ttmacoy:You are still not addressin the points I raised..OPEC wit the help of Saudi Arabia will still cut output win win or not.oil can drop blow 30dollars the way its going an no one not even Saudi wud like to see that...an Russia retracing of their undoing in Ukraine will be a key issue to that. |
@OP,I do not in any. Way begrudge you or take likely the goodness of God,but sometimes I wonder why we turn every thin to religion. I tink to myself,if we had a visionary leadership that creates opportunities for our teeming youths to be gainfully employed without retorting to endless "waiting on the lord" even for ones daily bread,(as it is the case in advance nations)then,I ask wud we still be attributing everything to God? So,inevitably, ours is purely failure of leadership. |
alabiyemmy:That's the type of leader we desperately need not a leader like JONA who unashamedly said that" BABAngida IS MY FATHER" ..as in father of all corruption? |
Saw this on my facebook and it got me thinking..like wow! Obasanjo Speaks on Gen. Buhari: "Gen. Muhammadu Buhari isanupright man. Not many people know that his first daughter ismarried to an Igbo man from Anambra. He exempted Christiansfrom performing duty on Sundays. When his Muslim soldiersasked him to exempt them from duty on Fridays he told them thebible says Christians should rest on the 7th day, the Muslimsshouldshow him where the Koran says they should rest on Fridays. AsHead of State he slashed the number of Muslims going onpilgrimage by 50%. His driver and cook for the past 10 yearsplusare Christians yet some uninformed Nigerians say he is a bigot. It isa pity that some people failed to understand that PDPdeliberatelycapitalised on the gullibility of Nigerians to paint him black. Thistheydid in order to keep their loot and ensure that he never gets theopportunity to send them to jail. How many Nigerians would holdappointment in government as Minister of Petroleum, PTFChairmanand Head of State, yet don’t own a house in Abuja or all overNigeria. He has only one house and never kept a foreign account.Love him or hate him but you cannot take his integrity awayfromhim.” – OLUSEGUN OBASANJO. ##manofintergrity |
bushdoc9919:Shale oil is not yet a treat to conventional oil and gas industry. Belif it or not the Saudis are workin with the Americans to make western sanctions on Russian an Iran more impactful..even Iranian foreign minister recently confirmed it..wait an see,the moment the Russians stop meddling in the politics of Ukraine, the sanctions will be lifted an the saudis will cut their oil output "mark my words" The more reason Saudis don't realy care about wt happens to international oil prize..it that they have got enof external reserve,an care-less about public unrest.. About American preferring lower international oil..that is not tenable because currently the American government is producing more oil than it can consume an has more reserve than any other, now they are even thinking of export as the moratorium law on oil exports is about been repealed. |
There is a political angle to this whole bru haha that some ppl are not lookin at.. First,Saudi Arabia with serious pressure from US,has vehemently refused to cut output,so as to make effective the American an western led sanctions on Russia..because Russia's economy is overly dependent on oil and gas. Secondly,by so doing also,Iran..which happens to be a regional rival to the Saudis will also suffer economic decline..its all a game of wits an skillful manoevering |
Mee234:And wat is the crime if he decides to tend to his cow?wat has JONAthans soundness of mind brought to nigerians if not backwardness? I keep asking an none of have been able to answer...if JONAthan were to contest election as ordinary citizen without the power of incumbency,do you honestly think he can measure up to Buhari? |
That is tru of life...a "rustic Iron pipe"will always need several coatings to make it appear new,JONA an his praise singers will need to do more of "image laundering"to deceive nigerians further. |
If Buhari can't remember his fone number it simply means he is not obsessed with gadgets, that means he has better tins to do with his life, most likely he has someone wu handles his phone callz,I have seen a lot of buzy pple that do that.JONA shud get a life. |
This JONAthan sucks..wts all these name-calling? Wt is your business with Buhari phone number? You that can remember MTN,Glo and etisalat network lines combined, wat good has that done to Nigeria, apart from your clueless Leadership? Can u remember telling nigerians you will wipe out boko HARAM in six months, can you remember, telling us we have stable power in 2014? |
Change2015:What do you expect from someone who said"IBB IS MY FATHER"?...anyone who has babangida as a father corruption begets corruption naa. |
Buhari did not buy a single riffle,we have heard, and you have been in power for almost six years now,you bought all the fighter jets, armored carriers,AK/47,missile launchers, atomic bomb an all that, but what has become of nigeria's millitary even at that, our soldiers running from BOKO HARAM?abandoning there bases?senior officers squandering budgetary allocations, poor welfare,Nigerian army losing it prestige under your clueless and uninspiring Leadership? You are a big loser...your campaign is totally without issue-based,your name-calling won't get you any sympathy. |
Zoharariel:Most of your questions and these in particular,is borne out of myopic reasoning and deep hatred for the Ibo nation, ever had of the suez canal?that is man-made sea-port,Switzerland is landlocked country, but in your widest imagination, can you compare Nigeria's economy with that of Switzerland?that simply tells you that the problem of not having a seaport in the south East has nothing to with landlocked or not,its simply a failure of leadership.secondly its political gimmick..as they don't want the south east to be totally independent of the lagos port. |
Zoharariel: |
BonaVIta:There is every possibility to that..you just have to broaden your mindset..first of,we had one south eastern states before Gowon decided to split the states,so at that point how do you realy determine the true boundaries, knowing the exercise was purely politically motivated? Secondly, akwa ibo still shares boarder with with Abia state till date,so there will always be an over-lap on both sides. |
herinolah:You sounded so silly am myopic..after all the ranting you still cud not proof through your write-up,how your sister's husband realy planned to kill her You said, she went to market an saw a fellow Ijebu woman, who told her she will be killed because of her tribal mark ,an your sister belifed wat nonsense ..wat a " chicken brain she has![]() You don't categorized a whole tribe by taking a swipe at them the manner you just did,it only shows how childish you must be...my Aunty who was a medical doctor an a bread-winner in my family was murdered by her Yoruba husband in cold blood..but that still does not affect the way I feel about my yoruba folks till today,my best friend both male an female are Yoruba. You don't use an individuals action to judge a whole nation...go an learn how to talk..gudluck..cheers! |

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (AP) — The first star-studded film-award ceremony of the new year was literally something to sing about. While not an honoree himself, actor-producer Brad Pitt stole the spotlight with a sing-along for a few moments Saturday night at the annual black-tie gala for the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Pitt traveled some 100 miles east of Los Angeles to the desert town of Palm Springs, California, to introduce actor David Oyelowo, an honoree at the gala whose profile is only now on the rise stateside. Pitt is a producer of director Ava DuVernay's historical epic "Selma," in which British actor Oyelowo portrays civil-rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The festival honored Oyelowo with its Breakthrough Performance Award for an actor. In his introduction, Pitt professed his admiration for Oyelowo — both as colleague and friend — and, at one point, Pitt led the audience in a sing-along with lyrics spinning around Oyelowo's often-mispronounced last name. (It sounds like "oh-yellow-oh," by the way.) The gala, which attracts numerous locally based Academy voters who now have ballots in hand, traditionally is the first of each calendar year's award-season ceremonies, which include approximately two-dozen events significant enough to attract major movie stars between now and the Oscars, set for Feb. 22 in Hollywood. "This is the first time I am a part of (the two-month award season)," said Morton Tyldum, director of the Golden Globe-nominated drama "The Imitation Game" earlier in the evening while doing red carpet interviews. "When I saw the schedule," Tyldum continued, "I was in shock," Not so award-season veteran and Palm Springs honoree Reese Witherspoon ("Wild" , who said, "It's a great opportunity for all of us to get together and celebrate this wonderful year of film."The actress, an Oscar winner for "Walk the Line" (2005), said, "Wonderful performances, wonderful direction and producing. And I feel like it has been a real great, strong year." At points, love was in the air on the red carpet, as festival honoree Eddie Redmayme ("The Theory of Everything" posed for photographers with his new wife, public-relations executive Hannah Bagshawe, and "Imitation" star Benedict Cumberbatch, briefly stopped for a few snaps with his fiancee, theater director Sophie Hunter.Oyelowo actually did photo sessions: one with wife, actress Jessica Oyelowo, and three of their four children. The actor returned to pose for photos with DuVernay. Both Oyelowo and DuVernay are nominated for Golden Globe awards, to be handed out next weekend in Beverly Hills. "The last time I was at the Golden Globes, I was a publicist for (the movie) 'Dreamgirls,'" DuVernay recalled. "I was in a black suit on the (standing) side of the room. This time, I have an actual seat. I'm very happy about that. So I get to sit down. No matter what I wear, I won't be on my feet. So I'm very happy about that." |
And yet they can't pay civil servants their entitlement ...as part of the austerity measures, how much is he letting go or they keep telling us to tighten our belts while they keep feeding fart? |
ceo4eva:On "a private visit" with Nigerian " presidential fleet" were in the world does that happen![]() This guy keeps squandering our resources with impunity |
If the prophecy comes to past, that wuld be the fairest thing to happen to lagosians,we need a change in lagos as much as in abuja. Lagos needs to be deliverd from the grip and greed of Tinubu and Nigeria also needs to be delivered from the clueless and inept leadership of Jonathan...I don't support any party ,am only interested in the individual's ability to deliver. Am votin for Uncle JIMI he is the best that can happen to LAGOS,an am voting Buhari,he is the best for presidency. simply put,Tinubu out of lagos an JONA out of Abuja. |
And somebody in his right senses supposedly brought this to the front page ![]() NLand, And somebody in his right senses supposedly brought this to the front page![]() NLand,!!! Plz let us all rise and observe a "one minute silence" for the death of NAIRALAND May the lord of Christmas accept the repose and give us the fortitude to bear the loss. |
This ,life is a tragedy..we age too fast We learn wen we are way too old, this kind of woman will only learn wen she is 90years of age..so time still dey |
faceURfront:How can I? Wud rather not be part of any, unlike your president that is Buzy commissioning a mere 40MW power an yet Nigeria is in darkness. |
Take heart naa,he just your boyfriend an not your husband yet,we guys have very strong bond with our" niggarz",if I were the one I wud probably do same, just take heart until wen he marries ,then everything bcoms yours. |
faceURfront:10-15years to build 2000MW Is that suppose to be NASA mission to discover another planet or wat?We have been used to weak an clueless leaders who can't perform,so mediocrity an laxity is a norm, that is why its taking almost a quarter a century for our leaders to give us stable power. |
40MW Chiaiii....,that is wat a local government chairman should be doing, even without making noise about it,wat a joke!!! |
ireneony:Plagiarism ke?that is too strong a word, there is nothing new wen it comes to creative industry, there is nothing that anybody can do that someone has not done before..Wat do you now say to someone like EMINEM,who though is white but doing hard-core black rap?knowledge is transient Wat mode nine needs is not necessarily a change of style..he needs to learn the business part of "show-biz"he knows well about the "SHOW"but the "BIZ"?...hi is lacking. |
The reason for this can be attributed largely to the size of population. For example.China obviously has more pple using the internet more the US,because its population growth, but the US has a larger percentage of its citizens using the Internet. The same applies to Nigeria vs.other african countries. |
ireneony:Girle oo! You know about rap music so? because if u do ,u wudnt say that,it takes refined mind to grasp Mode 9's kind of rap. |
That is so soo poor! Wit regards to the number of industries thst are spilling-off from LAGOS...they shud be doing much more. Ogun is to lagos, wat New jersy is to New York..massive economic rob-off. |
Na today? Its well-known fact that bongo didn't give birth to any child except the "adopted" Biafran boy who is the current president. They shud take heart, they can never become our colonial territory, because our current leader is too weak that he can't even battle BOKO HARAM let's alone ruling another country by-proxy. |
