Jobs/Vacancies7000 Nigerian Nurses Relocate Abroad For Employment In 2021 by faith2kool(op): 5:31pm On Sep 22, 2021
No fewer than 7000 Nigerian nurses have left the country in 2021 alone seeking for greener pastures in other countries, according to records from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

The Lagos State branch of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, quoted this statistics on Wednesday, while decrying the acute shortage of nurses and midwives at the state and local government levels.

The NANNM members said they are overworked, noting that a nurse has to cover a 20 bedded ward on a shift, run 24 hours or even 48 hours shifts to attend to patients.

The Chairman of the association, Olurotimi Awojide, urged the government to recruit nurses and midwives to remedy the situation.

He stated this at a press conference tagged: “The Agonies and Pains of the Caregiver; Nurses Deserve Better”.

According to Awojide, the mass outward migration of nurses due to poor working conditions and remuneration packages has increased the burden and pressure on those still within the system.

He said the workload was currently affecting the quality of care the nurses provided and the patient’s health outcome.

“This has as well led to needless death and chronic illnesses among their members in Lagos,” he added.

He further said the primary health care level at the local government was most affected.

He regretted that government at all levels has continued to demonstrate indifference to the unfortunate development and in certain instances even encouraged it.

“We have observed that the replacement on exit policy of the State government in place is not sufficient to cater to the high level of attrition among nurses and midwives.

“The remuneration package and the high cost of living have simply made employment with the Lagos State Government uncompetitive. It is reasonably expected that with a high percentage of the GDP and economic activity in Lagos State and the pressure on the healthcare system to care for over 20 million Lagos residents, the remuneration package should reflect the burden we bear including the economic realities and the cost of living,” he said.

He noted that the state has continued to lose its experienced and well-trained nurses to both foreign labour migration and internal migration to federal hospitals within and outside the state.

“We expect Lagos State to pay higher than even the Federal Government of Nigeria considering its status.

“We are requesting that a retention allowance to incentivise nurses and midwives from exiting the service be included in the emolument packages,” he stated.

He called for the provision of living quarters for nurses and midwives within the hospital and interns, adding that their work schedule and certain peculiar vulnerabilities required accommodation arrangements within the hospital facilities or proximal to it to be provided to ease the many difficulties with trans and resolve safety issues.

CelebritiesRe: Reflecting On The Legacy Of Tupac Shakur, 25 Years After His Death by faith2kool(op): 11:23pm On Sep 13, 2021
One of the knock-on effects of Tupac’s death was that it seemed to bring the brutal reality of gang violence to the fore. Arguably, the music industry exploited and glamorised the beef between rival gangs. If not that, then the violence was certainly treated, by people who were not directly involved, with a worrying level of triviality, as if it was simply an extension of the entertainment provided by the records themselves.

Tupac’s death, however, made one thing abundantly clear: gang violence wasn’t something Shakur simply rapped about, it was a very real part of his life and he’d died in an attempt to help people realise that there was an alternative.
CelebritiesRe: Reflecting On The Legacy Of Tupac Shakur, 25 Years After His Death by faith2kool(op): 11:22pm On Sep 13, 2021
With his music, Tupac Shakur also aimed not simply to stop the gang violence which had permeated the rap scene, but to convince the people in the gangs who, at that time, were killing each other, that they could turn that violence outward and use it to fight back against the society which was oppressing them. But, as Adam Curtis describes in his documentary Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, by the mid-’90s, his optimism for the “revolution” had started to fade.

In an interview held the year before his death, Tupac said: “Now, if you do want to live a thug life and a gangster life and all that, OK, so stop being cowards and let’s have a revolution. But we don’t want to do that. Dudes just want to live a character. They want to be cartoons.”
CelebritiesRe: Reflecting On The Legacy Of Tupac Shakur, 25 Years After His Death by faith2kool(op): 11:22pm On Sep 13, 2021
His understanding of this reality shaped his political outlook and the subject matter of his music. In an interview conducted when he was still in high school, Tupac said: “you know those little things that they have for mice, where they go round the circle and there’s little blocks for it and everything? Well, society is like that. They’ll let you go as far as you want, but as soon as you start asking too many questions and you’re reading to change – boom.” Tupac decided to reawaken the fight for justice that his mother had started with the Black Panthers.

In the late ’80s, he decided to reform the movement, but, in his own words “to fit with our views. You know, less violent and more silent, you know — more knowledge.” He set out to reawaken the radicalism of the Black Panthers, using his music as his greatest tool. But, whilst his lyrics succeeded in cementing his popularity both as an artist and activist, they also made him the target of covert government investigations, political censure, and condemnation by numerous gangs.
CelebritiesRe: Reflecting On The Legacy Of Tupac Shakur, 25 Years After His Death by faith2kool(op): 11:22pm On Sep 13, 2021
After slipping in and out of consciousness, and attempting to leave his bed, Tupac was put under a medically-induced coma. In the hospital, he was visited by his partner Kikada Jones. She played Don McLean’s song ‘Vincent’ on the CD player next to Tupac’s bed, and he regained consciousness, giving Jones the opportunity to tell Shakur that she loved him before he fell back into unconsciousness for the last time.

Tupac Shakur’s death rocked the world. As well as writing some of the most poignant lyrics in modern music, he was also a political activist and outspoken critic of police brutality and institutionalised racism. In this regard, he came to be seen as a modern-day folk hero, whose songs spoke up for the marginalised and frequently brutalised black community. Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur had been a prominent member of the Black Panthers and, in Tupac’s own words, raised her son to be “the black prince of the revolution.” One of the many things Afeni taught Tupac that the world most American’s lived in was a fairyland that concealed the brutal reality of the racist power structures that controlled their lives.

After the altercation, Tupac and Knight were driving to Club 662, when, at 11pm, two police officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Bike Patrol pulled them over for playing their stereo too loudly and not having license plates. When the plates were discovered to be in the boot of Knight’s car, the party were released. They carried on driving and, soon, a car containing two women pulled up to Tupac’s new Cadillac. They had spotted the hip hop star and started calling his name, “Tupac, Tupac!”. So he hoisted himself out the skylight and invited them along to Club 662, parading himself in the open air.

Moments later, another car pulled up to Tupac’s vehicle. This time, a white Cadillac. From the back seat, the shooter rolled down the window and fired a rapid succession of shots into the car. Tupac was hit four times, with one of the bullet’s finding its way to his right lung. Knight was also injured, when a bullet ricocheted and a fragment lodged itself in his head. Tupac fell into unconsciousness, whilst Knight managed to drive himself and his fatally wounded friend to a nearby hospital, where he told Knight that he believed he was dying.

On September 7th 1996, Tupac Shakur attended a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas. When the match was over, Shakur left with his friend Suge Knight, C.E.O of West Coast Records. But as the rapper was leaving, he and his two bodyguards managed to get into a fight with Orlando Anderson in the lobby of the MGM. Anderson, was a member of the Southside Crips gang, one of the most active gangs in South L.A during the 1990s.

The previous May, Anderson and several other members of the Southside Crips had attempted to rob one of Tupac’s associates, Travon Lane. Lane had informed Tupac, who, after asking Anderson if he was in the Crips, retaliated by punching him in the face and kicking him multiple times. The brawl had to be broken up by hotel security after Knight and the rest of Tupac’s entourage waded in on the fight.

Nairaland GeneralTwo Brothers Arrest For Sleeping With Their Mother by faith2kool(op): 10:51pm On Sep 13, 2021
One Adamu Sabi Sime has been arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his biological mother.

It was learnt that Adamu’s brother also has an incestuous relation with their mother, Fati Sime, meaning both brothers sleep with their mother.

Adamu, who is an immigrant from the Republic of Benin, was arrested by the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) but his brother is said to have fled.

The spokesperson for the command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi noted that Adamu’s mother, Fati Sime, already had three children with her son, Adamu.

A statement by Afolabi said, “On Thursday, September 09, 2021, one Malam Bandele, the district head of Moshe Community in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara state, reported the incestuous act committed by one Adamu Sabi Sime and his mother, Fati Sime of the same community.

“Men from the intelligence unit and NSCDC operatives in Kaiama swung into action and the outcome of investigations established the fact that the mother (Fati) has three children for her biological son.

“The younger brother of the suspect, who was also confirmed to be sleeping with the mother, is now at large.”

According to the NSCDC, the mother and her two sons are illegal immigrants as they don’t have the necessary papers to stay in Nigeria.

“They have been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for background checks and further action,” he added.

PoliticsNigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari Says Security Agents Must Go After Bandits by faith2kool(op): 10:23pm On Sep 13, 2021
Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari says security agents must go after bandits in Northern states and kill them.

The First Lady also said her Sunday Instagram post showing the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, shedding tears during one of his sermons was about fearing God and not man.

Aisha had earlier shared a video showing Pantami crying after his reciter read a verse of the Holy Quran.

“That is the Garden we shall give as their own to those of Our servants who were devout,” read the reciter from Surah Maryam, Verse 63.

In response, Pantami sobbed, “O Allah! Make me one of them. O Allah! Make me one of them!”

Clarifying why she posted the video in another post on Instagram on Monday, the First Lady said in Hausa, “Tafsir na Malam kan tsoron Allah ba tsoron mutum ba! Da aka cire tsoro da son Kai aka shiga Jihar Zamfara, abubuwa sun fara kyau. Sai a dage a shigo sauran wurare da ke bukatan haka. which can be interpreted as”, which can be interpreted as “Malam’s Tafsir was a about fearing God and not man! When fear and selfishness were removed and Zamfara State was entered, things started to go well. We need to move on to other areas that need it.”

Her post is coming amidst heightened offensive by the military in Zamfara state.

Many of the bandits’ leaders and their foot soldiers were said to have been killed since the blockage of communication and restriction of movement in the state.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had last week mandated all telecommunication operators in the country to stop extending services to Zamfara and its environs, effective Friday, September 3, 2021.

When they first met back in 2012 Quran was just 15, working at a fast-food restaurant run by Cheryl’s son, Chris. They did not become romantically involved until last year when Quran was 23.

Quran said after the wedding: “We were live on TikTok for the wedding.

PoliticsVAT: Samuel Ortom Supports Lagos, Rivers In Case Against FIRS by faith2kool(op): 10:19pm On Sep 10, 2021
We’ll Await Supreme Court Decision – Benue Governor Supports Wike, Sanwo-Olu On Value-Added Tax

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has shown his support for his counterparts in Lagos and Rivers states amid moves to make the collection of value-added tax (VAT) exclusive to states.

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, signed into law the bill on Value Added Tax (VAT) collection in the state.

This was days after a Federal High Court issued an order restraining the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) from collecting the tax in the state.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos governor, followed suit on Friday.

However, the court of appeal in Abuja ordered both Rivers and Lagos states to maintain status quo over the collection of VAT, pending the determination of an appeal filed by the FIRS.

Ortom, who spoke with journalists on Friday, said although he supports Wike and Sanwo-Olu, he would embrace the decision of the court on VAT collection no matter the outcome.

Ortom said he had already directed the Benue State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to study the law and tell him its implications.

“I don’t think there is anything wrong in embracing the law as long as it conforms with the constitution, whether it affects states positively or negatively. I support the governors of Rivers and Lagos states for what they are doing.

“Anything that is in tandem with the rule of law I will accept, but if anyone thinks otherwise, the best thing to do is to go to court. I heard they are in court, and if the case is decided otherwise by the Supreme Court, we will accept it,” the governor said.

Lagos Governor, Sanwo-Olu Signs Value Added Tax Bill Into Law, Joins Rivers Governor

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, has signed the state Value Added Tax (VAT) Bill into law.

Gbenga Omotosho, State Commissioner for Information disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

“Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed into law the State VAT Bill as passed by the House of Assembly.

“The Governor signed the ‘bill for a law to impose and charge VAT on certain goods and services’ at about 11.45am today, after returning from an official trip to Abuja. By this act, the Bill has now become a Law,” Omotoso said.

The Lagos State House of Assembly had on Thursday unanimous passed the bill.

Consumers pay VAT when they purchase goods or obtain services. All goods and services (produced within or imported into the country) are taxable except those specifically exempted by the VAT Act.
The VAT rate was raised in Nigeria from five percent to 7.5 percent in 2020.

VAT collection by the Federal Inland Revenue System (FIRS) on behalf of the Nigerian government has been a subject of controversy.

The FIRS, which administers the tax, transfers the generated revenue to the three levels of government via the federation accounts allocation committee (FAAC).

Recently, a court in Port Harcourt restrained FIRS from the collection of VAT and empowered the Rivers state government to take charge.

After the ruling, the Lagos state government began to domesticate a law to guide the collection of its VAT and warned FIRS to obey the Rivers ruling.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Thursday signed into law the bill on Value-Added Tax (VAT) collection in the state.

Wike signed the bill which was recently passed by the state House of Assembly at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

Christianity EtcStop Giving Honours To Criminals -pastor David Ibiyeomie by faith2kool(op): 11:58pm On Nov 17, 2020
Pastor David Ibiyeomie advises the Nigerian Government to give honour to whom honour is due and stop giving National Honours to criminals.
*Children and Youths: You have all it takes to reach the top legitimately, crave to be the best in your endeavours.

Children, I advise you as a Father. It applies to the youths all over the world. There is this syndrome that is very common especially in this part of the world, (where we are ministering from), where money is becoming so tempting, where the world believes that if you have money, then you don’t look at any source, no values, nothing.
They celebrate any man with money no matter how he gets money. They are not interested, once he has money, you see them give him a big title, a chieftancy title, they make him a king, they make him a governor once he has money, they make him anything. But any money that is ill-gotten must not be celebrated.
True in our society, people celebrate such without questioning the source of the income but I tell you the truth, such money can lead you to hell. It doesn’t bring positive impact.

All our youths and children, please crave to be the best in your academics: that is what we want to celebrate. Be the best in your career, be the best in your business and any area.
You have all it takes to hit the top from the 5 messages taught today, very powerful messages. You can reach the top legitimately, you don’t have to do dirty things to get to the top.

Don’t be lured to quick wealth and short cuts. Don’t say, “you want to get it quick quick.” I said something, in Forbes magazine that shows the list of the top richest men in the world, criminals, terrorists, drug barons and dictators are not among the richest in the world. They don’t celebrate them, they don’t even write their names.
So, we want a generation that will respect values. We want to celebrate people that will get wealth the legal way and not criminals.
Don’t be part of such. In case, you are looking at that area, please from this moment turn away from such.
We want to raise children that will have values and will get money legitimately.

This is the kind of Nigeria, we want to see. Better Nigeria and also a Better World.
Wherever you are, make sure you are part of those we can proud of as fathers to say, “that is my son, that is somebody who gave birth to me.” We don’t want to see a child that got money and they say, “he got the money through drugs.” No, we don’t want to see a generation like that. I’m sure you will not be part of them. In case you are looking at that path, turn and face the good path.
God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

In Nigeria, they should stop giving National Honours to criminals. They are hearing me all over the world. We give CON, MMM, MFS to people who are crooks. You give a man whom you know he is a robber, National Honours and those who are promoting Education, you don’t even give them.
Give honour to those whom honour is due. Stop giving criminals honour, that’s why people are thinking that is the best way.

CelebritiesCenter Your Artistry On Something That Will Last, Stop Shaking Bumbum – Onyeka by faith2kool(op): 7:55pm On Oct 04, 2020
Veteran singer, Onyeka Onwenu, has advised female musicians to focus more on producing meaningful contents and leaving behind legacies that will last even after they are no more.

The Singer Had A Recent Interview With TheNation, Where She Also Suggested That Female Musicians Should Desist From Shaking Their Derrières Because Men Don’t Do It.

In Her Words;

“Be Careful Of What You Live For Posterity. If You Can’t Give Your Best, Don’t Step Out Because What You Recorded Is Always Going To Be There For Long, So You Got To Give It The Very Best.

“Center Your Artistry Around Something That Will Last With Meaning, Not Just Shaking Bumbum And It’s Just The Women That Are Always Shaking It, The Men Don’t Shake Anything.

“Women Are Worth More Than Shaking Their Bumbum. Enough Of The Bumbum. Though, Everyone Is Free To Be Creative, But Just Know That Yours Will Not Last While The Other Person With Meaningful Lyrics Will Remain Evergreen

Nairaland GeneralIf You Have These Seven Habits, People Will Never Help You by faith2kool(op): 11:00pm On Sep 30, 2020
My people, one good but funny thing is that no body is above help ,at every level we all need help from each other. politically, financially, spiritually, academically, financially, career wise, maritally, socially, economically, all round.
so Everything I drop here, is based on the numerous research I got in regards to the said issue or topic.

So a lot of times, people complain of their Inability to obtain favor from others, especially when the said favor is duly right for their obtainable.

Today, I’m going to be telling you a lot of things why you might likely be responsible for what you’re currently going through.

These characters I am about to share, not only have they denied people favour and help, they have also denied them access to greater heights.

1. Entitlement Mentality: If you allowed it’s my entitlement attitude becloud your sense of reasoning. then you are on your own. No one owes you!Even your parents do not owe you.

Your siblings, uncles and aunties do not owe you.

Work your way out and stop believing that people should Carter and take care of you.

To tell you the truth, once people notice this part of you, nobody willfully, will render help to you.

2. Wastefulness: People hate helping those who are generally wasteful.

They believe that such people will only lanquinsh whatever it is you give to them.

And which person in his right senses, will be Happy to have his hard earned resources wasted?

Even an insane person, won’t condole this.

So you see, if you have the wasteful attitude, trust me, you will likely chase your helpers away.

There are no two ways about it.

3. Irresponsibility: You’re irresponsible, everyone around knows it, and you’re seeking for help, how insane of you to think that you would receive help by being irresponsible.

Irresponsibility comes with a lot of things, laziness inclusive.

An irresponsible person wont be a keeper of things, such people who fall into this category, are rather concerned about how to party and have fun around, with little or no thought on how to better their lives.

People know that irresponsible people can’t be held responsible for anything positive in life.

If you invest in them, you will be quick to develop high blood pressure and die before your time. continue reading

PoliticsI Will Resign From Office If You Mention One Thing You Have Done For Rivers by faith2kool(op): 7:38pm On Sep 30, 2020
I Will Resign From Office If You Mention One Thing You Have Done For Rivers As Minister- Governor Wike Challenges Rotimi Amaechi

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has challenged his predecessor now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, to mention his contributions to the state in his capacity as a Minister. Wike threw the challenge while reacting to Amaechi’s claim that he, Amaechi, is one of the best governors the state has ever had.

While speaking at the funeral of Adolphus Karibi-Whyte, a former justice of the supreme court on Sunday, September 27, Amaechi complained of rising insecurity, bad roads, and intimidation of the judiciary in Rivers state.

“You have lost your voice. The sage (the late justice) has gone under and nobody is speaking. When I was governor, I gave people voices, but they have blocked those voices. Everyone is scared. We are going back to when Ateke held sway. We are going back to the period where we run away from our people. We are back to a period when nobody could speak. But from next year, I will begin to speak, if nobody wants to speak.” Amaechi said

Speaking in an interview with AIT on Monday September 28, Governor Wike challenged the former governor to mention one developmental project he has brought to the state as a Minister.

“Rivers people will ask you, what will you tell us. You’re doing rail to Niger Republic, which one have you done in your state?. As minister of education, I brought faculty of law to Port Harcourt. I brought N500 million grant to Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, I built so many schools. As a minister, I’m proud.

“You’re a minister, tell Rivers people I brought this, mention one. If you mention one, I’ll resign now. Mention what you’ve brought to Rivers people to convince them. We’re too educated for you to go to Kalamari to incite them.

“He said judges lost their voice. He’s right, why won’t they? A man who shut down the court for two years, NBA didn’t say anything. So, if he is now saying that NBA lost their voice, he’s right. Today, nobody talks about it that’s why he has the audacity to tell NBA they’ve lost their voice.

“You went to a supreme court justice house to tell him the president is not happy with him, why won’t judges lose their voice? I also heard him say he’s the best governor. I have no problem about that, he’s very right. If a man can close the court for two years, why would he not be the best governor?” Governor Wike said

Governor Wike in the interview alleged that Amaechi spent N12 billion in fumigating the state while he was in office and yet mosquitoes still bite people in the state.

“One of the things that made him the best governor, for fumigation of a state like Rivers state, we paid over N12 billion naira so that there would be no more mosquitoe. Today, mosquito is still biting me. He is not one of the best, he is the best. Who would have done all he did without being the best?” he said
