You do understand that the military only upholds democracy, but is not ruled by it?

That is not treason, treason is trying going against a senior officer, the president included since he is the commander of the military,
Read the oaths taken by the armed forces and stop saying nonsense.

In active war zones like Borno, soldiers cannot risk having crowds of civilians around them, the soldiers are not mad, they must have been stopped by the officials for them to act like that.

It will be hard to make a case against the military in this situation.
Did they take their grievance through the appropriate channels?

It is only hard for people who think the military is above the law.
Health › Re: Soldiers Attack Borno COVID-19 Committee, One Dead by Farki: 9:17pm On Jun 13, 2020
Bluffly:
No law was violated. the committee is so wrong. You saw soldiers in combative mode en route and you are telling them there is a restriction in an ongoing war area. Wisdom is required in enforcement.
There was an order given which they disregarded so people could troop in. The order wasn't for them but the civilians.

Threatened to kill civilians which is a war crime.

Rammed through a checkpoint killing a policeman and injuring others.

Yet you're telling me no law was violated.

I swear Nigerians are a special breed of stupid.
Health › Re: Soldiers Attack Borno COVID-19 Committee, One Dead by Farki: 9:06pm On Jun 13, 2020
Nigerian military doing what it knows best and that is forming superpower for unarmed civilians and violating the law.

Later some stupid people here will be asking why Nigerian citizens don't hold the military in high regard.

Bandits, herdsmen and Boko Haram operate the same way, appear seemingly out of nowhere, kill unimpeded, destroy property and steal cows.

See that community policing is necessary.

Politics › Re: I Have Recorded Notable Achievements - President Buhari Reveals On Democracy Day by Farki:
You have maintained the presence of Boko Haram in the North East continuing the legacy of Goodluck and Yar Adua.

You have allowed to price of fuel to skyrocket taking it to greater heights than any other administration.

You have allowed the exchange rate to quadruple since you took the oath of office making purchase of goods more expensive and complicated.

You have overseen the destruction of farms and properties by herdsmen and bandits not only in the North but in the entire country.

You managed to achieve not one but 2 recessions.

You have improved international relations by constantly touring the world using taxpayers money to fund your medical trips, vacation and your daughter's projects while local hospitals remain in shambles.

You have made sure that the affairs of state are conducted by shady background characters to the point where your own wife has to complain.

You have inspired hard work in all sectors by blaming the laziness of youths for the situation of Nigeria while allowing old and dull men to continue occupying offices and receiving pay without achieving anything.

You have continued to spread peace by allowing the military to gun down protestors in the streets and allowing the DSS to violate court orders without any punishment.

For this we say Sai Baba and wish that you receive multiple times over what you have done for Nigeria.

There has been light for just 1 hour in 3 days. This man doesn't have a damn clue what he's talking about.

Before the lockdown they would only bring the light in the evening or early in the morning.

During the lockdown the situation improved and we had light for most of the day.

After the lockdown was lifted the power situation has been horrible constantly having to rely on inverters and generators.

Whenever it rains there must always be a blackout. It's like they are playing with us here.

phemmyfour:
She fought the British from taking over Lagos.

Oba Akintoye rewarded her with several valuable stores in Lagos and built a massive house for her to match her status. She became a close advisor of the Oba and was very influential in his decision making. Madam Tinubu later became an advocate for the abolition of the colonial slave trade after realising the torture and sufferings that slaves went through.

She became a staunch advocate against British rule and was exiled. Her exile was because she had secretly organised a plot to remove British Consul Benjamin Campell in 1856 but was confronted and escorted out of Lagos at gunpoint.

She moved to Abeokuta where she traded in firearms and gunpowder being a major supplier during the war against Dahomey. Through her political influence and power, Madam Efunroye was able to get many traditional rulers including Oba Akintoye to sign documents that ended Africans selling other Africans to the Europeans.
The same Tinubu who continued to trade slaves after the British outlawed it and said drowning them is preferable to lowering their price?

How will you trade slaves and not know they are treated badly?

The claims of her being benevolent seem like revisionism.

You ever wonder why her name survived many centuries and exists untainted till the present day? It's because she was great and loved by her people.
Maybe she's worthy of condemnation if most of us backlashing her can at least achieve for ourselves and nation one tenth of all she achieved for herself and tribesmen.
King Leopold II of Belgium has statues and is still remembered fondly despite what happened in the Congo 'free' state. Horrible people get remembered because the people remembering them were not affected by their actions or simply didn't know.

Maybe in the future there will be statues of Shekau all over Nigeria.

FFK is interested in opposite side of the woman. She was a worrier and a patriot. Apart from using her wealth to aid the development of her birthplace and place of residence, she contributed to Egba people victory against the Dahomey in Egba/Dahomy war. FFK is just trying to paint the woman as a villain just to score cheap points.
She was only after her self interest and I don't see why we should apply double standards to her trading slaves because she is black.

Trump generally lacks basic understanding of how simple things work in politics, both local and int'l. I wonder if he has or listens to advice and intelligent reports.

He likes to confront and bully everyone either friends or foes. He also likes to hurt people with words even when it's unnecessary. In all honesty, nothing shows any trace of intelligence in him. The question is how did he become president?
Trump became President because some Americans saw his openly xenophobic, hateful and ridiculous displays as signs of being powerful and in charge.

They thought Trump was different from the other politicians, thinking that his money made him immune to corruption, his hatred of Muslims and imagined war against gays and abortion made him a good Christian and his attacks against others showed his patriotism.

Anyone who tried to tell them this was called a hater who was a shill for 'the establishment' forgetting that Trump is the physical manifestation of the establishment.
