Nairaland General10 Ways On How To Live A Happy Life Without Money by faith2kool(op): 9:21am On Jun 20, 2020
Do you believe in the saying that money makes the world go round? In our society, money is equated with power and control. Both of these give us an illusion of success and happiness. Money also gives us security and freedom. It buys us comfort.

When you lack money to spend for your wants and sometimes even your needs, the experience can be scary. It can be a constant source of stress if you do not know how to come to terms with your situation.

1. Do not forget to smile.
In a study done by Michigan State University, they asked customer service workers to think of positive thoughts. Everyone just lit up like a light bulb and smiled! They’ve also reported an improved mood. (I think we already know that would happen!) If you do not feel like smiling right now, think of a happy thought and force those muscles. The secret here is to fake it until you make it.

2. Be mindful.
Take control of your thoughts. If you notice it straying to the past or future, consciously bring it back to the present – the now. Let go of all the anger and regrets you have of yesterday or your worries for tomorrow. Instead, find joy in the present. Put your focus and attention in what you are doing. Spend your time on something that you find meaningful. Use your time to add value to yourself.

3. Be grateful.
Fall into the habit of being thankful for the big things, the little things and the things in between. When you have a grateful heart you become a magnet of blessings. Nobody wants to be with people who are pessimistic. Whining will not help you win! To help you with this exercise, start a gratitude journal.

4. Move your body.
When I don’t have money, I usually get so sad that getting out of bed is a struggle. I encourage you to get up and exercise right in your own home or in a park! This releases feel-good hormones and burns out stress chemicals. You get an all-natural high that is way better than Prozac! It also gives the feeling of accomplishment. There’s no need for a gym membership to do this.

5. Get some sunshine.
Exercise outside or even take your lunch out in the open just to soak in that free vitamin D from Mr Sun. An added bonus would be a nice tan that will give you that healthy glow.

6. Practice contentment.
Stop complaining about the lack of provision. Change your perspective. Happiness depends on the way you look at life and people around you. Everything is temporary so do not let your today define your tomorrow. Stop scrolling through your Facebook or Instagram account so you would not have a constant reminder of what you are missing out. Do not compare yourself with what others have accomplished.

7. Embrace minimalism.
With little money, you will be forced to live with fewer material possessions. Accept that reality and start caring less about owning more. Owning more will only make you happy for a few moments because we will always want more. If you need to buy something, do it consciously and deliberately.

8. Be kind to others.
Speak nicely and always find an opportunity to help. Do not be afraid to be altruistic. Helping others adds more meaning and purpose to our lives. It has also been found out to help the release of endorphins so we feel good after doing good to others.

9. Sleep well.
Get a good night’s rest. It helps our body recover and repair so when you wake up you will be more focused and more productive. Sleep deprivation affects the hippocampus, a part of the brain where positive memories are processed. Lack of sleep then affects your brain’s ability to recall happy memories. It also affects our sensitivity to negative emotions like stress, anxiety, anger and fear.

10. Enjoy quiet times.
Find time to connect with yourself through different activities like reading, meditating, praying, and journalising. This allows you to unload your daily burdens as well as plan out your next steps. A few minutes of silence per day helps your hippocampus store memories.

At the end of the day, know that although money can buy us comfort, it can’t buy us happiness. Because happiness can’t be found through things but through living a meaningful life. It can also be considered a skill. Identifying what makes you happy on

The key lesson here is to use your current financial status to discover how you can become a better version of yourself. When you look back on this period of your life you will understand that what you once thought was a stumbling block was actually a stepping stone.

Christianity EtcChristianity Is About Power Not Explanation Or Motivation -pastor David Ibiyeomi by faith2kool(op): 8:57am On Jun 20, 2020
Nowadays pastors talk about sickness even more than unbelievers.
Christianity without power will end up in frustration.

When Jesus came, the Pharisees couldn’t understand Jesus’ miracles because of tradition.
That is what many pastors are doing today. You see them analyzing sickness on television.
Tradition destroyed the Pharisees and Saducees.
If you are against change, you are an enemy of progress.
The change of the gospel is unconventional.
That is what makes Christianity Christianity.
If you play down on power, you remain a vegetable.
May your Christianity produce results.

In 1996, we were 120 students trained by Bishop Oyedepo, we went out into Lagos and took the City by storm. The Church grew by 11,000.
Now pastors have become motivational speakers and turning the Bible upside down.
May the Power of God that will hit you today turn your life around.

Why must you be a Christian and be talking like an unbeliever?

Artistes Use My Father As An Excuse To Smoke, Womanize, Be Reckless And Rude – Seun Kuti

Nigerian afro singer, Seun Kuti has spoken on how many Nigerian artistes are using his father as an excuse to be wayward.
The singer made this known during an Instagram live session with Ubi Franklin. The Triple MG boss had asked him what he thought about the artsites claiming that Fela the pioneer of afrobeat inspired them. Ubi also asked him if these so-called artistes were really acting like Fela or just wanted to attach their name to someone legendary.

Seun responded saying that the majority of them grew up in religious homes. He added that they use his father’s name as an excuse to smoke, womanize, be reckless and rude to their elders.

RomanceAll Men Cheat’, ‘all Women Like Money’ And Other Generalisations You Don’t Need by faith2kool(op): 5:20am On Jun 16, 2020
You can actually do better than these delimiting generalisations.
Things like “all men cheat,” and “women only want money” are well-known mantras; generalisations that the average Nigerian has heard over and over again.

Due to its repeated usage, and also because of the relationship stories you may have come across, you may be fooled into thinking that there’s a truth to these things.

In reality, what you’ll find is actually a different thing altogether, and the earlier you realise this, the better for you and your relationship, be it ongoing or forthcoming.

The relationship generalisations above, and the many others that you know are not exactly hasty, because truly, many experiences may have necessitated them.

However, as much as we can’t discredit previous experiences people may have had in relationships, it is also not OK to be prejudiced against people in the future without even giving them a chance to express themselves.

So and so people like sex too much.

This and that kind of men are cheats and will surely break your heart.

Women from so and so can smell money from a mile away.

Men from here are bad fathers, women from there are concubine-keepers.

The list goes on and on about the things certain people will do and not do to you but you cannot allow this sole thing determine how you approach relationships. People can’t be judged by generalisations about people of their kind, just as books can’t be judged by their covers.

Even while in relationships, you need to relate with your partner based on their personalities and not based off what you think people like them like or dislike. People are absolutely different and as you must have heard, what pleases this person may not rock the other person’s boat in any way, even though they may share cultural, gender, locational and even physical similarities.

Until you have given someone a chance to prove their character, you can’t tell if he or she will make a bad partner. And because relationships are deeply personal things involving only two people, basing your judgement of a person on anything independent of him or her is nothing but unfair.

And that’s exactly what you should do. Always.

Romance10 Ways To Be More Romantic To Your Girlfriend by faith2kool(op): 10:10pm On Jun 15, 2020
Romance always makes any relationship much sweeter, and yes, it pays a lot when you are a sweet boyfriend. Girls, no matter how mature they are, fall in love with men who know a thing or two about romance, even if this doesn’t come naturally for most guys. But being romantic is a skill that can be learned and improved, so don’t worry. If you really want your girl to fall in love with you every single day, then you have to give her the romance she deserves.

So how exactly should you exercise romance? Here are 10 easy and foolproof ways to be romantic to your girlfriend:

1. Surprise her.
Girls love surprises. They often say they don’t like to be caught off guard, but once they are surprised –especially with an unexpected present or deed, they’d just go head over heels. Surprises need not be lavish, though; you may want to do a sweet deed such as a home-cooked meal or a card saying how much you love her even when there’s no occasion. She’ll just love you even more because of these efforts.

2. Always be thoughtful.
Every woman wants to be reminded about how beautiful she is, or how she inspires you as a romantic partner. Hence, be thoughtful about these by saying her best qualities out loud. You may also want to be on the lookout for her welfare –this can be by texting that she takes care of herself on the way to work, or not to stress out too much, and that you’re always there for her. She keeps these messages not just in her inbox, but also in her heart.

3. Consider what makes her smile first.
This somehow correlates with surprises. When making plans, both surprises and not, consider what makes her heart skip first. You cannot just take her to a horror movie when you know she doesn’t like horror flicks, or surprise her with something you’re not sure she’d take pleasantly.

As her boyfriend, you should know what makes her happy, so when giving her a present or doing a deed, it is important that she would like the fruit of your labor, and not just the effort itself.

4. Remember the dates!
If there’s one thing you should know about the female specie, it’s that they have really sharp memory –especially when it comes to dates and important occasions. They’d be upset if you forget a “monthly anniversary,” or your actual anniversary, her birthday, Valentine’s Day, and dates when you’re supposed to do something special together. So yes, it is important to keep your calendar updated by marking all the occasions that are important to her, and make sure that you do your part in making these days extra special.

5. Take the initiative.

You don’t want to experience the wrath of a nagging girlfriend, right? Well, girls become naggers when their boyfriends don’t take initiative in things that they are expected to be doing. So it is a must that you take the initiative, not only in meeting her needs (such as picking her up at work or going out on a date), but as well as in doing deeds she doesn’t expect you to do.

Being self-reliant and not depending on her orders helps a lot not only in making you romantic, but also in improving your relationship, because she sees you to be someone she can rely on for the long term.

6. KISS.
Keep things simple and sweet. Sometimes she feels more loved when you do things that do not cost a lot –as these are the gestures where she sees your effort the most. These include spending time with her without having to go out on a date, or writing her love letters out of the blue, or by simply holding her hand while walking down the street.

7. Exercise chivalry.

Girls these days often exclaim that chivalry is “dead,” mainly because it is no longer observed by most men. You may want to prove your girlfriend wrong, though, by making sure that she is pampered and protected by your actions.

You may exercise chivalry through simple acts, such as opening the door for her, assisting her while walking in trails that may put her at risk to tripping or falling, or making her wear your sweater whenever she gets cold.

8. Give her something personalized.

Surprises also come in the form of personalized gifts. You may want to do something out of your imagination and give it to her as a sign of your love that’s for her and for her only. Such examples include making a mixtape using her favorite songs, or writing her a poem in case you have a thing for rhymes, or serving her your signature dish. You can also wear a personalized shirt with a quote or statement that publicly declares your love for her, in case you’re feeling proud of her and your relationship.

9. Accompany her to shopping!
Probably one of the best ways to show that you are a romantic boyfriend is this: taking her out for shopping. You need not spend for whatever it is she is going to buy, but your mere willingness to accompany her is good enough to be romantic. This is because we all know that guys dread this task, and only a few good men can keep up with their ladies’ shopping attitudes. Your girlfriend will love you even more because she knows that you are not only exercising chivalry, but are also very patient with her “girl deeds.”

10. Keep tabs on things that will improve her life.
Lastly, you may show your romantic side by knowing ahead the things that make her life easier. You see that she often stays up late due to work, then make her a glass of coffee and a sandwich. You see that she skips meals because of hectic schedules, then make her packed lunch that she can eat in between breaks. You see that she gets dehydrated more often than usual, then place a bottle of water in her bag. These things make her feel that you totally care for her welfare and safety, and for most girls, this is the most romantic deed any guy can do.

Being romantic doesn’t make you less of a guy; in fact, it adds more to your “manliness” points. And girls see through these acts, and doing so will give them more reason to love you better.

Super singer, Teni had a few words for a fan who said he was against women being breadwinners.

Teni in a series of tweets stated there was nothing wrong with a woman being the breadwinner in a family. In another tweet, she added that if more women were given power, positive change will be more realistic.“Nothing wrong in a woman being the breadwinner!Put more women in power!! Get the change you need!!”

However, a fan reacted to her opinion and argued that it’s a big problem if a man starts to do house chores like sweeping and cleaning the house. Baffled Teni asked him why he couldn’t cook and clean and he revealed that he never saw his own father doing house chores so he would never do otherwise. He added that God will provide for him, to be the breadwinner of his own family. Teni responded to him telling him to go back to school because his education seems to be poor.

The body believes that much more could be achieved when the seasoned Prof. is confirmed.

He further intimated the Acting VC that the Niger Delta Student Union Government is responsible for the welfare of students from the nine Niger Delta States, both within Nigeria and in diaspora.

While responding, the Acting VC, Prof. Augustine Oko Angba, thanked the president of NIDSUG and his members for coming to pay him the visit.
He informed the Unionists that he has always been an educationist all his life and his vision is to ensure that all CRUTECH graduates become globally competitive and can match their peers anywhere in the world.

The VC encouraged the body to advice their members and the entire Niger Delta students to shun violence, especially cultism and focus on their studies, because education is a serious business, as such, students have to show commitment and determination to succeed in their academic pursues. In his word, he said “student should be the chief security officers of themselves” and that when student checkmate one another the campus could be a safe heaven

Prof. Angba further expressed his dissatisfaction at student unions who have become so disorganized to the extend that they no longer fight for the welfare of the students by demanding better hostel accommodations, better lecture halls and better amenities on campus from university managements, but they rather fight for their own selfish gains which was not so from the beginning of student unionism on campus.

I am So Ashamed Of The Government For Allocating N27 Billion To Renovate The Senate Building – 2Baba

2baba has joined Wizkid, Femi Kuti and Banky W to react to the new proposed bill for healthcare, education, and the renovation of the National Assembly building.

According to Punch, the Federal Government recently reduced the budget for the renovation of the National Assembly complex to N27.7bn. The renovation of the complex at the initial cost of N37bn, which is to be executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration has, however, raised eyebrows and received criticisms from Nigerians.

2baba who had taken to Twitter earlier this morning to slammed pastors and Imams called out the Nigerian government for slashing funds meant to better the nation. According to him, he has always been ashamed of the government but now he feels extra ashamed. He wrote: “If this Naija Budget is The real figures then I must say I’m ashamed ‘Extra’ of my government beyond how I have been ashamed before. How can u slash Health and Education and Agriculture spending? When renovation wan do. Smh. I weak. Can’t even shout cos my voice dey fail me”
