PoliticsTRAITS ABOVE TRIBE- A Story For Ethnic Jingoists & Bellicose Nationalists . by farem(op): 1:22pm On Jul 13, 2017
TRAITS ABOVE TRIBE (Love speeches above hate speeches)

What would be your reaction if this happened to you?:

Pa ADEKOLA is a 90 year old man lying on his sick bed in the hospital.
He envisaged the end had come.
He therefore beckoned to RASHEED his 60 year old son to come close that he had something to tell him and the following conversation ensued:

Pa ADEKOLA: My son, I've seen the extent of hatred you have for the Igbos and I've also noticed that you despise them a lot .

RASHEED: Baami , they over-do things o jare and this has made me develop hatred for them and I will use every opportunity to deal with them. But, sir let's leave their issue and concentrate on your recovery.

Pa ADEKOLA: Rasheed my son, you must relate with every man as an individual and not based on his or her ethnicity. I feel the end is near and need to reveal a long held secret to you.

RASHEED: I don't think I can ever like the Igbos but, Baami, what's the secret?

Pa ADEKOLA: 60 years ago while I was still working with the Railways in Enugu I had a friend and neighbor Mazi Okeke (Easterner) and his wife Bilikisu (a Northerner) who were very close and good to us (Westerners).

Mazi Okeke and the wife died in a motor accident three months after they had a boy child and I couldn't help but adopt that little child as my own.

Myself and your late mum took care of the boy like ours and ensured he lacked nothing.
That child is you!

You're really not an ADEKOLAs but an OKEKEs and my friend Mazi Ignatius Okeke is your father.

You're not Yoruba but Igbo with a mix of Fulani blood.

RASHEED: (Takes a deep long breath and walks out of the room, saying). What have I done!?

Moral of story: Every one deserves to be judged and defined by the composition of his intellect and whatever he brings to bear in his social and communal relationships.

How will RASHEED who hated Igbos feel when he suddenly realized that he hated himself all this while?

Tribal consciousness rests in the bossom of the unexposed .

Every tribe and people have the good, the bad and the ugly.

I am a proud Nigerian without regrets.
Just asking for fair and equal treatment for all under our Constitution.
God bless Nigeria.

Yes, that is good. South-East and South-South Senators are happy that the 2nd Niger bridge budget has been slashed, infact they are the one that actually slashed the budget in order to punished Buhari. This is because it is Buhari and his family that will use the bridge.

Nigeria senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Wednesday, Abuja said that he was filled with emotions on swearing in Senator Ademola Adeleke, the brother to late senator Isiaka Adeleke, as the new senator representing Osun west constituency.
This was made known via Bukola’s tweeter handle as he further stated that his dear and departed colleague will be happy and filled with joy today to see his brother occupying his seat.
Speaking on the parties differences Saraki said that his only sadness is that Senator Ademola Adeleke is not coming in as an APC member, but hopes that he will very soon return to his natural fold, APC, where he rightly belongs.
He equally stated that Sen. Ademola Adeleke’s wining was as a result of their parties mishandling of the pre-election matters.
Writing further Saraki stated that he hopes this development will serve as an eye-opener to APC at all level that the will of the people must always be respected. ” We all have a good lesson to learn from this”, he finally wrote

It is not true that the popular American gospel singer and evengelist, Don Moen, is dead.

News of his death spread fast on Nigerian social media platforms, especially, Twitter and Facebook, as Don Moen became a Twitter trend, with many circulating information about the death of the renown singer.
However, checks made by
Tribune Online on the controversial information revealed that Don Moen is hale and hearty in his home at Minnesota, United States.
Just today, as the unsavory information was being spread on the social media, Don Moen, far away in Minnesota, was celebrating seeing four generations of his family.
He also made this known via a picture of himself and family members which he circulated on his social media, Twitter and Facebook, as a way of reacting against rumours of his death.
Tribune Online can say authoritatively that Don Moen is alive, hale and hearty.

PoliticsOsinbajo’s Trip To London Secretly Planned For Weeks by farem(op): 10:57am On Jul 12, 2017
Nigeria’s vice-president has returned from a whistlestop trip to meet ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London and will chair Wednesday’s weekly cabinet meeting, his spokesman said.

Acting President Yemi “Osinbajo now back in Abuja from London & will be presiding over FEC (federal executive committee) this morning,” tweeted Laolu Akande.

He also pledged to share “more information” about Osinbajo’s encounter with Buhari, describing it as “a very good meeting”.

Osinbajo, who has been acting president since Buhari left for medical treatment on May 7, flew to London on Tuesday.

No details were given about the meeting but it is believed to be the first face-to-face encounter between Nigeria’s two most senior politicians in more than two months.

Buhari, 74, has not been seen in that time and has now spent nearly four months of this year out of the country, prompting growing calls for clarity about his fitness to govern.

His condition has not been disclosed but aides have previously played down rumours that he was terminally ill with cancer or even dead.

His wife Aisha, who flew to London earlier this month, on Monday posted a cryptic message on her Facebook page in response to a Nigerian senator’s description of Buhari as “the absent Lion King”.

“God has answered the prayers of the weaker Animals. The Hyena’s and the Jackals will soon be sent out of the kingdom,” she wrote.

The description has been seen as a reference to a supposed behind-the-scenes struggle for power and influence in government during Buhari’s absence.

The Nation newspaper, owned by the founder of Buhari’s All Progressives Congress party, Bola Tinubu, said Osinbajo’s trip to London had been secretly planned for weeks.

“The Acting President has actually been relying on third-party information and purported directives from the President in London,” an unnamed source was quoted as saying.

Another said: “The trip had been planned in the past three weeks but was only known to few people for strategic reasons. The ‘Jackals and Hyenas’ were beaten to it.”

Osinbajo wanted “undiluted information” on Buhari’s health, to brief his boss on decisions he had taken in his absence and get approval for policy, the second source added.

BREAKING! House Of Reps Members Return CRK As Independent Subject For The Students!
By Mathew
Posted on July 11, 2017

Members of the House of Representatives at plenary on Tuesday jettisoned the government policy which subsumed Christian Religious Knowledge, CRK in Civic Education as a compulsory subject in the Secondary School curriculum. Christian Religious Knowledge This followed a motion titled “Call to make Civic Education an optional instead of a compulsory subject for Senior Certificate Examination” , filed by Hon. Beni Lar from Plateau State. The members after an exhaustive debate on the motion agreed that the policy was incongruent with the spirit and letters of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) on the provision of religious liberties. The members agreed that students with the inputs of their parents at formative years should be taught the religious subjects of their choice in school. Essentially, the House while pointing out that the policy makers erred ab initio also agreed Islamic Studies and CRK should be taught independently and separately in the spirit of the constitution. It will be recalled that the issue recently became a subject of controversy whereupon tempers flared.

PoliticsRe: Facts About The Nigerian Mining Sector by farem: 2:09pm On Jul 08, 2017
sojiboy:
Nigeria as a country is blessed with abundance of many resources which include stones, precious metals and minerals. Following the history of the Nigerian mining, In the early 70s, Nigeria was a major importer of coal, tin, and columbite, as such, Nigeria made a lot or revenue from the exportation process. However, this exportation process and other activities in the mining sector suffered premature death when crude oil was discovered.

Many Nigerians have argued and made a lot of presentations on the need for the country to come up with more sectors and multiply the revenue streams of the country. When democracy gained prominence in 1999, President Obasanjo worked tirelessly in putting in place a mechanism for diversification of the country’s revenue and as far as the mining sector is concerned, the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act was inaugurated in 2007 to revive the mining sector in Nigeria.

It should be noted that though over 40 different minerals are scattered across Nigeria, some of them are not available in commercial quantities. The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in its mining sector reformation strategy identified seven (7) minerals for strategic and priority development. The identified minerals are Iron ore, Coal, Lead/Zinc, Bitumen, Gold, Limestone and Barite.

Mining Sector’s Legal and Regulatory Framework.

The Nigerian Mineral and mining Act regulates the mining sector in Nigeria by vesting the regulation and control of ownership of Nigeria’s mineral resources. Also, the provision of Nigeria’s National Minerals and Metals Policy coupled with Minerals and Mining Regulations control the activities of the sector.

In terms of administration of the mining industry, Ministry of Mines and Steel Development oversees the industry’s administrative activities. The administration is carried out by Mines Inspectorate Department, Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Department, Mines, Environment and Compliance and Mining Cadastre office.

Mining Titles and Licenses.

Mining titles are granted to individuals, companies and co-operatives. Mining leases and exploration licenses can be granted through competitive bidding or individual request. Under competitive bidding, mineral locations are consolidated into blocks by the government and such blocks are offered for sale to both local and foreign investors who have financial and technical muscle to consummate mining activities. The bidding process under the competitive bidding include advertisement in media, due process of diligence by data room, receipt of Expression of Interest (EOI), preferred investor selection, communication of investors that are selected to National Assembly Committee on Solid Minerals and offer of mineral titles to selected investors.

As far as licensing and leasing is concerned, the types of licenses and leases that can be given include Renaissance Permits (RP), Exploration license, Quarry Lease, Small-Scale Mining lease, Mining lease and water use permit.

Mining business in Nigeria.

In Nigerian mining, Nigerians can start and carry on the business of mining through partnership, limited liability companies, unlimited liability companies and unincorporated joint venture while foreigners are only authorized to start and carry on mining business through limited liability companies as section 54 of Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) states that foreign company cannot carry on any business in Nigeria. As such, the documents required for company’s incorporation in Nigeria are Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, Share Capital statement, compliance with Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) declaration, notice of situation of the company’s registered office and return of allotment of shares and particulars of First Directors of the company.

Challenges in the industry.

The challenges confronted by investors are much and as such, can not be over emphasized.

However, the major challenges that mining industry’s investors are facing are low project funding due to slow reform implementation by the government, appalling level of infrastructural development, inadequate security, illegal mining and community issues.

PoliticsCourt Strikes Out Suit Seeking Sack Of Magu, Lawal Rilwan by farem(op): 9:55am On Jul 08, 2017
Court strikes out suit seeking sack of Magu, Lawal Rilwan 9 hours ago
Magu
A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday struck out a suit seeking to compel President Muhammadu Buhari to sack acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, and suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Lawal.
The court’s decision was informed by a change of mind by the plaintiffs – Save Nigeria Group (SNG) and Kingdom Human Rights Foundation International (KHRFI) – whose lawyer, Kingdom Okeke, applied to withdraw the cases.
The groups filed the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/15/1072/16 on December 29, 2015, in the wake of the corruption allegations levelled by the Senate against Lawal and Magu.
Yesterday, Okeke applied orally for the withdrawal of the case on the ground that his client had reconsidered their position on the matter in public interest.
After listening to Okeke apply to withdraw the suit, Justice John Tsoho, in a ruling, struck it out.
Okeke told The Nation after court’s proceedings that ”the boards of the plaintiffs looked at the issue of the $43 million discovered in a flat in Osborne building in Ikoyi, Lagos and discovered that Magu had done well.
“This money was just a microscopic percentage of funds stolen by the political class over the years.
“It is commendable that the EFCC under the leadership of Magu was able to discover this money and nobody could honour the invitation to come out and lay claim to it, prompting the court to make a final forfeiture order of the money to the Federal Government. So we decided to withdraw the suit in support of Magu.”
The plaintiffs had in the suit filed last year named President Buhari, Lawal, Magu, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, and the Senate as the defendants.
They argued that the Senate, having recommended the removal and prosecution of Lawal, the President was under obligation to suspend or sack him as the SGF.
They added that the Senate, having rejected Magu’s nomination as substantive chairman of the EFCC, the office had become vacant.
They urged the court to declare that the allegation against Lawal by the Senate “is a sufficient and reasonable ground to warrant and compel President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to sack or suspend Lawal as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation or compel him to resign as the SGF, pending when he is cleared of every allegation of corruption; on the ground that the President claims that his administration is fighting corruption.”
They also urged the court to declare that “the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had the constitutional powers to recommend the sack or suspension of Lawal as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) on the grounds of corruption allegation filed against him and his company, in view of section 88(1) (b) and (2) (b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
They also sought a declaration that the provisions of the Federal Civil Service Rules is applicable to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and that under the Federal Civil Service Rules, a person appointed in acting capacity cannot act in such capacity for more than six months, in view of Rules 010101, 020603 and 020604 of the Federal Civil Service Rules 2008.
“A declaration that the Senate’s rejection of the 1st Defendant’s nomination of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the Senate’s votes and proceeding of Thursday 15 December 2016 is a reasonable and lawful ground to warrant and compel the 1st Defendant to appoint/nominate another person as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission without any further delay.
“A declaration that the office of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is vacant on the ground of the Senate’s rejection and failure to confirm Mr. Ibrahim Magu, who has been acting in that capacity for more than six months.
“A declaration that the four-year term of office provided for in section 3 (1) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act is only applicable to a substantive Chairman of EFCC who is appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate; and not applicable to a person appointed to act in the capacity of Chairman of the Commission, pending the appointment and confirmation of a substantive Chairman.”

See how the midget sat on the seat, am sure if he was to be missing, no one would have seen him.
When he just sneezes, the t becomes news across the globe, none of your forebears ever made a village tabloid.
They were huge in physique but greatly useless in their minds.

The best of your generation is still struggling to achieve 10% of Aki or Pawpaw
