Yorubas are the present-day whiners. Just a few of them have been killed in the North and they are already talking of seceeding. What will happen if they are massacred in numbers?
They will do nothing. It is funny how the Hausa treat them like houseboys. The Yorubas are weak. Only a few of them are strong. The others just wait in the shadow until danger is over.

All these Yorubas getting upset, because we are speaking the truth about their saint. lol grin

Awo had typical traits that can be found in many of his people. He was like a snake who could not be trusted. The man talked out of both sides of his mouth.

Obafemi Awolowo brings so much emotions in me, sometimes I cannot contain my anger whenever I hear his name mentioned!  angry

I know I shouldn't use his actions to paint the whole Yoruba nation black, but it is kind of hard when you have these Awolowo apologist running around.

A very dumb attempt at changing the trajectory of discourse. I really pity your type because since the war ended, your people in the north have fallen on top of the same sword used against ndigbo and other Biafrans, and they have done so multiple times and will continue doing so. Your people are still being executed in full public glare and you are here yapping about a man so loved and cherished by his people that they listen to him more than they will listen to the Nigerian president.

Like Afam pointed out, ndigbo have really moved on and learned all the necessary lessons. That is why it will never happen to us again in Nigeria. That is why it will keep happening to everyone who tries to revise the murderous history of Nigeria.
Some of my brothers such as yourself have become pacifist. The Igbo should always be ready for war. If we must fight another war in order to protect our people, then so be it. I will not be a lamb so we can be slaughtered by the wolves.

I pray for the day when Alaigbo will be free of this prison we call Nigeria!!!
Politics › Re: Civil war not against Ndigbo — Gowon by EzeUche(m): 6:47pm On Feb 13, 2010
These people will never apologize. That is why we have no business in this union.

The marginalization of the Ndi Igbo will not bode well for the future of Nigeria since the Igbo are a major ethnic group in this federation.
Politics › Re: Lagos Rated ‘fifth Worst City’ by EzeUche(m): 6:07pm On Feb 13, 2010
Yup, as soon as I fly into Lagos, I cannot wait to get back to the East.

However, I do enjoy staying in Abuja when I have a chance to get up there.

Now I do enjoy visiting family members living in Victoria Island.

Desmond Tutu of South Africa also became the leading voice for black south africans after Mandela was arrested.
They stood against social injustices. However, when a man of the cloth, gets involved in politics such as giving a critique of a politician. That is not his place. Talk about the social injustices.

The Biafran War remains an open sore for all of Nigeria. And we all know what happens to sores when they are not treated. They get infected!

In addition, the East will always remain a place of contention as long as oil flows through its veins.
Politics › Re: Civil war not against Ndigbo — Gowon by EzeUche(m): 12:15pm On Feb 13, 2010
Gowon that foolish person need to keep his mouth shut.

And the weak Yoruba who commented on this thread need to go back into their holes. The Hausa haven't called on their houseboys to come out.

It is not about being afraid. They want to be together. Even the elders of Igbo such Azikwe, Ironsi wanted a Unified country. It is for your own information that prior to independence, the Northern Nigeria wanted a separate country but were persuaded to remain part of this nation.

The south sudan, fought for more than 20 years. And in the case of south sudan, it was occupation by the Arab.

But in the case of the Igbos in Nigeria, nobody is occupying you.

Anyway, keep going with your fantasy. You aint going nowhere.

Now that you have Goodluck as President, let us see what difference will he make.
And that is the problem with the Old Igbo leadership. Nnamdi Azikiwe was an idealist and a nationalist who supported One Nigeria. If the tribalist Obafemi Awolowo had allowed Nnamdi Azikiwe to become Premier of the Western Region, we would not have this problem. Yes, the Ndi Igbo used to support One Nigeria until Nigeria turned its back on us and slaughtered us.

If you are not an Igbo, then you cannot speak for Igbo affairs. Do you actually think the Ndi Igbo have forgot about Biafra. We want to opt out of this union. Yes, we fought a war and lost, but the sentiment still remains the same.

And Igboland is occupied by FG troops. Just like Southern Sudan. If we are truly a federation, then a people should be able to opt out of this union.

Like I said before, it is all about OIL OIL OIL

The glue that keeps Naija together.

Ezeuche wants a referendum for his household. People are busy and getting fully embedded in the political
process. He is just a cry baby. Ignore him.

Oya, cast your vote,Ezeuche but are other people going with you,? NO.

Abeg coolu temper. wink wink wink wink wink
Have you been to Alaigbo? Do not talk about thing you know nothing about. The MAJORITY of the Ndi Igbo support having their own nation state.

So put it to referendum? Let see how many people support "One Nigeria." Oil is the glue that keeps Nigeria together.

Take it now. Never saw your likes in Massob garb,
Where is your liver?
I am a proud supporter of MASSOB. And any organization that agitates for the disintegration of Nigeria. Even the Oodua Peoples Congress has my support.

See some people are still delusional about One Nigeria.

Most Igbos support having their own state. It is just the weak Yoruba who are afraid of the Hausa that are afraid to leave the nation.

I forget to add that: so you belief your gods - America will disintegrate Nigeria. Look my friend the era of countries disintegrating to satisfy the curiosity of some few theorist has not come yet. You cannot build a house in Abuja or Lagos, buy a laptop and be punching crazy fantasies just because your gods say something and you expect it to happen.

If you want Nigeria to break up, take a look at history. Countries do not just break up without a fighting for it.

If you want Nigeria to break, get your fat backside off the chair and get AK.
Have you heard of a country called Czechoslovakia? This used be a nation, but now it is the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Why can't nation's peacefully disentigrate? I thought we are civilized?

Put it to a referendum just like Sudan is doing. What are you afraid of? That the oil money will dry up? Igbos have no need for oil.

I am not a history revisionist and but I don't understand what you mean by the government of Nigeria have not apologised. What do you want? The government should print placards and place them in every town and village to apologise for something that have been apologised for and that government took a strong effort to reintegrate the society.

Have you forgotten that Ojukwu was reinstated into Nigerian army and his full pension and benefits were given to him.

why do you people belief that the civil war is because the North is Muslims and the South are Christains. In AFrican countries there are numerous countries have had civil wars and clearly they have nothing to do with religious difference.
The only payment I want is for the entire East to have its independence. Give us a referendum! I bet you that most people in the East would opt out of this federation just like the people of Southern Sudan are about to do.

Afam:
My point is that we should be specific when accusing anyone and stop generalizing as it is wrong. Accusing or insulting a tribe or religion based on the actions of a few is totally wrong and unacceptable.
How specific can we be? If the majority of the people who committed these atrocities were Hausa, then we should say they are Hausa. I will call a spade a spade. The actions of a 'few' do sometimes reflect the people as a whole.

It only takes a 'few' to paint a paper that is white, into a paper that is black. If I read my Bible, I see that God punished an entire group of people for the actions of a few.

Afam:
Comments that are insulting to a religion practiced by many Nigerians are not only wrong but leads to unnecessary hatred. We don't need this.

Islam cannot be the source of our problem just as Christianity cannot as we have quite a good number of good and bad people practicing these religions.

We should learn to base our discussions on facts, logic and common sense and do away with those things that create bad blood and spread hatred.
Of course religion is not the problem. It is the people who practice the religion that is the problem. Like I stated, I have no problems with Yoruba Muslims since the appear to be the moderates among the bunch. My problem is with the feudalistic Hausa-Fulani, who use Islam to declare war on their neighbors. This is what I abhor since the Prophet Mohammed did not preach violence against non-believers.

This is just a sheer fantasy. How do you expect people like to sit down and be fantasizing on how to split Nigeria and where the prospective boundries will be.

I do not know all your grievances with the Northern people but I do know that one of them is religious difference. That is what made up your fantasy of deviding the country along religious lines.

I don't know what part of the country you live, but I know your fantasy is just a dream. Just 3 years agon, we had a President from the south, who after few years, started thinking of making himself an Emperor of Nigeria. Most people lay the blame of their misfortunes on the door step of the Hausa man. And Providence will proof to us that the people in the NOrthern region cannot be hold responsible for the misfortunes of other part of the country.
A dream? Nigeria will break-up before 2015 as the Americans predicted. The amalgamation we call Nigeria does not work. I rather have a small car that works than a big car that does not work.

And you have the audacity to wonder what grievances with the Northern people are? Have you heard of Biafra? Hmmmm,  When my people were slaughtered like cattle? The scars can be still seen in the people who fought for freedom. The same nation that never apologized for the attrocites committed against innocent Biafrans.

I pray for the day that Nigeria breaks up!!! angry We Igbos do not want to be part of this union. Let us vote so we can get out of the 'federation.'

For every single corrupt Nigerian politician, there should be bullet place in their head.

Do it the Chinese way!!! If you are corrupt, then you die. It is as simple as that. Jerry Rawlings did a lot of good things for Ghana, that is why we need a Jerry Rawlings type in power.

EzeUche,

Can you propose a possible split? That is, which states should be in Arewa Republic (North) and which should be in Biaduwa Republic (South)?

Please note that my friend Kogi friends don't like the idea of being classified as "North". Thanks.
I would not consider Kogi state part of the "north" as well.

Any state above Kwara State and Benue State should be considered the north. Now I know that the inhabitants of Niger State and Plateau State would not be too happy, but we should cede that to the Arewa Republic for the greater good, because the Hausa that live in those states would not let those states go.

I find nothing wrong with this thread.  cheesy

Now we just need a clean split between the north and the south. I do not mind forming a nation with the Yoruba, if they so choose. In addition, I see nothing wrong with Yoruba Muslims, they are quite moderate.

The problem lies with the Hausa-Fulani Muslims. There thirst for Jihad and Islamicization (sp) of Nigeria is what keeps me awake at night.
