alasane: If you hate the soldiers so much whenever you are trouble call those hoodlums to rescue you as in case ENDSARS scenario ….then u must have learn in hard ways Soldiers are paid to do their jobs, if they can't do their jobs and treat civilians who haven't broken the law with dignity they should find other means of employment. Despite having soldiers everywhere there's still kidnapping, banditry and herdsmen attacks. Despite having soldiers we have Joint Task Force, Civil Defence and Amotekun among other vigilante groups. Soldiers even shoot police to rescue kidnappers but nobody gets punished for it. You typed one long epistle about how civilians hate and fear civilians yet you can't get it through your thick skull that your own stupid opinions are what is fueling that effect. I wouldn't expect you to think this topic through since you can't even string together a proper sentence. |

For example Obaseki was voted in last year and the presidential election was held in 2019, will Obaseki's tenure be cut short or extended to accommodate this? BetaThings: Who is to be shot - members of the armed forces? Anyone can be shot while committing a crime
If you were the CO of any police formation, you would wait for more policemen to be killed? At the Toll Gate or anywhere The more policemen that are killed the greater the strength of criminals and the weaker that of the police
People gathered to defy a curfew 36 hours after criminals started killing policemen, more than 24hours after people started killing policemen When crime is raging criminals are identified because they defy curfew while law-abiding citizens stay at home
Nobody can guarantee that people who were ready to kill policemen were not present at Lekki When a crowd gathers, you can only speak for yourself. Different people have different intentions
By the way, how many people were shot at Lekki, 78? 15? I refuse to believe that several Nigerian soldiers fired live bullets at a crowd for more than 1 hour and only 78 people died
Go and check the record of lone mass shooters. Stephen Paddock single-handedly killed 58 people in 15 mins You are simply too dumb or obsessed with your political party to comprehend appropriate use of force. The punishment for defying a curfew made specifically to undermine the right to protest is not death. Kindly get lost because your senseless rants just show how you want to keep Nigeria as an underdeveloped laughing stock, I really pity whatever children you may have. |

Mikecold: I really wonder what use this statement brings.
Is it to tell us that the rag tag bandits are more sophisticated than the state like they make us believe with Boko Haram The great Nigerian military and police force can't find their hideouts or stop them from spreading all over the country despite checkpoints in every local government yet local chiefs have their numbers and can arrange meetings with a press crew. So something strange is definitely going on. |

BetaThings: Nigeria is not that united in Nigeria. That is the reality Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of Biafra, whose views are endorsed by Prof Nwabueze, Senator Abaribe, Fmr Aviation Minister Chidoka and late Dr Ekwueme, He is the most influential figure among Igbo today He can declare markets closed and a lot of Igbo will obey
Nnamdi Kanu directed that building be burnt in Lagos - listen to him again He specifically mentioned SanwoOlu and Tinubu properties and their families He later clarified and said Anambra and Enugu should not be burnt because the govs cooperated with EndSARS protesters
What did these Govs do to cooperate with EndSARS protesters that SanwoOlu did not? When will you stop lying? When? https://dailypost.ng/2020/10/24/end-sars-more-police-stations-burnt-in-anambra-dpo-station-officer-killed/https://punchng.com/hoodlums-killed-two-cops-attacked-5-stations-enugu-police/?amp=1Nnamdi Kanu is not the leader of Biafra just the loudest voice. MASSOB and other groups existed before Kanu was even relevant so I don't even know what nonsense you're talking about, many Igbos still hold grudges over the civil war and it wasn't Kanu that started it. |

BetaThings: Actually you don't like Nigeria and you are pretending Policemen and soldiers that are supposed to protect us were slain, ROASTED and EATEN! you have not said ANYTHING about that
There are over 40m companies incorporated in Nigeria. Only one - LCC - was targted and the protest carried to its premises Other people wer making money but LCC's activities were disrupted They did not complain
LCC could not do anything about the protest, It could not move its premises, it has no power to impose a curfew or call in soldiers Why should it be punished ?
Recall that on 20 Oct 2020 Police stations were being burnt, policemen were being killed and the Gov imposed a curfew People protesting at the Lekki Toll Gate refused to obey the curfew. 6 hours after the imposition of curfew, they had not moved 1metre That in itself (no matter what anyone thinks is the case for their protest) is a crime and deserves to be punished Remember there are always at least 2 parties to a dispute. If you disobey the law because it does not favour you, you empower the other party to do so when the law does not align with their position Get all these stupid rants out of my mentions and answer this. Did anyone at Lekki kill the policemen? Were policemen killed at the tollgate? Were lights not turned off and equipment moved before the soldiers attacked? Is shooting civilians not a crime? If you can't answer these questions then simply shut up. |

All the people on this thread, previous threads and other social media blaming Igbos, IPOB, accusing DJ Switch of being an IPOB agent are what? I am Yoruba, many of the people who were involved in the ENDSARS protest are Yoruba yet all I see are people blaming igbos telling them to sort out their state blah blah blah when most of the Igbos complaining both live here and had businesses affected by the riots yet you continue to lie that it is their fault. Many people protested in Abia against Akwuzu SARS and eventually got them to shut down and many are still demanding for the arrest of James Nwafor but your tribal blinded asses won't see that. OneTemplate: Guy, grow up and start showing maturity. One of the qualities of an adult is the ability to make decisions that is in the interest of what is best for all.
A representative panel was constituted over the Lekki tollgate saga to include youths representatives. The decision to handover the tollgate to LCC was put to the vote.
Those who wanted the tollgate handed over to LCC won 5 to 4. As an adult you must learn to abide by democratic decisions which is the will of the majority even if you dont agree with choices made. You can't chose which decisions to accept or reject merely to suit your sentimental and immature approach to life.
Also, proper adults understand it is important to separate issues so we can see things clearly. Justice for victims has nothing to do with whether the tollgate is opened or remains shut.
It is about establishing culpability , if any, and bringing wrongdoers to book. I am sorry to say but you Nigerian youths are very disappointing. You can't think critically , you dont appear to have the intellectual 'robustness' your peers worldwide do and you can never see all sides of the coin let alone have the ability to be fair to all. LCC (Lagos concession company) shot no one.
The tollgate was legally and contractually conceded to them under a BOT deal. Some of us live in adult worlds where we understand we must respect contracts and legal obligations and not be emotional about every single thing.
Anyone not happy about the transparent votes that handed the tollgate to LCC , when names of those who voted and how they voted was announced publicly, should go to court as the article advised. Only lawless anarchists will be protesting at the tollgate when other Avenues exist to seek redress for whatever decisions they are unhappy with. You are simply deceiving yourself in projecting foolishness as intelligence. Let's rewind since you have such a short memory, most likely due to your old age; - When the "curfew order" was instituted for the "safety" of the protesters the soldiers waited until night time to go there. - The LCC removed equipment and turned off the lights and billboard before the soldiers came - The soldiers started shooting and people died. - After all the fracas the same government that sent soldiers to the tollgate created a panel by themselves to investigate themselves. - They brought an officer who kept playing dumb and outright lying. - The commander of the army division who was at the scene refused to honour the panel's invitation. - They invited the "activist" Segalink to the panel who voted for the tollgate to be opened even when the investigation was not complete. All I'm seeing here is that your main concern is the money gotten from the tollgate, what you can't seem to understand is that there are consequences to people's actions. In this country we feel only the powerless should have to face any punishment for their wrongs. |

Where in this acronym do you find anything about Yahoo and other forms of Internet fraud? Internet fraud is meant for the EFCC to handle, SARS was meant to stop armed robbers, kidnappers and rampaging bandits but they left that to steal from young people and kill those who didn't want to get robbed. If you are looking for someone to blame for the presence of Internet fraudsters blame the EFCC and stop defending those criminals in the form of SARS. |

Nuel4: these guys have no idea how dead Nigerian economy is. Every single human being living in Nigeria somehow benefit from internet fraud revenue. To stop fraud in Nigeria you will have to convert half of the country to prison facilities and lock up 90% of the youth who can read. The moment yahoo stops, 99% of car business will close down same with fast food, club, bars, hair saloons, boutique, shopping mall, big phone dealers, telecommunications revenue will drop by at least 80% which will lead to mass retrenchment, filling stations will do the same over 80% of universities students will drop out. Don't say dumb things for likes, it's comments like this that gives uneducated barbarians with AK-47 the courage to harass young people because they are presumed to be criminals. Now anyone who has an online business or is simply dressed well is termed as a fraudster because failed Nigerian education couldn't help people understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty. |

All around Nigeria, smelly open gutters, such rot.
I was walking around in Victoria Island, which should be like London, a place that should be bubbling with tourist, and what did I see...
OPEN GUTTERS, right in the heart of V.I. I even paused to look closely and it was so irritating, You'd see stuff that looks like poo mixed with algae and the whole thing will just be bubbling
How can tourists walk next to such open gutters right in one of the top cities in the country and not think we are animals?
You will know a serious government when they pay attention to things that seem little like building sidewalks instead of open gutters filled with feces in full view of the public. The same Isale Eko where the yeye Alhaji is from is a disgrace, walk there for a few minutes and you will lose your faith in humanity. Some streets aren't even passable as they have been filled with an unholy mixture of garbage, human waste and lagoon water yet they are plotting to kill others over a tollgate owned by billionaires living in Lekki and Ikoyi who don't give a damn about them. |
