MrCanceller: Hate speech. The Nigerian army under Buratai has successfully decimated boko haram, shiites and ipob insurgents in Nigeria. At least Buratai is the lesser evil when compared to Ihejirika during the looting regime of PDP that plunge this country to the mess it is today
You mean they have successfully killed unarmed protesters and bloggers?
Oladeligt: If you are tired of the Job why not desert silently and live a quite life. What Nigerians don't know is that no matter how bad u try to paint the military, people will still apply in their thousands so why waste ur time.
Wetin Army go use this guy eye see eeehn, even Sahara reporters go pity am. And those talking about human right, stop deceiving yourself the military have their own way of dealing with issues within themselves.
You completely missed the point of what he was saying, I'm sure you didn't even watch the video. He was already offered chances to leave the country, he knows the result of speaking out but he would rather stay and fix it, for his colleagues and family.
I suspect your wife cheated on you and the kid is not yours. That would explain her overcompensating when she suspected you of cheating, your mother in law probably knows as well. Although this is just speculation on my part.
I hope you get your kids back, if not try to move on, your wife sounds like a terror although we haven't heard her part of the story.
kikero: The US Army does not tolerate dissent in its ranks.
If an American soldier did what this guy is doing...ie posted videos from Iraq and Afghanistan, and commented that Americans were dying in useless wars....the soldier would have been court martialled and jailed, and there is nothing the Americans can do about it.
Even the discipline case involving a US SEAL officer that Trump intervened in, the man resinged after he was 'acquitted' . He knew he won't be tolerated in the US Navy anymore.
Armed forces the world over don't tolerate dissent in the ranks. Even if times are hard.(And the US Army has had some of the same criticisms that the Nigerian Army has too...complaints of poor equipment, poor tactics in its wars in Vietnam, Iraq 1 and 2 and Afghanistan)
Skip to 23 minutes into this video but please watch the whole video for greater context and listen carefully to the words of Major Steuber.
Jakemedg: I quite agree with you but have you forgotten that contacting your senator / house reps member isn't the same as contacting your mobile network customer care service
Leave him, back when Ambode was governor some people led a protest march to his office and he acted like nothing happened. The useless people calling themselves politicians know what's going on but because it's not affecting their pocket they won't be bothered.
Governor Zulum is one of the few people who actually does his job.
The bravery of this man is astounding. Even the soldiers themselves have had enough and lost confidence in Burutai. A few weeks ago a soldier recorded himself cursing Burutai on the battlefield.
Though I criticise the army a lot I agree with what he is saying,we can't be struggling with insecurity forever or this country will collapse on itself.
fairfora: Dont mind them you'd see them putting up topics on NL Romance, which amazingly would hit front page like...can I marry her? Can I have a girlfriend? She's my best friend but now, she's acting funny, my sister inlaw is eyeing me, advice needed...blablabla. Visit similar fora in the west, science, techs, how to build wealth, etc would draw traffic with meaningful contributions. But here, the reverse in the case. I wonder if there's anything else they think about than all these irrelevant stuffs. Truly all animals are equally, but some are more equally than others...culled from Animal Farm
You clearly haven't seen the nonsense happening daily on Twitter.
Young people won't be discussing politics because they know that their voices won't matter and their destinies have been sold.
kikero: The cities would be well developed, but the rural areas won't be well developed.
Also, there would be mass segregration, and disporprotionate spending on white settlers vs black settlers. Roads won't reach everywhere, and getting a hosptial in your region would involve a trip to the Colonial office in London.
Inasmuch as Nigeria could be better, I'm happy we got indepenedience. We are not developed because we are a resource dependent country, and we have refused to1) do the hard work to be an industrial economy 2) refused to charge high enough taxes. 3) run power , and oil and many other sectors as 'non profit making ventures'.
You basically described the Nigeria of today, but instead of white settlers it's the rich Africans and their foreign collaborators that are enjoying the benefits.
I propose a one year mandatory service in the military for all graduates. That's more efficient and purposeful than NYSC
Nigerian politicians will never do such. It is more profitable for them to have a docile population that is unable to defend itself to prevent revolution.
SmartProf: It's a perception held by so many accross Nigeria and not particularly the south east. Such perception which personally I don't subscribe to is fueled by the fact that there is little or no transparency on how donated funds have been spent so far, and there has been little satisfaction from the public on why those acclaimed to be positive are hardly given expert clinical management or treatment on arrival at the isolation centres and yet they recover. Infact some of them openly protest against being neglected without proper care. There is also the notion about figures being inflated by the government to decieve donor agencies, and many persons don't understand why u should lock them down totally when u aren't providing any palliatives nor stipends for their survival thereby predisposing them loosing their means of livelihood. To make matters worse, politicians are holding rallies and moving about, some without adherence to covid 19 guidelines. In all we know that the severity of Covid 19 in our country seems less compared to other parts of the world, but over the years Nigerians have lost trust in their government and that's why they don't trust whatever you churn out
authority2006: Military keep you safe, they're the only reason why terrorists and bandits haven't been able to overrun your state of residence.
The fact that Amotekun exists and other states are coming up with plans for their own regional security outfits shows the failure of the police and military in keeping people safe.
In Jos civilians have been killed by herdsmen, nothing happened, but when soldiers were killed they did something and arrested some of them.
Combine these inconsistencies with the human rights abuses and you can see why people don't appreciate the military.
Nitah1: I do not believe this whole story, within the period they moved in how come neighbor immediately know the reason for their death as in infidelity...this is murder carefully planned by someone from where they came from.
why loud music?
So that neighbours can't hear the screams for help. This was carefully planned out to prolong the suffering of the victim meaning the killer had a strong hatred for the victim.
OLDESTWARRIBOY4: No be Jason be that? That Ibori asslicker This FFK no go help boys for Ogun state so that dem go stop to dey do that thing wey ogun boys like to dey do, e wan help Erosion people
But anyway make im help fast make this man below no go pound am like yam the way im do he children
justine14: The reality is that 10K is quite good an amount for those recruited hunters to keep safeguard there home, villages, town, communities and cities.
Borno natives are good farmers and food isn't that expensive over there.
Make sense somewhat I was just wondering about the amount.
If my calculations are correct the recruits will be getting 10k monthly stipend to forsake their jobs and do what the army and police are supposed to be doing.
