Michigan couple with 12 sons is expecting baby No. 13, and even though they're sticking to their tradition of not finding out in advance whether they're having a boy or girl, they said they'd be shocked if their streak is broken.

Jay and Kateri Schwandt's baby is due May 9, The Grand Rapids Press reported (http:///1wLt00x ). Even though they expect it will be another boy, the couple said they would welcome either into the family.

"If we were to have a girl, I think we would go into shock," Kateri Schwandt said. "It would probably be disbelief."

If he had a choice, Jay Schwandt said he would love to have a girl, but they're just "hoping for a healthy baby." Still, he would like to see the effect of adding a girl to the mix in a household with 12 boys.

"I've experienced all the boy stuff," he said. "As long as we are having all these children, it would be really neat to experience the other side."

The couple welcomed their twelfth son, Tucker, to the world on Aug. 4, 2013. Their oldest son is now 22 years old.

"The stuff that goes on in this house is all-boy — roughhousing and wrestling," Jay Schwandt said. "If there was a little girl in there, I assume it would be different."

Kateri Schwandt, after being the sole female in the family for more than two decades, said she would lean toward having one more boy.

"A little girl would be neat to have in the house, but a little boy kind of takes the pressure off," she said. "We know what we are doing. Why change things up?"

The Schwandts, who live Rockford, which is north of Grand Rapids, consider themselves devout Roman Catholics and don't believe in using birth control. Kateri Schwandt comes from a family of 14 kids. She said she is feeling well.

Do you know that during the 60s we were once at par or better than the present day Asian Tigers of Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea? Blatant and in-your-face corruption, nepotism, federal character and quota-system, decline in status of education and merit......all these maladies have brought us to where we are today! And while the Asian Tigers that were once our contemporaries have now disappeared into the horizon, leaving us for dead, we're left to splutter and cough on the dust left in their wake as we continue the slow and tortuous journey in our beaten-up jalopy, and rue the wrong choices we've made as a people!

Good point but guess what. Our terms of trade are skewed. Oyinbo get sense and we stupid. If you check, the import duty on process food is low. while the export duty on processed food is high. in other words we negotiated not to compete globally. the agreement on terms of trade don't favour Africa on exports.

But we don't even process ennof for our local demand..the best is foe us to export less raw food and instead turn them to Finnish goods for local market.

When is he going to pay the same attention to "PALM OIL"?because Wether we like it or not,crude oil will soon dry up..

Nigeria's militant Islamist group Boko Haram has forced abducted women and girls to go to the front line to help fight the military, a new report says.
The group has taken more than 500 women and girls hostage since it began its insurgency in 2009, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) report adds.
Suspected militants seized about 30 children on Thursday, despite government claims of a truce.
Boko Haram has declared a caliphate in areas it controls in the north-east.
The group had intensified abductions since May 2013, when Nigeria's government imposed a state of emergency in the three states where Boko Haram was most active - Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, HRW said.
The HRW report comes as three girls who escaped Boko Haram after being sbducted in April told their story to BBC Hausa.

The attack on the cars carrying staff of Julius Berger Nigeria, which did not have escorts, occurred on Friday, the source said. Ogun state lies just outside Nigeria's coastal commercial capital of Lagos.
