Mr call -to -penury, what really have you done to better the lives of these ones? Or do you just want to record 100% penury recorded for all pastors before you know they are heaven conscious? |

Awujale speaks: Ignore rumours, I am alive August 1, 2017 Premium Awujale is alive – Cousin Those who rumoured my death need God's forgiveness, says Awujale The Awujale of Ijebuland in Ogun State, Sikiru Adetona, is alive, hale and hearty, contrary to widespread rumours about his demise. The 83-year old monarch, who is spending his 57th year on the throne was reported to have died by some bloggers and websites. But it was all fake news. The respected monarch debunked the rumours about his death in a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria. PREMIUM TIMES had reported on Monday that the rumour was false after his cousin confirmed that the monarch was alive. The Awujale has for the past week been a guest of Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, in Lagos, where he has been staying after a routine medical check-up in a Lagos hospital, two weeks ago. Awujale expressed surprise that some bloggers could be spreading rumours about his death without confirming from the palace in Ijebu-Ode or from his chiefs. “Why are people spreading rumours about my death, when I am right here at Oriental”, asked the baffled King. He enjoined journalists to check veracity of their information, before rushing to publish. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/ssouth-west/238771-awujale-speaks-ignore-rumours-i-alive.html

Trade union members at the Bank of England, Britain’s central bank, will go ahead with the first strike action by staff for over 50 years on Tuesday, the Unite union said on Monday. Last-minute talks facilitated by a government-run arbitrator failed to resolve the pay dispute with the bank,’’ the union said after it agreed to delay start of strike action “in a gesture of goodwill”, the union said. Some 95 per cent of staff in maintenance, security and other service roles voted earlier this month for four days of strike action from Monday over a long-running pay dispute. “The strike will now take place from Tuesday to Thursday. “Unite members are calling on the Bank of England to give staff fair pay following the imposition of a derisory pay settlement without negotiating with recognised union Unite,’’ the union said. It said that the dispute was caused by the bank’s imposition of a 1 per cent increase on its total wage bill for the current financial year, while it leaves rises for individual staff at the discretion of line managers. However, the bank made no immediate comment on the planned strike. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/breaking-bank-england-staff-hold-first-strike-50-years/ |

Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project: South West Senators Guilty Of Treason – Afenifere By Temidayo Akinsuyi - July 31, Lagos – Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, on Sunday said South West senators are committing treason against the people of the region by deliberately staying away from the debate that borders on the Lagos-Ibadan rail project. In a statement signed by Yinka Odumakin, its Publicity Secretary, the group said the action of the senators whereby only two out of 18 attended the debate was a sad day for the South West. While demanding an explanation from the absentee senators, the group said such act of gross dereliction of duty by the senators will not be accepted in the future. Independent findings revealed that only Solomon Adeola (Lagos West) and Gbenga Ashafa (Lagos East) were present when the debate on the controversial rail project took place. “Afenifere is alarmed that the sitting of the Senate on Thursday, 27th July 2017 had only 2 out of the 18 senators from the South West in attendance. “This figure is appallingly embarrassing on a normal legislative day but is more of a treason against the people they represent given that an issue of critical importance to the South West was on the table for discussion. “It was a sad day for the South West that when the issue of Lagos-Ibadan rail project was debated and loan request approved by the Shehu Sani-led Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debt, there were only two senators from the zone in the chamber even when our representatives were not unaware that the issue was coming up for discussion. “It was learnt that it took intense lobbying by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, to save the project from being stalled by senators from other zones in the country in spite of the persuasive argument by Senator Sani Committee that the Lagos-Ibadan project was a pilot one by the funders to see how effective we can be before approving the requests in other zones. “Lagos-Ibadan rail project is funded by loans from China sourced by the Federal government. “We appreciate what was done by senators from other zones leading the efforts to save the project when our own representatives were not available at their duty posts. “Our absentee senators owe their constituents explanation on this gross dereliction of duty at the most crucial moment. The Yoruba nation has had quality and effective representation at the National Assembly in the past not to be shocked by this unserious approach to legislative duties. We seriously admonish a rethink and more dedication to duty by our elected representatives”, the statement said. In a similar vein, senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Gbenga Ashafa, has declared support for the Federal Government’s loan request from China Exim Bank during the consideration of the report from the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts. The senator, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Land Transport, in his contribution to the report of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debt concerning the loan request urged his colleagues to approve the loan request as doing same would be supporting the legislative agenda of the 8th Senate. He reminded his colleagues that “there is a time frame attached to the loan and that if the loan is not approved by the Senate, the country stands the risk of forfeiting the loan, which would help a great deal in actualising developmental projects across every part of the country.” Ashafa said, “The legislative agenda of this 8th Senate ably led by the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki involves charting a new course for national economy by opening up the economy for greater investment and ease of doing business. “Hence the creation of the National Assembly Business Environment Roundtable (NASSBER) to identity priority bills that will aid in investment in the economy. The consequence of this is passing of several economic bills into law including the Nigeria Railway Bill 2017. “My distinguished colleagues, approving this loan request is therefore also supporting the cause, which the 8th Senate stands for.” http://independent.ng/lagos-ibadan-rail-project-south-west-senators-guilty-treason-afenifere/

Freed Lagos Pupils: Our Captors Tied Our Legs Routine beatings. Exposure to the elements. Starvation. Un-hygienic food, and water. Illness. These were some of the torments the six kidnapped students of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, suffered during their 65 days in captivity, according to two of them yesterday. They were released on Friday through the combined efforts of the security agencies and Governors Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State. BY PRECIOUS IGBONWELUNDU JUL 29, 2017 R outine beatings. “We were blindfolded, kept under the bridge with our legs tied. They fed us eba and crayfish soup,” one of the students (name withheld) told The Nation. And they were given ‘reddish water’ to slay their thirst, he said. Yusuf Farouk, Isiaka Ramon, Pelumi Philips, Peter Jonas, Adebanjo George and Judah Agbaosi were abducted from their hostels- Yellow and Green houses- on May 25 by gunmen clad in police uniform. The maltreatment soon took a toll on them with two falling ill: they bled from the mouth. The victim said their abductors routinely beat them and left them in the open, day and night. Their only shelter was a bridge. Photo Credit: Sahara Reporters Media Photo Credit: Sahara Reporters Media But then they had no blankets or additional dresses to shield them from the elements. He said: “They were beating us. They fed us with eba and crayfish soup. They mixed the crayfish with pepper and water and then gave us to eat with eba. “They were giving us red water to drink. The water had a bad taste but no odor. It was polluted. They kept us under a bridge. They gave us no bed sheets or blankets.” Their only wears all through were the dresses they had on when they were abducted and the replica jerseys provided by the kidnappers. That was what they wore into freedom on Friday. “They were the ones Who gave us the replica jerseys,” he said. The student is now “fine and happy” to be back home with his family after all the trauma. “I have done my medical check up. I am fine and happy to be home with my family,” he said and paused, his mood changing immediately. That ended the conversation at the discretion of his interviewer. A second victim (name also withheld for security reasons) said they changed camps thrice during their captivity, enduring starvation at some point. One of the camps was made of cut trees and the kidnappers had to erect a tent to shield them from rain. As time went by the kidnappers allowed the boys to prepare their food, and move around, he said. His mother commended Lagos Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni and the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) for standing by them throughout their ordeal. “Honestly, I do not want to expose my son to any danger. It is true he fell sick in the camp because we were told then,” she said. “He was kidnapped while he was recuperating from an illness and so, I think the environment they were kept and the trauma made him sick again. He was examined on Friday night and the doctors asked that we return to the hospital. But he is okay now. http://saharareporters.com/2017/07/29/freed-lagos-pupils-our-captors-tied-our-legs |
NwaAmaikpe:"Majek Fashek is beyond redemption and should be nowhere near a church" Did you just write that Mr Lucifer who is parading himself as a deluded senior Jesus! What divine efforts have you invested in just a soul that will guarantee his or her admission into the eternal rest/damnation? No wonder your hypocritical forebears knocked the Lord Jesus when He gathered together and ate with the agberos of this world . Do you know what He replied them : "the sick has no need of a physician! ' It shows how bereft of you about the work of Redemption. Jesus Christ of Nazareth shed His Blood for ALL. It is His exclusivity to declare any soul as lost forever (in as much as the person hasn't denied the Atoning Sacrifice on the Cross-Crucifixion,burial and Resurrection-and/or proclaimed himself as satanist). Majek Fashek, Jesus still loves you! |

mikky4764:That is what being Religious-but-Godless can be. A lot of people are stark ignorant when it comes to God. Aside from RIP, another statement being misused is "By the Grace of God". Imagine a prostitute making money and an exam cheat graduating By the Grace of God! Grace us unmerited favour on condemned sinners to get saved from the sure scourge of eternal death in hell fire. IT IS ONLY POSSIBLE THRO THE DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth. 2 Cor. 5:17. John 3:16 This is EXCLUSIVE to those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. (If any group thinks otherwise, they should prove their 'Grace's here and now!) |

Agimor:Your case is pathetic. See below: Exodus 20:3-5 (KJV) Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee ANY graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; |
