Delta Igbos alone as well. |
Yorubas are the biggest proponents of One Nigeria but they never practice what they preach. When Zik was being a Pan-African, they stopped him from realizing his dream. They act just as parisitical as the northeners. The only reason why the Yoruba are not a bigger threat, is that the Yorubas hate each other more than hate others. ![]() |
Onlytruth:Gbam! Correct assessment! |
![]() Chei! Yorubas. . . |
You know, the yorubas are responsible for world poverty and hunger. How about that?
The way it seems, there must be a Yorubaman behind it. ![]() |
sjeezy8:See what you Yorubas did? You all should have left well enough alone. Then that would not have caused any friction between the Igbos and the Ibibios. See everything starts with the Yorubas. I am starting to see a pattern. Chaos in the West leads to the coup. Zik being forced out causes friction between Igbos and the Ibibio. I am starting to see a pattern. ![]() |
Katsumoto:You already know. But that would not have happened if you Yorubas did not kick him out. Not saying what Zik did was very good, my grandfather and father actually were horrified what he did. |
Katsumoto:Zik was just being a Pan-African. He did not care what tribe a person came from. He truly believed in One Nigeria. In the East, we did not have an Igbo in control, we had an Ibibio in control. |
And there is no difference between Efik Ibibio Calabari And I think Ogoni It is all Ibibio. When an Efik speaks, I understand his language, when a Calabari speaks, I understand what he is saying. The Ibibio people need to unite. |

Badagry to be exact, not 2 talk of Ondo and Ogun.
