It is not only prayers that gives glory to God, but work. Smiting on an anvil, sawing a beam, whitewashing a wall, driving horses, sweeping, scouring, everything gives God glory, if believing in his grace you do it as your duty.
To go to communion worthily, gives God great glory, but to take food in thankfulness and temperance gives Him glory too. To lift up the hands in prayer gives God glory, but a woman with a slop pail, gives Him glory too. He is so great that all things give Him glory if you mean they should. Gerard Manley Hopkins.

Some times we used to think some of the sacred acts of worship that we offer to God alone are the very things that brings glory to God. The truth is our prayers, bible reading, hymn singing, fasting, church attendance etc. And other acts that spring from faith, which we presume to have no relation with this world are things that brings glory to God.

However, just as we have this sacred acts so we do, secular acts. And the secular acts includes all of the ordinary activities of life which we carry out on daily basis: eating, sleeping, working, looking after the body and performing all our dull and prosaic duties here on earth.

These things A. W Tozer says "we often do reluctantly and with many misgivings, often apologizing to God for what we considered a waste of time and strength. Our mind is crowded, and we are often uneasy with ourselves with the thoughts that our various secular acts are separating us from the sacred acts we performed unto God. (a belief system of whether we have offended God in our day to day activities comes often to our mind and fills our thoughts).

Against this belief system of whether our secular acts separates us from God do i write that we may come to the understanding that, everything we do, both sacred and secular are there to give glory to God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Charles R. Swindoll understands the concept of secularism in glorifying God when he says " Monday-through-Friday, employment is pure, it is sacred just as sacred as your Sunday activities.


A MAN IN CHRIST: A MAN WHOSE ALL GLORIFIES GOD

Acts 17:28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'

We must therefore come to this understanding that, as long as we are in God, and He is in us, and as long as we continually live an abiding life in Him, all of our acts here on earth will not go without glorifying God.

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for [His] good pleasure.

In as much as a man in God/Christ seek only to do that which pleases God, then every of his acts will definitely be sacred before the father.

John 8:28-29 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [He,] and [that] I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. He knew no divided life, God accept the offering of His total life and made no distinction between act and acts.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE CHURCH

Peter has the knowledge of Christ, and he can boldly profess the faith because, he had been with the Word of life and of God Himself, He knows Christ first handedly, hence, he cannot but confess that which he has seen and witnessed.

Having this prior knowledge that; the church of Christ is built by confession, confession which comes through revelation, and revelation by through the Word.

We shall then go on to see exactly what Jesus meant by saying the “though art Peter (which means a rock), and Upon this rock will I build my church and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it…”

Rock figuratively means: Something that is strong, stable, and dependable; it may be a person who provides security or support to another .


Peter: a strong and dependable rock that provides support for the body Christ

The name ‘Peter’ means ‘rock’. In the Old Testament, the word ‘rock’ often describes the security that God gives to his people. For example, ‘The Lord is my rock’ (2 Samuel 22:2).

Jesus used the word ‘rock’ or Peter as a name for Simon (John 1:42).

Peter himself is like the first rock in Jesus’s building which is the church. Jesus Himself is the true foundation.


But Peter was the first person to declare that he believed Jesus. And Peter became a leader and teacher in the church. He was the first to speak to the crowds at Pentecost about Jesus, the Messiah where 3000 people became Christians that day (Acts 2). Later, he had a dream when he was staying at Joppa. As a result, people who were not Jews believed. And Peter gave them a welcome into the church (Acts 10:1–11:18). He supported the believers who were not Jews at the Council in Jerusalem (Acts 15).

Here we can see Peter’s authority in the church being the first rock, as well as the first leader and guide to the church.


19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Peter’s authority was not his alone. God’s special servants and the men that Jesus sent out were also the foundation and special rocks in the church (Ephesians 2:20).

Hence, Peter is seen here as a solid rock that provides support to the growth of the church, but not upon whom the whole church of Christ, the assembly of the angels and believers is being built.

The truth unarguable is that, if Peter had been the very rock upon which our faith is built as Christians, our faith is going to be dashed and shipwrecked and the gate of hell will probably prevail against it. And besides, our confession of faith cannot be built of placed on Peter.

The very Rock: The Confession of Christ
If the passage is read contextually, one would see that; the ‘rock’ refers to what Peter said. He believed that Jesus is the Christ, God’s Son. Everyone who can say the same thing is like a stone in God’s building (1 Peter 2:4-cool. They are the ‘church’. As I have stated earlier, the Greek word for church does not refer to a building or to a particular organisation. It refers to all the people who believe in Jesus. They who heard the word, believed and confesses that He is God’s Son.

Nothing would be able to destroy the church because it was being built upon Revelation and upon Jesus Christ Himself who is the strong, stable, dependable, unbeatable Rock, and the true foundation of the Church.

He (Jesus) is the head and the church is the Body (of Christ).

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted …

We can therefore see that; Peter is not the rock upon which the whole church of Christ is being built, rather he is a solid rock that gives support and guide to every other rock therein, rather, the true Rock that the church of Christ is being built upon is the confession of faith in Christ Jesus and everyone that has come to confess just as peter has done became a rock and support in the Body of Christ.

Christ is the ruler of everything that he created.

How possible is it for her to change her jamb exam date.

My younger sister who is supposed to best my elder sister on her wedding day was saddened today when she reprinted her jamb exam slip only to find out that she was having exam on that day, April 13.

Is there any possibility of changing the exam date.

if you want,you can register,if you want you can leave it,but the main thing is dont report to camp,,your name is already on the NYSC senate list,so you dont have to go back to your school for anything,when the next registration begin by july,u just revalidate,its as simple as that,no much grammer in it,LOL

U should either proceed with registration on the NYSC portal and ignore, i.e. DO NOT REPORT TO CAMP. Then REVALIDATE ur profile with d next batch when ready OR U should jst simply ignore everything till when u are ready and begin ur registration afresh when d time comes.

My name appears on the senate list (batch A) and I am to proceed to doing registration. However, due to my financial status, I won't be able to go with this them.

I want to deffer it to batch B.

So, for now I really don't know how or what to do.

Should I continue with the registration or I should just wait.
