The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has suspended a lecturer, Dr. Rowland Igwe, indefinitely for allegedly getting a student of the institution pregnant, after a series of intimidation and sexual assault.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, said this in his official twitter handle on Friday.

The VC said the undergraduate suffered health complications as a result of the pregnancy, while the matter has been referred to the institution’s Senate Committee on Staff Disciplinary Matters for further investigation.

The statement reads, “The Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has placed Dr. Rowland Uchechukwu Igwe of the Department of Sociology on an indefinite suspension on an allegation of serial intimidation, sexual harassment and undue canal knowledge of a female undergraduate which resulted in her impregnation and other complications.

Veteran singer, Friday Igwe, popularly known as Baba Fryo, has cried out for help from Nigerians and the government.

The singer took to his Instagram page seeking help as he battles depression.

Baba Fryo appealed to the Rivers, Delta, and Lagos State governments to come to his aid.

‘His post read: ‘I’m having a serious depression.

“Igweh family, friends , Delta state government, Lagos and Rivers government save me.”

Baba Fryo was popular for releasing street songs like ‘Dem go dey pose’ in the late 90s.

Chief Kenneth Gbagi the Owner of the Popular Robinson Plaza, warri,Delta state and CEO, Golden Tulip Hotels/Signatious Hotel and Suites and One time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, allegedly strip, molest and arrest four staff of his Hotel (Signatious Hotel) at PTI junction,Warri over accusations that they stole Five Thousand Naira from the hotel.

Meanwhile, the Staffs claim with evidence, that the money was a gift from a customer on the 8th of September.

As at Friday the 18th day of September, 2020 at the hotel, Chief Gbagi strip them ( 3girls and a boy), naked and asked his 15 years old son to video them while he watch them meanwhile the mobile Policemen attached to him pointed their guns at them with a threat of shooting any of them if they disobey the order.

Chief Gbagi also collect their ATM cards and withdrew the sum of (279,000) from their personal accounts and forced them at Gun point to write statement under duress, locked them inside one room at the hotel before he invited police officers from Ebrumede Police Station to detain them since Friday, 18th September till Monday before charging them to court on Monday.

According to insiders at the hotel, they said this chief Gbagi don’t usually pay his workers salaries for several months and that these is not the first time Chief Gbagi treats his workers in such shameless way.

The families of the victims are now calling on Nigerians, the Inspector General of Police, Human Rights Organizations, Government of Delta State and the Presidency, to come to their aid in other to get Justice for their loved ones. See unclad Photos

The Rivers State Executive Council has approved the reopening of Schools in the State.

Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku made the disclosure to newsmen after an emergency SEC meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

Prof. Ebeku said the Council approved that schools in Rivers should reopen on October 5, 2020.

According to him, “The SEC approved the reopening of all Secondary Schools, Vocational schools and Tertiary Schools.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the council based on medical advice, did not approve the reopening of Primary Schools in the state which would await a new date in the future.

“Furthermore, the Executive council approved the setting up of a 7-man Taskforce to monitor compliance of the COVID-19 protocol in all the schools.”

Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim re-emphasized that bars and clubs remained closed in the State.

Nsirim added that businesses, including Cinemas, Parks and Restaurants should remain operational between 6am-9pm daily.

Also Speaking, Commissioner for Health, Professor Princewill Chike said the fine of N100million remains in place for any defaulter of the COVID-19 rule on burial.

State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Inime Aguma said all Local government Chairmen have been empowered to monitor wedding ceremonies in their local government areas, “to ensure compliance of Executive Order No. 16 of the Rivers State government,” which also prescribes a N100 milliin fine for anyone who holds a wedding reception amidst the pandemic.

A 20-year-old song writer and recording artist, Daniel Chibuike aka Sleek has died, after he was allegedly shot on Saturday, September 19, 2020, by a mopol attached to a supermarket in Elelenwo area of Port Harcourt, River State.

It was gathered that Sleek and his friend, Reuben were being chased by Operatives of the Special anti-robbery Squad (SARS), when a mopol, on hearing thief, opened fire on him.

According to the deceased friend: “Him and his friend Reuben were just coming out from Reuben’s house when the SARS operatives started chasing them, they ran away towards Elelenwo market in PH.

Suddenly the SARS operatives started screaming and calling them thieves, which made the Mopol guarding De Topic supermarket to fire a direct shot at Sleek.

He didn’t die instantly. His friend kept begging and pleading with them to rush him to the hospital but they refused and asked him to shut up. They left him to die in the pool of his blood in front of the supermarket.

The 78-year-old cleric says should he have his way, he will restrict his sermons and activities to members of his church.
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says some of the things he says annoy non-members of his church.

Adeboye, who said this during a sermon on Sunday titled ‘From Lockdown to Lifting Up’, said but “the lockdown has made the door open to everybody”.

He, however, appealed to his critics not to be offended with him over his comments, saying they are meant for his ‘children’.

In the sermon broadcast live via the church’s TV, Dove Media, the cleric said, “As a matter of fact, if there is a way of preaching this sermon just to my own children alone, that is what I would have done. Not because I’m selfish but occasionally there are things you say to your children that would annoy outsiders. And you keep on saying, but I am not talking to you, I am talking to my children. But now, the lockdown has made the door open to everybody.

South African award-winning rapper, AKA has revealed that he tested positive for the Coronavirus.
AKA took to his twitter page to disclose his test result and advised everyone to stay safe. In his statement, he revealed that he chose to make his result known to the public to create awareness. He also vowed to share his recovery journey while in self-isolation to help others. He urged his fans to immediately go for a check-up once they start to develop COVID-19 symptoms.

He further revealed that he is looking forward to destigmatizing the virus as people would only pay attention when it happens to a public figure of those close to them. Award-winning Tanzanian actress, Wema Sepetu has made shocking revelations about her ex-boyfriend, Diamond Platnumz.
The pair dated on and off between 2012 and 2014. In a recent interview, Sepetu shockingly stated that one of the things she misses most about dating Diamond was how he beat her up. Nigerian singer and Empawa boss, Mr Eazi has urged African creatives to push towards African equity participation.

The singer took to his Instagram page to point out that Africa has been exploited for its mineral resources for years. He added that 95% of Africa’s resources are shipped out of Africa and the remaining 5% is mismanaged leading Africa to a poverty-ridden continent. The singer went on to explain that some of the biggest players in the African music ecosystem aren’t even Africa-owned.

Nigerian veteran rapper, Illbliss has advised fans not to be fooled by the lifestyle of some Nigerian entertainers because many of them are actually broke.

The rapper took to his Twitter page to reveal that most of the big entertainers are dead broke because of the coronavirus pandemic. He urged fans not to be fooled by whatever they see as these entertainers have squandered their money on expensive jewelry, and drugs. Woman Confesses to Hiring Men to Kill Her Husband After Neighbours Threaten To Kill Her

A woman from Kiogoro Location in Kisii County escaped mob lynching after she admitted to hiring goons to kill her husband.

The woman only identified as Judith reportedly hired three men who stormed the deceased’s house on Wednesday night (June 24) armed with pangas and crude weapons. They are said to have hacked the 42-year-old Nelson Mogire Nyamao to death before fleeing.

Neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to the scene and found the deceased’s wife looking at her partner’s body which lay in a pool of blood next to a bed in the bedroom. The body had cuts on the neck and the head.

Neighbours said the woman appeared fidgety when they asked her what had transpired.

The suspicious residents threatened to set the woman on fire if she refused to tell the truth, forcing the mother of two to confess that she had hired the thugs to kill her husband after the spouse communicated plans to reunite with his first wife, who had left her matrimonial home nine years ago.

The deceased’s brother, James Nyamao, said his sibling was in the process of building his estranged first wife a house within the compound.

The suspect also led the neighbours to a thicket near the compound, where the thugs left the blood-stained murder weapons.

It took the intervention of the area chief to stop the neighbours who were baying for her blood. The chief called police who arrested the suspect and transferred the body of the deceased to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

One of three suspects who killed the man was also arrested and is being held at the Kiogoro Police Station.
