Ebuehi can never bench Shehu, take that to the bank. Joel is not going to the world cup. Ogu is too damn slowww. Echiejile needs to be given another chance cos Idowu is too ordinary. Without Injury prone balogun we are in trouble at the back. Ekong and Awaziem cannot give a simple pass. Positives; Onazi and ndidi were fantastic today. |

Rohr really disappointed me today. For good 75mins of a friendly match you made just one substitution. Really ridiculous. I am highly disappointed. What's he afraid of!!! So after 2-0 he now knows there are players on the bench. Nonsensical |

remove Joel for ogu, musa for ighalo, iwobi for simon, onazi for agbo. We need height in the middle and attack |

I was just trying out various midfield combinations if Mikel/any of the midfieders is unavailable MetalJigsaw: Nice writeup. But all your midfield combos are better off with Mikel included. He's simply irreplaceable at the moment.
The aformentioned combos without Mikel only look good on paper |

Our midfield was not poor up till the time Joel was substituted. We coped very well to the extent that lewandoski was removed for an additional midfielder. Then they began to kick Joel and vicmo. When onazi came on the midfield was shattered until when ogu was introduced. Go rewatch the match bro. Joel, onazi and ndidi should have started. Nacho left a big gap in the midfield by pressing high up the field side by side with Ighalo instead of staying behind him in the number 10 spot. mank1234: You're right. My choice of words were wrong. Wanted to point out that it wasn't until Onazi came in that it collapsed. Right from the start of the game our midfield was poor. |

This is Nigerian team has a making of a champion. First half we were in the heart of their defence, 1st ighalo shot that went way over the bar, then ighalo shot that was blocked and nacho cldnt control in the 6yard box. Then iwobis dummy dribble, then ighalos. We matched them in the midfield with just two midfields. Joel fought, ndidi fought like a tiger. Nacho hussled, ighalo persevered. Whenever we break on the counter they hack us down. In a world cup game, the poles will receive nothing less than 2 red cards yesterday. Immediately Onazi came in for Joel our midfield collapse and Ogu was brought in to stabilize things, which he did and we had some few chances to kill the game. The only mistake Joel made was shooting on goal instead of releasing a free striker on the counter. I look in awe a midfield combo of Joel, Mikel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and etebo. Mikel, ndidi and onazi. Ogu, joel and etebo. Ogu, joel and ndidi. Joel, onazi and ndidi. On Tuesday, start ndidi, ogu and onazi bring Joel in the second half and see. These team will shock the world mark this space. @ tbaba 1234, I sight you bro. |

I got to see a prediction of the outcome of our friendly with Poland on 101great goals site. Poland 3 nig 1. What interest me most is our assumed formation. Ezenwa Aina, balogun, ekong, shehu Ndidi, ogu Moses, musa (10), iwobi Iheanacho. Will this team loss to poland? If yes, what are the changes needed to this team list. To the great gentlemen and beautiful ladies in the house. |

I had said it before, I am still saying it again Etebo gat a place in that midfield fabyom: Awaziem pass to kelechi and musa for both iwobi goals were sublime. I have the match on my phone I watch it everyday. Mind you ogu is too slow. Mikel obi and ogu must never play together for Nigeria. Rohr should try etebo, ndidi and Mikel that's our best bet. Etebo was king against Algeria in the first leg. |

Note: This thread's title will be modified as soon as the host(s) for the 2019 edition is confirmed and revealed by FIFA.
Now, as promised, I present to you the 2019 Edition of the Nigerian U-17 Golden Eaglets Thread. It promises to be a fine ride as this team is more than likely to be headlined by the combo of Manu Garba's Undoubted coaching, talents-spotting & nurturing skills AND Lateef Omidiji Jnr's bow for Nigeria. Much have been said and reported on and seen of Lateef's undoubted talents and as one eligible to feature in the 2019 Fifa U-17 WC, he is expected to make his choice from among three nations battling for his allegiance. The nations are U.S.A, The Netherlands and of course, Nigeria. Of these three, there are very very very strong indications that he has picked Nigeria same as his sister Sophia (a Super falcons prospect/hopeful). Lateef Omidiji Jnr is very likely to be the face of this team if all goes according to plan and in combination with the undoubted rare jewels Manu Garba's scouting network shall unravel, I expect this U-17 team to be another true force that will grow into another fine generation of Nigerian footballers with huge potentials for tomorrow.
Let the U-17 party begin.... Come one, come all... welcome... |
