You are giving these guys too much money. Once is enough.

Try the provinces. I do not see the wisdom in spending so much. That is my advice anyway.

Save your money.
Yo...I think it comes down to how badly people want what they want. Don't you think it's fair game if they can afford it?

Sure, people need some guidance how best to maximise their options. TEF/TCF is a real option for alot of people with reasonable French proficiency and I don't think anyone should feel bad for multiple attempts.

CE: 187 I need 207 minimum
CO: 225 I need 249 minimum
EE: 295 I need 310 minimum
EO: 298 I need 310 minimum

Right now I had all B2 CLB 6

Trying to decide to register for dec TCF or November TEF! I just don’t know if I can do this TEF again and actually do better! Trying not to be pessimistic but just so scared.. sigh!

I have to write IELTS again to try to max out. Actually have L:8 R:8.5 W:7 S:7.5 my first attempt.

I want to register to try to max out all domains..
I understand where you are. It appears you have a reasonable french level so you'd be fine for the TCF if you choose that route.

The more time you have to prepare, the more confident you'll be and better the performances will be. December leaves you with good time to prepare. Do you have access to TCF resources?
TravelRe: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by Fabguen: 11:48am On Oct 30, 2019
Igethope:
Hopefully! I’m thinking of writing again. But I’m thinking should I do TCF or TEF?
They both have their merits and demerits.

If you want to see your results quicker, then TCF. They promise 15 days.

TCF is also renowned to have an "easier" EE however, few people here have TCF experience but then all might need is to get familiar with the format.

How far away were you for TEF? what sections need work? If you are close, it might make sense to retake it because they always repeat questions.

CO (Listening): 225/360 - b2
EE (Writing): 295450 - b2
EO (Speaking): 298/450 - b2

How many points will this add to express entry
Well done! Courage...let's see what the next draw brings. who knows! 457 at some point might be possible this year

Really? Interesting stuff.
To clarify, it's very possible to get 470+ with max IELTS and at least a CLB 7 TEF.

But if you have already maxed out IELTS like Framaro has, you can't get a 470+ score without a CLB 7 TEF (Except if you have a Masters, sibling points, or canadian education)

Worldtaker:
I don't know if you wanna try IELTS again, but if you can max it with this scores, you're already post 470 CRS. If not you can try TEF one more time. If I may ask, what was your proficiency level before attempting TEF?
I'm afraid it is nearly impossible to get a 470 with this combination - even with a maximum IELTS - given the other factors are constant.

Hello fam,so after careful research and calls placed to 3 different tutors...
IEF in Yaba was the cheapest with 20k per month 9am -1pm
while AF ikeja 63k (9am-1pm) for 6weeks and 34k per month..
and tobidam 5k per hour.

Gurus in the house my questions is who has had an experience of IEF and successfully passed? Also which is the best option...please help don't ignore. I intend registering with one on Monday
God bless you all
IEF has publicly disclosed 1 candidate with screenshots earlier in the thread (the person also did immersion programs in Cotonou as well).

AF is well...AF and they appear to be the leader in French tuition - is it 34k or 63k?

I haven't seen any positive feedback from tobidam yet in terms of TEF test experience.

Who gets to mark the exam? The guys in the school? I think it is subjective then just like IELTS.
Only EO is graded locally and passed through quality reviews in France.

The rest is graded in France.

Mamaroon:
The recent comments have been interesting to read.

Timelines for learning French to attain high enough marks (PS: the aim is actually CLB7 NOT B2) in TEF and similar questions have been discussed time and again. Pls take time to read this very short thread..

#RamblingsOfACandidate
Well said Mamaroon. This is such great advice.

It is important that people mix up their approach to taking the TEF. it's two-fold really:
1. Developing the minimum required/sufficient french proficiency.
2. Find out how to pass the exam

my recommendations for finding a tutor:
1. Take everything said with a pinch of salt
2. Find out if they're specialised. Are they tutoring German, Chinese, Luxembourgish as well? (possible warning signs; a maximum of 2 is ideal)
3. Do they have test experience or have they tutored a TEF student before?
4. Is there a demonstrable track record?
5. Are they integrating real test scenarios in their approach?

My suggestions for tutors:
1. Italki (look out for TEF examiners, tutors and/or native speakers.
2. Yourself (you can achieve quite a lot on your own - with the right guidance. Just to illustrate what's possible, I know someone who passed the DALF C1 exam exclusively via self study)
3. Any tutor you find peace with after conducting your own due diligence.

Passing the exam:
1. Read this thread as well as the official CCIP TEF facebook group
2. Know what to expect, prepare your answers
3. Review all past questions.
4. See #1.

Yeah. I saw the raw scores from the certificate. The guy had a C2 in speaking as well cannot remember the score but it was outrageous. Almost as if the marker took a couple of points by force. LOL.

He did not need IELTS for other reasons though.
Madness! Lol...quite incredible.

Hello guys, please I need help

I have maxed out my ielts with a band 8, 25 years old with a masters degree but my CRS score sits at 453 because I only have one year work experience.

Please what do I do.
I’m getting sick with worry. cry cry cry
You have a healthy profile. One alternative is to taken the TEF exam (6 months to 1 year prep) worth at least 42 points. You can also apply directly to some provinces for a PNP nomination - that's if you don't directly get a nomination soon.

You hit the nail squarely and spot on. Perfectly put.

If you speak some French, hustle the writing and revise past questions. You will smash.

I saw one result 450/450 in writing - The guy smashed the rest. North African guy.

I was extra impressed.
450! shocked shocked

I feel a French speaker has a better chance of smashing the TEF language exam than an English speaker of smashing the IELTS.
Feels that way. even with a B1, a test taker can "program" responses. There are also plenty of recycled questions compared to IELTS.

No WhatsApp groups for me. Target the story story exams...law, corporate governance & the economics one. The accounting ones need some extra focus because the material is weird...but doable.

Lol. Everyone has written IELTS. It's arguably easier given you're a native speaker (I assume)

For resources, you'll find free useful stuff on vk.com... just do a site search and use "IELTS".
