Passed my TEF yesterday in the UK.

CO - C1

Missed opportunity as I messed up a long question. I am still angry as I knew exactly where I missed 4 questions. The fifth question I failed was I mixed up library and biblioteque in the part C. So I know the 5 I missed. It could have been 7 in the end. I feel like punching my head. That is where I screwed up and I knew it, otherwise the homophones section was a breeze 10/10 sure.

All new questions.

Don't be too hard on yourself...at least you 've got at the minimum CLB 8.

Generally, the maximim CRS with a BSc is 441 with maximum IELTS (w/o siblings, French or extra credential)

33 means losing 20 points.

so 444 is highly unlikely

for sample questions, Just type ccip tef candidate manual in a Google search. Look through this thread for some test day experiences too.

Similarities to IELTS:

1. 4 competency areas LWRS
2. Need to get a 7 in writing just like IELTS.
3. 2 writing tasks in EE
4. Mostly objective based questions.

hi all, much thanks for this thread, really helping a lot of us. Quick question, i started learning french around february this year but stopped lessons after 2 months. I'll rate myself at the A1 level. Can i read on my own and write TEF/TCF in four months? Also which months are the exams held? Someone should kindly answer. Thanks.

At A1, 4 months appears too early for bonus-level points.

If you're targeting only a few points, then oui.

Exams are held all year round in at AF and IF centers countrywide - Abuja, Lagos, PH, Ibadan and Enugu. Each centre has their schedule. Contact then directly to schedule one.

check out italki. There are lots of native speakers, teachers as well as TEF examiners who offer lessons for various rates.

hmm, for your info, some of us here are his students already. I know French from high school, but to write TEF/TCF one needs better prep. 110 or 160k ain't small money. Only u know what u are saying.

I understand what you have just said and if you read my post, I am also recommending people use tutors if they can afford it. What would be a shame is if people are making up stories about their French difficulties or overestimating their progress in a bid to recommend a tutor. This clearly doesn't apply to you guys but weird things happen...Cheers!

You'll find DanMisla's story about using the TEF as first language choice on page 25. Etrange scores were also highlighted on page 14.

Eh ya doh. I struggled learning alone too o. I thought I could do it myself, I just wasted my time. Later, I contacted the tutor@ www.tobidam.com. And bam!! I am now in love with the language. I had that problem too sha. But my tutor used an arithmetic expression to solve the problem. Imagine arithmetics in French!!! I think I can say any number and even date off hand now. I am still undergoing training sha. So, I will recommend the same tutor. Contact him & confirm yourself. His details can be found on the down part of the homepage.

Language learning is tough guys! you need a lot of work on your own as well as any other means of help you can get( including tutors if you can afford it) Don't expect everything to be solved by a tutor. Take everything with a pinch of salt and be strategic. Blessings!

I always forget to come here. But I have learned a few things from this thread every time I take a look.

Finally registered for TEF after shifting the dates like 3 times from April to July to September. I was going to even shift to November cos I always felt I'm not ready. I'm off to Lome on Monday for two weeks before the exams on 26th. I should write TCF to in between.

Yep! New scoring structure....For expression ecrite, CLB7 starts at 64% (450/699) no longer 68% (310/450)
