Ma, we had to give her water cos she didn't.. Even till now she neva poo.. N her mess can smell. Motherhood is not easy o.. Not finding it funny, if my hospital was close by God knows i would av been strolling there everyday with her, cos i dont undst again.

Your contact number is missed up, can't reach u
Are you saying she hasn't pee since yesterday? She mustn't poop everyday but for pee na must especially within 15 - 30 minutes after each feed. To be sure remove the diapers and observe her. If she did not pee hurriedly take her to the hospital cos she's dehydrated already. Distance shouldn't be a barrier please.

Good evening mamas in d house. I started exclusive breastfeeding ystdy, it's been 3days my baby has not poo, as if thats not enough since today till now she hasn't pee, not even a aingle time. Now my mum is saying how will she pee when we don't give her water. Pls help me, cos I dont know if all is well with her
Please give baby formula with adequate water. Dehydration isn't good for babies. I guess baby didn't get any milk at all. A newborn should pee within 15 minutes to 30 minutes after each feed. It's an indication she got enough milk. Please check your latch. Don't offer her breast when she is crying /hungry /cranky since you haven't established good breastfeeding. You can offer breast after like an hour after you have given her formula. This will help to be sure she is suckling with strength. Calm down, you are a good mom. As for the weight loss, it is normal for babies to lose weight after their first 14 days. You can start EBF even after one month once you are sure baby is latching properly and your supply is OK. I totally understand your plight cos I was there but it's a different story today. We are 5months + and on EBF. You too can make it. Bring her to the breast whenever she is not asleep. Don't time it... All the best

Hello ma’am. Sorry I’m just seeing this. All the creams prescribed by the doctors didn’t work for me. It was rather making those spots lighter than her body. I had to complain to my mum and a leaf was sent to me alongside a local cream and soap. I boil the leaf and bath her with it morning and night. She drinks from it morning and night. I also drink it as well cause she’s on EBF.I honestly didn’t ask the name of the leaf, it cleared under a week but the scars are still there. I just finished using the leaf treatment 3days ago, you can imagine how long this has lasted. I wished I had told my mum earlier, perhaps these creams from the hospital wouldn’t have done it’s own wahala. Anyways I learnt from it. How’s your baby doing now?
Good to hear your baby is fine now. Mine is fine too. I used Tetmosol soap and ude aki (dat black palm kernel oil) and it cleared up within 5 days.

Ma, about d sit bath, do u mean it's not good? Cos my mom does sit bath for me with a small kitchen chair, with hot water on my tummy n every part. Doh I told her not to use it on my cut, like she did previously, n she listened. Should her tell her to stop sit bath completely?

As for baby food.. I will definitely continue with d nan 1, cos I really feel for her, she hasn't even added since birth.

Lastly pls how long did it take u to poo, cos since I put to birth I've not gone to toilet. Is it a thing to be worried about or its a normal thing everyone with episiotomy experience?
I did not do the sitz bath. I was just washing the place as I do always while bathing. You are strong o. Mine I couldn't sit down for the hot water massage.
For the poop, I think it's after 4 days or thereabout. It was difficult as I read maybe cos I pooped on the delivery bed and my foods after birth were mainly pap, soups and tea which I took intentionally cos I dreaded the first poop after episiotomy.
I read that citrus fruits aren't good for a breastfeeding mother cos its acidity upsets the newborn stomach. I munched well on paw-paw and watermelon. You can try avocado, it's good.
All the best

Thanks for ur response ma, pls ma what I can do to av breast milk cos mine refuse to come fully, only few drops when I press it so hard
I guess you are tensed. Stress affects breastmilk production. Think less. Please don't starve the baby give her the NAN 1. She needs to eat to keep up her blood sugar. Hypoglycaemia in newborn ain't funny. Mix about one spoon of the formula in 30ml of water and give her. Give water after each feeds to avoid constipation. You might still need to be giving her formula till you have establish a good breastfeeding sessions with her.
Concerning your episiotomy, I can relate cos I can't even brush my mouth without pain, laugh nko no, cough na die. But I got better within two weeks. My hospital really advised against any sitz bath. I used warm water with dettol to wash the place. Then pat dry with soft towel. Changed my pad often. The goal is to keep the area dry always. Remember to keep your legs together while sitting to fasten the healing. Las las everything gonna be alright. Cheers

Good morning Mamas, does anyone know what could be the cause and possibly cure to this irritation on my baby’s body? I noticed it early December and I initially felt it’s the weather cause we stay in Abuja. It kept spreading and I had to complain to the doctor and she prescribed tribotan. I used it for 2 weeks and I saw no changes instead it kept spreading the more. I visited the hospital on Monday and another cream was prescribed, of which I was told to observe for 2 weeks. I’m currently using the cream but I’ll like to know if the cause could possibly be something I’m not doing right. I’ll rwall appreciate your inputs as it’s making me worry
Hello Ma'am, how are you and baby doing? Have you been able to get rid of the irritation? How did you do it cos my DD is developing it gradually. Thank you

Dear good mothers,
Good evening. I believe we are all doing fine.
kindly help me chook mouth in this report abeg.
I am 6 weeks pregnant (Last menstrual period - 6th December). I had a scan done today, though I know it is a bit early, I can't be blamed as I had been TTC since 2017, you can imagine the excitement.
To cut long story short, the scan report states thus; Cavity contains a gestational sac corresponding to 4 weeks cyesis. No fetal pole seen yet.
Suggest: Repeat scan in 2-3 weeks to reassess fetal viability.

Honestly, 2-3 weeks seems like an eternity. Has anyone gone through something similar, I need hope, I just need hope cry cry embarassed embarassed embarassed
Mamabigboy, fear not for your big boy has come to stay for good. I suggest you start progesterone tablets like duphaston being that you ttc for a while. It's going to end in praise, Shalom!

Hello everyone,
I'd like to officially register for team December, I'm sorry for being a late comer.
I've had sone really painful experience, reason for d late registration. I've had 2 prior second trimester miscarriages, thank God for another chance.
EDD is 11th of December (hoping baby comes sooner)
Sex: XY

I also have a question and I'll appreciate inputs please.
I went to the hospital yesterday to have my clerclage removed but lo and behold the doctor said they couldn't find it, after several intense and painful prodding of my cervix, he gave up. Please how possible is this? Can cercalge fall out without been aware?
Abeg make una chook mouth. Thank you.
It's possible not to find it again. Was it the same doctor that placed the cerlclage? Mine took a while before it was found, though it wasn't the same doctor that placed it. What's the next step? Is your hospital going to allow to go into labor with it? Or are you for ElCs? Are you a member of 'pregnant with cerlclage' group on Facebook? You can ask your question there and I believe you can get help.

Mamas that have been on cerclage ,please how long after cervical cerclage removal can a woman fall into labor?

@sugah, finally ready to register in your team. EDD is 9thDecember while sex is XY.
It depends on your body. Mine was removed on 37w2d. I fell into labor and gave birth on day 40 weeks. Baby will come at the right time. Safe delivery in advance

The weight is very normal to me, although there is no harm in checking if she really has nta or not, I did checked and took my DD for treatment, right now you won't recognize her anymore cos she has put on lot of weight, in all follow your heart and do what's best for your child.
Thank you so much. What were the signs you DD showed? At what age? What was the mode of treatment? What's the duration of the treatment?
Please pardon my questions.

Mama. I had the worst constipation of my life this morning never knew it would be this painful. Im regular before. I spent close to 1 hrs in toilet. My hubby was holding me as I was pushing like i wanted to give birth. Pushing wasso painful and I started feeling dizzy and weak maybe cos I hadn't eaten anything then. I was pouring water on my body constantly while hubby placed a rechargeable fan beside me at the same time. I couldn't breathe again, I had to put my fingers deep inside to pull everything out before I was relieved. Now for the past few hrs, my anus hurt I cant sit or stand. Chai I never wanted this again o. Im almost 18 weeks. Apart from water and orange, what else can I take o?
Biko don't try this again. Hemorrhoids is real o. Visit the hospital and proper medication will be given to you. Sugarcane is a good laxative and it works for me.

What you mentioned are not symptoms of nta. Her hand in a fist at 2 months is still very normal. Groaning when pooing or farting can be attributed to colic.
Thank you. I don explain to mom & mom-in-law that clenched fist is normal in a two months baby but they wouldn't believe me. Who I be to know the normal things in a newborn. I have quarrelled with my mom over allowing my baby to groan in peace when pooing but she will always attack me that I am punishing the child. Wetin I never hear under these 2 months?
Btw, what are the symptoms of nta?

Say what now? Pls let her grow in peace biko. She’s very okay. They keep their hands fisted for a while that’s the default position from womb. She’ll learn to open up as grows. It definitely won’t be fisted from about 5months old.

Groaning when pooping is also normal, she’s just figuring out which muscle to contract to make the poop come out. As long as your feeding her right, the groaning will stop too before 6months old. Infact, since she’s a girl child, pour water from a distance directly on her clit when bathing her, she’ll instinctively begin to pee and poop. Don’t stop till she’s done. This trick should work for her now she’s little.

Kindly learn and study your baby, as long as a baby is born healthy without any medical complications, that baby is bound to grow normally. There’s a wide range of NORMAL that every child follows, study your baby and find your baby’s unique NORMAL.
Thank you so much. Your points are so valid that I already know. How do I explain to them that are these NORMAL are NORMAL indeed? Being a FTM in d midst of those old wives isn't easy at all

Pls avoid listening to neighbours when it comes to health issues especially that of a baby.
Probably when going for her next immunization, ask the nurses or a doc.
For me, I see nothing to be concerned about here. You could try feeding baby more often and see if the weight improves.
Thank you so much. Yes, I do feed her often and I can see improvement but my neighbours will keep tormenting me with old wives tales. Being a FTM isn't easy

My DD of 2 months always keeps her hand in a fist. She rarely opens it wide and let it be open. Our neighbour is suggesting that my DD has might have 'nta' (in igbo). She said that 'nta' will not allow my DD to put on adequate weight. I kinda agree with the weight issue cos her birth weight was 4.3kg and her weight at 6 weeks was 5.3kg. Aside the weight issue + groaning when pooping or farting, my DD does not have any other significant issue I know.
Please sabi mamas, is there such a thing? If there is, what is the remedy? Please help me.

Hello mums, pls how can I treat episiotomy? Bcuz I have stitched it twice and it will loose.
But now pus and little blood is coming out of the place.Pls help me Mamas wey Sabi.
Avoid hot water sitz bath. Use warm water with disinfectant to wash your veejay at least twice daily. Pat dry with a soft towel.. Change your pad regularly to maintain maximum dryness there. Be conscious of sitting with legs closed, this aids the stitch to be intact. Do not stretch your legs too much/far to carry the baby from the bed.
Please handle as a matter of urgency to avoid infection. Thank you
