Hello house, my new partner just registered her car on uber and intends to pair with me to drive for her. She told me now that her profile looks like that of a driver, and not sure if she has registered as someone that can employ a driver. I have applied to be paired with her and I am waiting for the pairing to take effect since they said it's within 48hrs. I want to know if the profile of a driver is okay for her, since she also registered her car. Thanks

Can you actually say the number of people involved in 419 is less than a million?

If you have to debate that in your head then that's not generalising.
even if they are up to 3million people, it's not still up to 10percent of the total population, so it's not substantial enof for generalisation.

Mad man, is it Ambode that caused his son's death?

Lagos Roads have been experiencing Gridlock before and after independence.

Ambode is trying change the face of Lagos by constructing road networks and someone out there causing. The prayers of other Lagosians erase the curse.

I sympathise with him.
you are just a brainless fool. Why not read well before typing this nonsense? Where did u read that he cursed Ambode. He said he prayed for his son before going to the office. Meanwhile,APC meeting caused the traffic as the roads were blocked with lastma vehicles.

davodyguy:
If not for greed.

80,000 - 50,000 expenses = N30,000 gross profit.
N30,000 X 4 weeks = N120,000 gross income for a month.

How many graduates earn N70,000 a month?

Pathetic driver complaining
stop talking out of ignorance. Many of these driver do not own a car of their own, hence they often rent a car on aa weekly basis, which is between 40k and 45k. How does he pay 40k car rental out of the 30k left with him? Let alone making his own profit.

OlugbengaE:
I dont think its out of place to protest. I think its out of place to mock those who went offline or those who chose to protest.

Lets not forget that Uber/Taxify have no vehicles.
They depend on us for their revenue.
This latest move by the apps is too boost their income not to boost income of partners.
They want to make it cheap so that alot more people will use their app.
Uber has reduced their car year to 2003. This is to get more people on board.

Take these scenarios,
Uber has 1000 drivers who generate an average of N300000 per month. That is 300 million of which 25% is N75000000

Or

Uber has 10000 drivers who generate an average of 100000 per month, that's 1billion Naira of which 25% is N250000000

The second scenario is their strategy.

Less money for partners more money for them.

Anyone who thinks this current regime was borne out of the interest of drivers should bury that thought.
At least I know 10 cars that did not work since Thursday.
I know about 15cars working on taxify that were not allowed on uber due to model year now with this reduction all of them may come on board.

The effects of all these will be reduced earnings for drivers and partners
you have my utmost respect for this your analysis. I've been watching ur comments on this tread and i'm always impressed. It shows that, while u are driving uber, u havnt driven ur brain off with it. Thumbs up

So mean to say the new fare is okay, just the Uber commission is the problem?
never. It's not okay at all. I was just trying to point out the fact that 25% with the old fare was frustrating, talk less of the same percentage with the new fare. When u make 100k in a week, uber gets 25k and it remains 75k with u. When u take out cost of fuelling, lets say 25k, u are left with just 50k. This time,u will have to work twice as much and spend twice for fuel in order to achieve 100k. It's frustrating. I hope they revert it sha.

are u on taxify? If not,i'll advise that u go on taxify. They now charge 5percent commission on the same fare as uber. All my driver friends are now offline on uber and online on taxify. It means that if u take a journey of 1500, taxify would take 75naira from it. Why won't drivers prefer it. Uber's 25percent commission is too much. I'm sure that taxify would record their highest sales today. I hope uber won't loose out completely at the end of it.

you will put a lot of mileage on your car
that's correct. Car owners will get to do more servicing and repairs. And cars get old quickly before you break_even on ur investment. I hope partners would be impressed sha. Besides, it doesn't stop the fact that u may not get a request in some areas that u take a rider to...except u drive out of that area.

If there's anyone who truly deserves to be there, it's her
try to think before u make comments. I love what she did for nigeria and not lagos alone but let's not forget that this posters are honouring those people whom lagos state has contributed to their achievements. Many of them started their successful careers in lagos and they are expressing their appreciation on the face of a poster. The woman did an heroic thing and she will forever remain in our heart but the slogan(lagos is my success story) cannot be said of her. Her death is not a success story to her and her family. She can be immortalised with other things, not lagos is my success story.

Thank you for riding with Taxify!

We'd like to notify you of our pricing update; Taxify has the best rates to move you around in Lagos!

We've lowered our rates to ₦200 base fare ₦55/km and ₦5.5 a minute  (lower than our usual rate of ₦360 base fare ₦81/km and ₦8 a minute);

Minimum ride fare will be at ₦300
During this period, we shall introduce Dynamic Pricing.

Introducing Taxify Dynamic Pricing
We use dynamic pricing to get more cars on the road (drivers are giving up their larger earnings, after all. Let's reward them with a bit of a gift)

There’s a whole lot in it for you too!

The dynamic pricing system will ensure that there is always a ride available for you
The Estimated Time of Arrival will be a lot better so that you can get to your destination on time
You will be able to estimate the trip before hand to see how much more you will need to pay
N.B! We want to be the preferred and most affordable option for you and you loved ones to move around Lagos this period, and still, boost partner-driver earnings. Help us by spreading the word about Taxify.

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to lagos@taxify.eu or tweet to us @taxify_ng with any questions, concerns.

I got the message from taxify also. We can now see that it's because of the competition between them that they are reviewing the fare. Exactly the same rate with uber . I hope it pays them at the long run...cos drivers might start dropping their cars when target is not being met, and as a result, alt uber/ taxify's plan of getting more cars on the road.
