Mmamaroon: Looking at the NOC structure I don't think NOCs starting with 4 would typically not be working in a bank .....looks more like a public policy role.Check 6235 and any others that may be a better fit. In the description of the NOC they typically tell us where people with the NOC are likely to work.
In general, each NOC has several duties listed as bullet points. Number these bullet points from 1 to 10 or wherever it stops and then put the appropriate number beside your JD duties and repost. This way we should be able to see if most of the duties have been covered....or not. I don't know a better way.
#PersonalOpinion Welcome back Mamaroon! :-):-) |

Jideks: Please I need to ask a question.
When did you start understanding French (listening)?
I've been self learning for the past 3weeks, I actually did french in secondary school and wrote in Waec, so I'm on A2 level.
The issue is that I've been listening to Frenchpod 101listening exercises on youtube and I'm yet to grasp the listening part even the ones for absolute beginners
Its discouraging! Please someone should encourage me and tell me how much longer it will take to grasp listening.
Elders please come and help me oh, @Mamaroon, @etrange @bellerin @nj please even those I didn't mention I understand how you feel. Be encouraged. This is very normal and will ease away with time and persistence. Struggles with listening come from largely 2 areas: 1. Insufficient vocabulary 2. Unfamiliarity with pace/pronunciation. For Frenchpod, I recommend listening first, then read the dialog, then listen while reading, then listen w/o the dialogue. |

Eli1: I am writing the TEF exam tomorrow morning. Franchement, i’m quite frightened as I have only been learning French for only 7 months.
Anyway i’ll be posting the questions passed after the exam.
A question for those who have done the exam in the past please, does the EO test come immediately after the other tests? All the best! |

robify01: Will learning French now be an advantage for one intending to live in Canada? Where can I learn French? Well, Canada is a bilingual country. A lot of jobs require bilingual competencies or outright say "Knowledge of French is an advantage". For people looking for additional points, a whopping 74 points are up for grabs. Some PNPs like OINP, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia actively seek French speaking candidates. Alliance Francais, IEF, online vendors, Self study are some options. Begin your French journey today. |

Mamaroon: My reading of the details below is that yes, those recently issued PPR (post March 18 peeps) can proceed if they:- * currently live in the US and are planning to go and settle (no soft landing) or * live outside the US, they are immediate family members (spouse or common-law partner, dependent child, dependent child of a dependent child, parent or step-parent, guardian or tutor) of a Canadian citizen/PR.
Rumour has it that others have made it through, not sure how. It's all a bit confusing, maybe it depends on how strict your departing country's immigration is, perhaps they will not turn away anyone who actually arrives in Canada if you have a valid COPR. No personal knowledge of a post March 18 COPR. [/i] Very spot on Mamaroon. At least 5 persons in the COPR group i'm in have travelled from Nigeria post March 18. The most recent being yesterday. |

Nicholas2296: Does anyone knows how reliable the local mailing of $7 on the WES payment page compared to the $85. If you have any experience using it pls how reliable is it? Local mailing is reliable. You won't even need it - a soft copy of your evaluation will be issued and that's all that's required. |

Chriswazo: Alright bro. I am currently using my frenchpod and I want to combine it with my language starting Monday.
How reliable is this Tobidam am always hearing here? I just went through their site and they say they will get you to B2 in 5 months. That's remarkable, I want to ask if you know them well? If they are good as reported here, I might add them to supplement my learning. Man! Frenchpod is an excellent resource. All the best as you start on Monday - remember you can only make progress with daily consistency. As far as Tobidam, I don't know very much besides what I read here. S/he seems to have some very committed students/staff who do some marketing (sometimes OTT) for the brand (worldtaker, donpaper, goodnigga, chigrad, purposedriven26 amongst others). There may be some good value there but I don't have all the information. I'd say focus on your current course and then in the future, weigh the options available to you and take a call. |

bankolejohn: Hello fam, Thanks to every contributor.
Pls I am new here. My wife is the principal applicant. Can I take TEF boost our chances? Or is it only the PA that can?
Thanks From the simulation on the CRS tool, there wasn't an additional option for language proficiency for spouse. It would appear the TEF points boost is only applicable to principal applicants. |
