If being a Yoruba lady makes the article worthless to you and your ilk, then being an Igboman should make Rev. Mbaka criticism of Jonathan administration valid. I hope you agree.
That is the type of President I want and we all desire. We don't want "I don't give a damn" kind of president who failed to declare his assets despite promising to do so.
Shagari did not say anything like this. Op, stop lying. This is the same way you all started spreading lies that Wole Soyinka endorsed the clueless one.
okiezman: Ahead of next month’s elections, a groundswell of opposition from Nigerians in the Diaspora is being mounted against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the February 14 presidential election, Muhammadu Buhari,
The opposition against the former military ruler is being championed by the United States chapter of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), the flagship association of Nigerians living abroad.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Hilton Garden, Washington DC, Victor Ugho, the immediate past Vice-President of NIDO, who is the current President of the Georgia State chapter of the association with headquarters in Atlanta, urged the former Head of State to perish the thought of becoming the next president of the country, saying that the world has moved past the like of Buhari.
Ugho expressed regrets that Buhari has allowed himself to be pushed around by some people whom, he said, were looking for ways to cause more pains to Nigeria.
He faulted the move by Buhari to seek the presidency as a civilian president, noting that Buhari, as a military Head of State, had ample opportunity to turn the country around.
“As a matter of sincerity, I do not think Buhari is the best candidate for Nigeria at this period in time. He was there as Head of State, what did he do?
“Again, he has not told us what he is going to do differently. We need continuity; the choice should not be based on tribal sentiment. “Let him tell us how he is going to fix the so-called terrible situation he has identified. We need somebody who will not bring disunity.”
Also speaking, the Public Relations Officer of NIDO, Ndubusi George, called on Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to think wisely and vote for the right candidate in next month’s presidential election.
According to him, “the devil we know is better than the angel we do not know.
“What we need now in the country is for all of us to unite and support President Jonathan who has been tested and trusted to lead the country for another four years.
“It is a fact that you should not expect something that had been damaged for years to be fixed overnight; it requires patience and perseverance to achieve this.”
In the same vein, the Diaspora Campaign Network (DCN) described the presidential aspiration of Buhari as laughable.
National Coordinator of the organisation, Franklin Ekechukwu, said Nigerians could not afford to return the management of the nation’s economy to a vestige of the military era during which time the nation’s economy was damaged.
He said: “Nigeria has made a big stride in the right direction since Jonathan became the president. Nigerians need to exercise patience to allow his policies to manifest.
“It is laughable when somebody who was a retired military dictator suddenly becomes a father of democratic norms, whereas, when as a ruler, he dismissed the constitution and ruled by decree.
“No, Nigeria cannot go back to the old days where anything goes without proper planning.”
On his part, the Secretary General of the Alliance of Nigerians in the Diaspora (ANID), Uche Thomas, said that Buhari’s opinions about democracy is shaped by his military background.
“His understanding of the President’s role in a democracy is shaped by his career and experience as a military dictator; hence, his promptness in declaring his intention to probe and throw Nigerians into jail.”
Imagine some people saying those Governors and Obasanjo are of no electoral value. Now they know kaki no be leather. Buhari has won hearts and minds of Nigerians. I promise you, Kwakwanso, Wamako, Fatai and others are not coming back to PDP. Those governors went to APC on the advice of Obasanjo and they are so pumped up and detrmined to beat Jonathan silly on FeBuhari 14.
I expect Jonathan to be beaten like a drum on FeBuhari 14.
oksoftmarketing: Concerns were raised, last night, over the health status of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, following his planned trip to the United States of American towards the end of January.
Buhari is reported to have filled an online application for the United States of America Visa to enable him travel to the country around January 26 for medical scrutiny.
The application for the visa, it was learnt, instantly fueled speculations that Buhari had been weighed down by the strain of the campaigns which he had been undertaking in recent days, thereby requiring urgent medical attention in the foreign land.
His opponents argued that Buhari would not have sought to abandon his campaigns midway and travel abroad for medical attention if his health condition was not dire.
Of course there is plan for Buhari to travel to some western countries at the end of this month in order to meet with foreign leaders and investors who have been skeptical about investing in Nigeria due to insecurity. Buhari is going there to assure them that sanity should return once he is sworn in because he is going to be kicking asses of Boko haram from the first day in office.
I can't believe you are in support of such blatant lie. You guys are disgraceful to say the least. How can you praise such project when you know deep inside you that such project does not exist in Anambra? This is the sole reason you are all heading for cries and destruction on February 14 because a house built on lies and deceit cannot stand.
Eziachi: Even if Buhari run a London Marathon are you sure you are still going to like him or would you look for something else? If Osibanjo mounts the thrown wasn't that your prayers answered? He is young, he has basket load of certificate, he has PHD, he is a Christian, he has your preferred English language ascent. So what are you worried about again?
Bayswater: Coming from an APC Presidential aspirant's newspaper company.... na wash. Let the hospital issue a formal statement. Leadership newspaper don come with their lies again.
You don't even need a medical report to know all is not well with Buhari, health-wise.
