Please can you help me with this? I havebeen trying to book an appointment but to no avail

Please can you help me with tips on how to get an appointment date for schengen visa? Please i need help with it

German marriage certificate? Haven't heard of that having any impact on the process though, thought people translate their certificates when they get to Germany? Besides, the lawyers do not ask for bribe when they come for verification. You only give them a token as appreciation if you feel like it. They don't ask you for it, atleast, they didn't ask me or anyone i know.

Secondly My husband is at the verge of hiring a Lawyer from Germany to help fasten the process of me getting my Visa (how possible is this with the help of a Lawyer)and also just in case we encounter any trouble especially from some Nigerian Lawyers who ask for bribe during verification . Please what do you all think about this?

Yes. A sister was allowed to bring in essentials for her baby. Plead with them.

You don't need to plead with them. They will ask you to take the essentials themselves

They did. The affidavit will be sworn to by a parent stating that you haven't been previously married nor divorced until you married your spouse on so so so date

Documents verification for my child was successful today as confirmed by d embassy. To God alone be all the Glory!!!!!!!

I replied your mail. Yes i have and they sent me a mail with a link that i should apply for a german passport for him since his father is a citizen and then send them a mail containing the reference number,Nigerian passport number with that they will book an appointment for me and send me an invitation

My Timeline. . *Booked on January 17th 2020 *We went for interview on March 11th 2021 *Mail from the embassy on 17th march for my 2 sons to submit c1 German language certificate *Hubby hired immigration lawyer who wrote them on 25th march *April 9th Embassy waved c1 *Reason hubby is a citizen and the children did not need any requirement till they are 18yrs. *verification done on May 6th *verification completed mail June 6th and I was asked to re-do declaration of age and do change of name. *July 13th hubby received mail from foreign office for visa approval. *July 14th mail from Lagos to submit insurance, passports and date
*I submitted them on July 26th and
*July 30th our passports with visa stamp and our documents returned.

Lessons Learnt pray and put your trust in God. Cos when we applied and found out that my boys will need c1 certificate I was totally down cos I knew it's a big problem. Even many of German teachers told me to cancel theirs and look for other means maybe through studies and pursue only mine. Reason being that the embassy will refuse us visa if the demand is not met .I almost yielded but my children refused insisted to go for the interview first. Till the lawyer wrote them I never knew that it was not needed according to their law. So my beloved people I wish every one of you good luck and pray that your wait will never be in vain. Always pray pray pray and pray it works. What God cannot do does not exist. At New 80 remain blessed forever for your's and every body's contribution.

Please i have a question. The mail that the embassy sends requesting submission of Travel Insurance document and passport(for visa), do they send it only on Fridays? Because i noticed it is on Fridays most people comment that they received that email from the embassy

many of us suffer in silent here. I really pity the good hearted Nigerians. we do suffering and smiling. I remember posting a lot of things here when i was in your shoes and no one cared and people that I messaged did not even reply me. Thank God my family is with me now. I fought the fight with God and won.

my advise to you is that you should never travel without your baby. write them asap and tell them about your newborn. that will even expedite the process of your newborn. They will not do verification for your newborn. They will only request for the passport and birth certificate. I believe when you went for interview, they knew you were pregnant?. furthermore, Embassy read every email you send them but they are not obliged to reply you. by law, email is not German form of communication. write them the convectional way ( by post). If you do not get reply. write to their head quarters in berlin ( 509-visa@zentrale.auswaertiges-amt.de). they will reply you and send the email to Lagos on your behalf.

Finally, do not relent. as long as you do not forge any of your documents. They are by law obliged to honor your application. They can only delay it but never forever.

Those of you that hoard information. continue and those of you that are good, please keep being good. God has a way of rewarding you in one way or the other.

No i haven't. Still contemplating if i should send my passport, travel insurance and date of departure that they asked me to send before i write them that i put to bed while waiting for my visa. As it stands now I'm even confused, someone told me this evening that if i do not travel that i might have to start the whole family reunion process from the beginning. I'm tired

I think it's better when you receive your visa, its even stated in their site.
For someone who has gotten to this stage its just a matter of days or weeks, it won't hurt to have a little more patience.

Please help me out here. when the embassy asks that you send your passport, travel insurance and travel date. Is it advisable to book your flight too or wait until the date is approved? Thanks in advance

dear Fabulousaify, I am actually in the same situation as you are right now. I put to birth last year October, my husband booked an appointment for passport application for my son since he's a citizen, I went for the interview in December, the lawyer came for verification of the birth certificate in April and since den I haven't heard anything. it's really a trying tmy for me because taking care of a child alone isn't easy on me and for a first tmy mum is very hard.

I'm done with the visa process. Just waiting for them to ask me to send the health insurance,passport and travel date.

Have you gotten appointment or gone for interview? If not, you don't need to book a separate appointment for the baby. But you have to contact the embassy to hear from them.

My Timeline

Sept 19, 2019....booked for family reunion appointment.
Sept 1, 2020....went for interview.

October 2020, spouse recieved mail to send documents in Germany.

Nov 2020..... submitted documents.

Dec 2020...recieved a rejection letter due to low funds (I av a wife who travelled with student visa and 2kids).

Dec 2020... I wrote/submitted remonstration(appeal) to German Consulate, Lagos.

Dec 2020, we employed a German Immigration Lawyer to help out (not free).

Jan 2021 ... no info

Feb 2021..info came for my wife to submit some docs, parts of which had been earlier submitted.

March 2021, Request to put some money in a blocked account just like a student does. (Over €10k)

April 2021, Request for my wife to put money in another blocked account (more than what I blocked) which will cater for her and the two kids for a year...

May 2021... Visa Approval from Immigration Office in Germany

June 2021... Visa cleaeance recieved at German Consulate Lagos,

June 2021...to submit Insurance/passport

June 2021...Visa Call

3 days later...Visa recieved thru courier.

4 days later, landed in Germany.

Prayer! Prayers!! Prayers!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, if you or your spouse have. I ticked yes because my husband has. About filling form online. I didn't do anything of that sort

What they are asking for is your international passport and your travel health insurance, if you have already sent this documents to them, write them and inform them about the date you dropped it off either by yourself or by courier, provide them with the name of who received it and delivery date.

Yes. That was about 36 or 38k at the time, can't remember. However, they refunded it back to me because my husband is a German Citizen

They mailed me yesterday that they were done with the verification but I'm required to submit a new certificate and also another affidavit of spinsterhood
