Maryam Apaokagi, the famous Nigerian skit creator and actress known as Taaooma, has revealed that she expected popularity to send criticism from trolls her way.

She said that as a popular figure, she has developed a thick skin to criticism.

According to The Nation, a viral photo of her being lifted by two coworkers sparked widespread outrage from members of the public.

In an interview with Punch, she said she wasn’t surprised by the criticism.

She said: “I have been ready for things like that ever since I realised that I am popular. It is very normal for people to talk. Many people just take out their anger and frustrations on celebrities, and that is quite understandable. We are in the public eye, and things like that should not surprise us.

“That was an innocent photo I took with my colleagues, but a critic decided to create intentions for us. Things like that don’t surprise me anymore. They have said worse things in the past”.

Taaoomaa also argued collaboration was key to succeeding as a creative.

She said: “As a content creator, collaboration is essential. My recent collaboration has been in the works for quite some time, and I am glad they eventually saw the light of day.

“I believe that collaboration takes one far as a creator, and that is the goal; to keep moving forward. It helps to expand one’s audience beyond Africa to the rest of the globe.”

Asked about the effect that working with American acts such as Terry Crews and King Bachelor has had on her career, she said: “I have achieved some of the goals I set for myself, as I am a very determined person when it comes to ticking things off my bucket list.

“This is one thing I have always looked forward to, and ticking it off my list is a great catalyst for myself and my career. As for other things that might come from it, I guess we will wait and see. There will be more collaboration, but I cannot say which for now. I will just keep working towards many more.”

Nollywood Actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, has been confirmed dead hours after surviving a boat accident.

The Nollywood actor and three fellow colleagues were announced to have died when their boat overturned on the Anam River in Anambra State as they were returning from a film set.

However, a few hours after Junior Pope was declared dead, he was confirmed to have been resuscitated and alive after experiencing a death scare.

In a twist of event, the Nigerian actor was later confirmed dead by doctors, according to a movie producer, Stanley Nwoke.

Nwoke, who had been with the actor throughout the incident, revealed that the doctors had confirmed it.

He took to his Instagram page on Wednesday Night to share the news, saying that there was no doubt that his death was sad and painful.

A Keke NAPEP Driver in Kano, Auwalu Salisu has returned N12 million forgotten by one of his passengers to the owner. The money was left by the passengers on Thursday and was returned to them on Saturday.

He returned the money which is in CFA and Naira denominations (CFA10.130 million and N2.938million) after hearing an announcement on Arewa Radio 93.1 Kano.

He was given a reward of N400,000 by the owners who appreciate his honesty.

He said, although the money was huge, it will not add anything to his life if he didn’t return to the owner because Allah will not bless anything he does with the money since it belongs to somebody who sweated to get it.

Narrating how the thing happened, he said, “I took them from Badawa to a place near Yankaba. I didn’t realize that they have forgotten the money. I saw a bag containing the money at the back. I touched it and I realized that, it contained bundles of money.

“When I opened it and saw the money, I quickly went home and showed it to my mother who then instructed me to show it to my father.

He then called his brother and we went back to look for the owners, but we didn’t see them. “I went into the building close to where they disembark, I look everywhere but I didn’t see them. So, I went back and told my father and my uncle that, I haven’t seen them.

“So, we went back home and kept the money in safe and waited to hear any announcement about people who left their money in a Keke NAPEP.

“I later heard an announcement on Arewa Radio, I took the phone number provided and called in the morning. I called about five times and the call was not answered. I later called the second number provided and they picked it.

“They asked me about where to meet me, I said I will come to Arewa Radio, but they said I they will meet me at my place in Badawa. But I insisted that, we should meet at the Radio Station and they agreed. We went there at 10:am”.

On his part, a friend of the owner, Musa Hassan who appreciated the Keke Drivers honesty commended him for being a Good fearing young man who despite being poor sees it right to return the money untouched to the owner.

Hassan who spoke amidst intermitted cry said, it is very hard to find an honest boy like Auwalu whose parents are poor to return a huge amount of money especially at this time of hardship.

He informed that, they were told by the father of the boy that, the family took Gari even the day before while waiting to hear about the owner of the money they are keeping at home.

The owner who was a Chadian and cannot speak Hausa was seen crying as his friend speaks in the video.

I have to bring this issue here because I need to hear more people opinion.
We having been dating for three years now and our relationship is basically a long distance as we are not even close but we communicate more.
As the first son she knew that I always carry my family matter for head, and I always make sure that I do my best for my family financially but the issue is that she is always comparing my spending on my family and the little I was able to do for her.
This year after purchasing a bus for my brother for transportation and informed her about it and honestly from her response I know that she is not happy.
By April ending this year she demanded that she need 50k because she wanted to travel and meet her family at Lagos and I told that I will give her the money next month been this May but something comes up and I was unable to fulfill the promise.

I indulge in skills like catering, soap making, shoemaking and of course, I am into modeling as well. I do face modeling and commercial modeling.

Former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu believes Nigerians may not be ready to elect Peter Obi as President in 2023.

He made the remarks on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm.

Aliyu also noted that many people in the Peoples Democratic Party had been rooting for Obi to be the Vice President to Atiku Abubakar.

Obi is the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 elections.

“Peter Obi is my good friend and a former member of my former Governors forum,” Aliyu said.

“A very excellent person. His candidature, in terms of the Presidency, – I think he will make some name now. But he may be able to make it only in 2027, 2031. But 2023? Too early.

“Even though the young people might go for him, the name is not dropping everywhere else. I doubt if Nigerians are ready for him now as a presidential person.

Nigerian actor Yul Edochie blames the two security guards in the viral video for dancing while on duty.

Yul Eodchie stated this in one of his social media posts saying social media has made people do all sorts of rubbish because they wanted to trend.

A few days ago, two security guards, were seen dancing to the ‘Finesse’ trending song.

it was rumored that the workers were sacked because of their dance after the video went viral on social media.

But the Chicken Republic, the employers of the guards, denied sacking them in a statement on Friday.

Reacting to the video, Edochie tweeted, “It is wrong for a security guard to be dancing at his duty post.

“Social media is making people do all sorts of rubbish just to trend. You should respect your job.

“When you get home after work, you can dance till dawn. You try it with me once, I warn you. Try it again, I will fire you.”

Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh is currently in deep sorrow as she finally lays her stepmother to rest.

Taking to her Instagram page, Tonto Dikeh shared a photo of herself looking moody, like someone who had been crying for a long time.

Tonto Dikeh bids farewell to her stepmother, noting that she can’t forgive God for the pain she’s been made to pass through.

She wrote: Farewell mama. This one I can’t forgive God.

Tonto Dikeh in a post shared on her Instagram story, revealed why she does not attend a burial ceremony, noting it’s a favour she can’t pay if anyone attends her mother‘s burial.

According to Tonto Dikeh, she decided as a child never to attend any burial, and her mother‘s funeral will or might be the first-ever she will attend.

Tonto Dike added that people should not send her a dime or consolation messages as she doesn’t do so well with it; instead, people should pray for her and her family.

In her words: I have never attended a burial before. I will never attend one too, I said this when I was a child and I stick by it… My mom’s burial will/might be my first ever, to all my friends who think am shutting them out.

My reason is I don’t attend burials, if I let you attend my moms, I will owe you the same favour and I can’t repay that. If you love me, pray for my family, if you intend to support me only pray for me. Don’t send a dime or consolation messages. I don’t do so well with that!! But know I appreciate you all a lot and am grateful.
