depending on the site condition... if you have trees and heavy bushes then clearance using a grader will be the best and the cheapest for you sir
No. Virtually no trees just few plants an grass
PropertiesRe: Proper Analysis Of Design And Cost Of A Foundation Design For Bungalows by fairheven: 4:35pm On May 24, 2015
abdulwastecx:
I will start here explaining each of the steps listed below with simple arithmetic calculations of equilibrium, cost and with pictorial view of work done in the past.

What is site clearance: in a simple language, it is the removal of bushes, trees, and all other unwanted structures or material on site. materials such as site dump, unwanted sand or gravel etc. It also involved the removal of top vegetable soil of at least 150mm deep into the ground in other to allow for work to be done a solid surface.

How can site clearance be done:
There are two ways in which it can be done, namely;
1. Mechanical ways
2. Manually

1. mechanically: by using a grader to remove this unwanted site materials. This method is faster and cost effective over a large area of building land. I mostly recommend this type clearance for a big to medium project of 1 plot ( 50' x 100 or 15m x 30m) and above.
Most client are scared to use this method because of the perceived cost implication but in reality it offers more values for money because of the following advantages.

1. It offers wider coverage of work over a shot period of time.
2. It help to grade site uniformly, make access road to site and help to get rid of vegetable soil of 150mm above ground level.
3. Condemned soil from top soil removal can further be used to filled the foundation where laterite or other feeling materials are expensive.

Cost implication:
It cost about N60,000 - N80,000 to get a grader in Port harcourt
it cost about N30,000 - N 50,000 to get the vehicle that will bring it to site.
fuel cost of about N20,000
Total of = N110,000 ( minimun)
Total of = N 150,000 ( maximum)

2. manual method: This involve the used of crude implement like cutlass, hoe, rake and shovel to remove the bushes, unwanted materials and top vegetable soil of a building construction site.
This method is cost effective over a small area of land like half a plot for a 2 bedroom or 1 bedroom flat. It is cheaper and more labour intensive than the mechanical method. it is recommended for a small building project like a two bedroom or one bedroom flat on half a plot of land.
It cost about N20,000 or less to prepared a land for two bedroom flat bungalow using this method.
Am about doing a 4bedroom bungalow in a relatively flat ground,do I still need to do mechanical clearing?

OrlandoOwoh:
With this analysis and those of Gani Fawehinmi, Tam David-West and Pat Utomi, I can't agree more. The claim by the government that it pays subsidy is a fraud. It is unfortunate some people say subsidy should be removed even if it means selling products at higher prices. Have you asked ourselves the correlation between an election year and subsidy that subsidy increases when there is an election?
Just imagine that subsidy payment increased after the famous occupy Nigeria at Ojota
The pump price was increased from 57 naira or so to 120 an after protest it cunningly an stylishly reduced to 97 naira, which simply meant that Nigerians were paying more for fuel (from the previous 57naira)an yet the subsidy skyrocketed the same year an keeps rising unabated

PoliticsRe: Distinction Between Niger Delta, South South And "Niger Delta" by fairheven: 3:38pm On May 24, 2015
barcanista:
Overtime people have used the term Niger Delta and South South interchangeably. I took my time to do extensive research and I consider it wise to share with the public.

Niger Delta
The Niger Delta is the delta of the Niger River at the Gulf of Guinea on the Atlantic Ocean in Nigeria. Historically and cartographically, the Niger Delta region consist of present day Rivers and Bayelsa states and Warri in (Delta state). These areas/states collectively is sometimes called Oil Rivers, as it was then the British Oil Rivers Protectorate established in 1884. The area was called Oil Rivers Protectorate because it was a major producer of palm oil. The area would be later part of the larger Niger Coast Protectorate after it was expanded in 1893 with Calabar as administrative office.

South South
The "South South" is an artificial geo-political zone created in 1995 by Gen Sani Abacha, and consist of Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Cross river, Akwa Ibom and Edo states. IBB had created six zones for "effective allocation of resources"

Historically, the "South South" has never been a single administrative entity. Let me explain...

Edo and Delta states
Though Warri (previously known as Delta Province) is/was part of the Niger Delta, the British in 1939 created the Western Region as a subset of Southern Nigeria and included Benin and Delta provinces in the region. The MidWest referendum of 1963 led to the creation of MidWest which included the Benin and Delta provinces from the Western Region after years/decades of agitation started by Benin Kings Oba Iweka II(in 1924) and Oba Akenzua II, Omo-Osiagie, Dennis Osadebe, Dalton Asemota, Okotie-Eboh etc and backed by super majority of Benin-Delta people. However, agitation by the "Niger-Deltans" within Bendel state for the creation of Warri State for the Niger Deltans(old Warri province), as well as call by the ANIOMAs for the Creation of ANIOMA state from the old Benin province led to the creation of Edo and Delta states in 1991.
(IBB forced Warri and ANIOMA people into one "Delta" state)

Akwa-Ibom, Cross river, Rivers and Bayelsa states
The four states were part of the Eastern Region in 1954 along with the present day 5 South Eastern States. Rivers and Bayelsa later formed "Rivers" State in 1967, while Akwa Ibom and Cross River became South Eastern state(later renamed Cross river state in 1976). Akwa Ibom state and Bayelsa state were splitted from Cross river(1987) and Rivers (1996) respectively.

Official "Niger Delta" States
President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2000 "expanded" Niger Delta to include SW Ondo state, SE Imo and Abia states , and SS Akwa Ibom, Edo and Cross river states. Thus, official Niger Delta states are the aforementioned plus the historical and cartographical Niger Delta (Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states). All 8 states are the oil producing states in Nigeria.
Actually they are nine not eight

we just need cottage refineries of at least 50. 000 barrels per day virtually in every state of the federation. Our problem is that we always focus on the big project that we end up doing nothing
Just heard on radio that JTF destroyed illegal refineries in the Niger Delta an i ask myself, if the "so called lagal ones" are not producing to optimum capacity, after years of turn around maintainence, then why don't we turn" the illegal ones" [been destroyed by JTF ] to legal?

I never liked Okonjo-iweala for one day.

This frog was stylishly imposed on us by the US government to sabotage Africa's biggest growing economy.

To complete their evil plan, they started giving her awards before hand over. When she got excited and contested for World Bank Leadership, we know the country that pulled her down.
Tell me what Okonjo-iweala did for Nigeria Economy to warrant awards from United States?

Do have any idea that her children are all in US?
Its a mindset of mediocrity especially from African countries to belief that "a tailor made "economic programme from world bank would impact their various economies;we don't need an expatriate from word bank or IMF to solve our problems, most of them are totally aloof to our local realities besides, word bank and IMF have never done any country good ,going by their track records

You site your business closest to your market to take out the cost of transportation and also to be close to then so as to get first hand feedback.

Does the East have the market to sell the business and services they provide to? That is the deciding factor.

If everyone moves back to the east, you will have a cluster and no one to buy them so it is not good.
The IBO nation is bigger than some independent African nations ,so I don't see why we can't accommodate any investment
